Building Client Pipelines on LinkedIn | Founders & Freelancers

3 years ago, I would have laughed if someone told me this would happen.

Last week I was invited to fly to San Francisco for the final interview with one of the top 3 fastest-growing startups in the world for the Head of CEO Content position.

After 3 calls with the team and the founder,
they wanted me in the office to meet everyone.

Then something unexpected happened.
My tourist visa was refused.

Just like that, the trip stopped.

For a moment it felt like the opportunity disappeared overnight.

But then I realised something even bigger. 
3 years ago, this conversation wouldn’t even exist.

Today it does.

Because I decided to build in public.

Sharing the work.
Sharing the thinking.
Showing up consistently.

This opportunity didn’t happen.
At least not for now.

But once you see doors like this open…
You stop thinking small.

P.S. If anyone has experience traveling to the US as a remote worker, I’d genuinely appreciate any advice.

This week I postponed building my house, lost a client, and barely worked because my dog was sick.

And I’m still expected to show up like everything is fine.

For a few hours, I felt like a fraud.

Posting about growth while 
trying not to panic privately.

That spiral is fast.
But here’s what’s also true.

Revenue is still up.

The house starts in March. 
My marriage is fabulous. 
The business is healthy.

Nothing is collapsing.

Don't play the engagement game at all.

try "Here's what this study actually shows (and what it doesn't)." 

Then break it into 3 punchy bullets that explain the mechanism, the limitation, and why it matters.

Instead, focus on the one post, one audience, one message rule. 

The truth is, 
the battle between virality and scientific accuracy is structurally unfair.

The people spreading misinformation don't need to understand the science. 
It takes one provocative, sensational sentence to mislead millions. 

Those of us trying to share accurate information? 
We need to understand the methodology, acknowledge the limitations, explain the mechanisms, and somehow make it engaging enough that people actually read it.
