I Journey Through Brand Stories

I build partnerships that stand up to scrutiny and scale—and I push them into new territory.

My work sits at the intersection of national civic engagement and strategic partnerships. Across the UK I convene councils, civic societies and faith-led organisations to co-design funds, strengthen governance and turn lived experience into investable programmes. In the INGO space I lead corporate partnerships and sponsor-ready initiatives, bringing the operating discipline—OKRs, impact dashboards, ethics in sponsorship—that gives brands and public bodies the confidence to back bold ideas.

I’m known for policy → delivery → proof: clear compacts, open KPIs and outcomes you can publish. From mosque boards and city forums to brand teams and ministries, I align incentives and get coalitions working in the real world. Internationally, I advise on sport-led social outcomes and build Saudi–UK collaboration across culture,religion and community.

I also work on philanthropy and social good: designing grantmaking frameworks, corporate giving and diaspora-led funds that move money responsibly and transparently—so generosity becomes measurable impact.

We launched Aruuri last week. A community fund pooling small monthly contributions to support vetted, locally led projects across the Horn of Africa.
In just a few days we are already closing in on our first 1,000 dollars in the fund.

The most blessed endeavours often start small, but what has surprised me is how quickly people have moved from “this is a nice idea” to “here is how we can build on this together.”

Since launch, donors have been referring projects and frontline partners they trust. Remittance leaders are exploring how Aruuri can sit alongside their rails, testing ways we can plug into existing customer journeys and build on the momentum we are seeing. East African organisations are reaching out with ideas for missions, co-funding and long-term collaboration. It feels less like a product launch and more like tapping into an energy that was already there.

At its core Aruuri is simple: turn fragmented remittances and one-off donations into pooled, long-term capital for healthcare, education and livelihoods projects that communities themselves have a stake in. Give contributors a live window into what is being funded, what impact it is having, and what is still waiting in the pipeline.

We are still early, and we are learning a lot every day, but the response so far has been a strong signal that there is real demand for transparent, community-owned infrastructure that can sit between the diaspora, remittance flows and frontline organisations. We are grateful for the trust people have already shown and excited to share what comes next.

The past few weeks have been some of the most hectic and, somehow, the most uplifting since I started working on Ihraamly.

We’ve gone from “is anyone actually going to use this thing?” to seeing global Umrah providers running group tours sign up from different parts of the world and pilgrims telling us, “I’ve been waiting for this for years.” That still feels a bit surreal to read in my inbox if I am honest.

In between shipping product updates, I’ve been jumping between calls and meetings with major Muslim organisations across different industries, exploring partnerships and figuring out how Ihraamly can plug into what they are already doing. At the same time, our small team is deep in Ramadan prep mode, planning how we can support pilgrims who are aiming for Umrah around Ramadan and making sure the platform actually keeps up with the demand we’re hoping for. My calendar currently looks unhinged, but somehow we’re making it work.

From tomorrow I’ll be in Doha representing Ihraamly at the Collective Continuum’s Spark Awards followed by Web Summit Qatar in shaa Allah. Our founder Adnan Ali almost got scammed booking his first Umrah.

What should have been the start of a sacred journey turned into weeks of stress: bouncing between Instagram posts, WhatsApp messages, and forwarded PDFs, never fully sure who to trust or what was actually included. That experience is exactly why Ihraamly exists.

We’re building a trust‑led platform to make guided group Umrah simple and transparent. Instead of guessing, pilgrims can clearly see who the provider is, what the itinerary includes, how far the hotel is, what’s covered (and what isn’t), and choose the group that best matches their values, pace, and level of comfort. Our goal is to remove the admin anxiety so pilgrims can focus on intention, worship, and the people they travel with.

Since opening up the platform, we’ve already had Umrah providers running group tours sign up from across the world, from Western diaspora communities to operators serving pilgrims in key corridors. Many of them have told us they’ve been looking for a neutral, trust‑led marketplace like this to reach ready‑to‑book pilgrims without compromising on transparency or quality.

On the pilgrim side, the feedback has been just as encouraging. People who’ve been searching for a safer, clearer way to find group Umrah options reflecting their values have told us this is the kind of solution they’ve wanted for years. One place to make sense of all the different itineraries, prices, and providers before committing to such an important journey.

This video shares a small part of our founder’s story and the reason Ihraamly was formed. We don’t want anyone else to go through the same uncertainty before such a significant act of worship.
