I spent the last week with my 2 year old niece who has a rare form of Leukemia.

Her zest for life is beyond inspirational.

She lives in every single moment. 

And she brightens everyone else who is around her.

There is so much negativity and angst in the world today. 

I feel it and I know many of you do too.

This little 2 year old girl reminds me what it means to be human. 

What it means to find the good in every breath, to love unconditionally, to be present even in the midst of great trials.

I love you Navy. Thank you for being you. You are such a gift.

This is my niece Navy. 

Amazing news - her chemo worked very well. Cancer is in remission and they have a plan to continue. She will still need a bone marrow transplant.

Still a long journey ahead but so thankful!! 🙏

Time to get real. 

Yes, mom is deep in the scrapbooks again. 

Probably a quart of pumpkin creamer into her daily coffee. 

Pretty sure I was volunteering for the nursery on Sunday so I didn’t have to go to big Church.

•	Grew occupancy by 4% points by strengthening key partnerships with top accounts (17% increase year over year in production with our top account).
•	Assisted in the development of the hotel annual budget and business plan.  Created a suite of Revenue Optimization reports to streamline the budget process and allow for ease of corporate consolidation.

•	Increased Fall ’06 matures by 31.8% over Spring ’06 in Music Systems, picking up 200bps of market share by launching a new novelty item which became a Top 50 Division Q4 SKU.
•	Drove incremental $5.3M sales in Q4 by effectively supporting key items with vendor supported contingency plans.  Negotiated $1M in vendor held safety stock and a Return to Vendor program that would sweep back up to $1.5M of inventory.
•	Drove sales through Q4 in the Home Theater category by maintaining instocks above LY by 7.5%.  Partnered with key item vendors on contingency planning and quickly reacting to early sales reads to reduce import lead time.
•	Lead the successful conversion of a $150M annual sales category by partnering with vendors to secure inventory and partnering with internal departments on replenishment strategy and item maintenance.  Created best method strategy that has been used in subsequent Division conversions.

In my mid 30’s, about 13 years into my Corporate America career climbing the ladder, I hit rock bottom.  I found myself caught up in the insatiable quest for more, bigger and better.  From success at work to possessions at home.  I had an “ah-ha” when I realized the tradeoffs I was making to achieve said success, just weren’t worth it anymore.

After taking the ultimate promotion to a stay-at-home dad in 2017, I started putting the pieces together on what a full life looks like for me.  The blank canvas I was given to start over allowed me the chance to create a solution to something that would’ve greatly impacted me when I needed it most during my delusional pursuit of self-centered success.

I now measure success in more wholistic ways.  In 2020, we left the city and moved to the Northwoods of MN where I found myself in love with a simpler way of life.  While I enjoy all the conveniences of modern day, I’m a vintage throwback man who craves the solitude and enrichment the Northwoods has given me.

You’ll see me facilitating once-in-a-lifetime Guys Trips all over the world, but I’m happiest splitting wood with an axe at our cabin in the woods. 

Guys Trip has facilitated over 16 trips since 2019 and over 200 guys have attended in total.
