Responsible for strategic growth of the firm, les development of new programs and initiatives at the firm, managed the company brand, cultivated new business (B2B) and Client (B2C) relationships, and provided consulting services on current and future client engagements across multiple business lines. Spearheaded growth of the firm from a team of 4 people with one Client and 3 projects, to a team of 20+ people serving over 35 clients on more than 120 projects to date.

Emory is also the Director of the Planning & Urban Design practice at the firm. As a practice director, Emory is responsible for managing project teams, providing guidance to staff, contributing technical input and QAQC review for client deliverables, and ensuring effective project management and delivery. Currently, Emory oversees a project portfolio consisting of a mixture of engineering and sustainability and resiliency projects for public clients such as the NYCDDC, NYCEDC, NYCHHC, NYCDEP, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, and the Battery Park City Authority (BPCA). 

Additionally, Emory has successfully obtained the Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP) credential, qualifying her to evaluate and guide development of civil infrastructure projects through the lens of sustainable design.

Emory is also a credentialed member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) and an active member of the APA NY Metro Chapter Urban Design Committee.

Served as Deputy Director in the Planning, Projections and Demand Management unit of the Bureau of Environmental Planning & Analysis at DEP. In this role, she worked on water conservation, sustainability, and demand management planning efforts as part of the DEP's Water for the Future program (see link below for more information):

Additionally, Emory played a key role in the development of a long-term Water Demand Management plan for the City of New York in support of the Water for the Future program. The Water Demand Management Plan consisted of a comprehensive approach to managing water demand and targeted reductions over the next 8 years. The goal of this plan is to prepare New York City for future water supply shortage conditions, whether natural or man-made, by adapting water infrastructure in the City to be more water efficient, and educating communities about water conservation and smart water use strategies through implementation of incentive programs and outreach efforts. Emory's primary responsibilities included project management, program and budget development, program branding, graphic design, inter-agency coordination and communication, water demand projections and GIS analyses, performing cost-benefit analyses, and supporting design/development of reports and webmap applications for various DEP projects and initiatives.

Deputy Director - Bureau of Environmental Planning & Analysis

Gannett Fleming

Worked as an Assistant Project Manager for a Rail Yard Master Plan project (Confidential Client).  Responsibilities included transportation and rail planning components of the rail yard master planning effort, on-site analysis of existing conditions and verification of infrastructure locations and dimensions, status and impact of current capital projects on the master plan, preparation of existing conditions report, development of graphic imagery for the report and aerial maps to display features of the rail yard.     

Emory also worked on the Newtown Creek Brownfield Opportunity Area Step 2 Nomination study (BOA). She was responsible for data collection, organization and development of report graphics and layout for the Nomination Report on the study area. She also attended public meetings, lectures regarding EPA Superfund designations in the area, and served as acting project manager: overseeing day-to-day aspects of the project, maintaining consistent communication with the client and ensured transparency and coordination among members of the project team.

Emory worked on the development of the Searchable Property Environmental E-Database (SPEED), which enables users to query and display information about vacant or underutilized commercial/industrial properties in NYC. Responsibilities included analysis of approximately 30,000 Sanborn, USGS topographic, aerial photos and other historic maps dating back to 19th century for past land uses and environmental concerns, data entry and tracking, digitizing map features, meeting project team deadlines and developing protocol for data entry and suggesting improvements for the user interface.

inter-agency relationship management and outreach, development of new planning initiatives, grant research and writing, analysis of environmental data / maps and planning issues relating to brownfield properties, and tracking and reporting progress on internal PlaNYC 2030 initiatives.

Emory Lee is the Climate Adaptation & Resilience Lead for Ramboll Group A/S in New York, NY. In this role, Emory supports Ramboll's Water group as part of the Water Infrastructure and Climate Adaptation (WICA) team. Emory's work centers vulnerable populations in community resilience planning and climate action planning, and focuses on how nature-based approaches can inform resilience planning and design for clients. Emory's twin-passions are decarbonization/drawdown and biophilic adaptation and resilience measures.

The WICA team assists city leaders, public departments and urban developers on a global scale, by providing insights, ideas and specific solutions that reduce the risk of flooding and increase livability in cities. Projects in the Ramboll climate adaptation portfolio deliver added value and increase opportunities for recreational activity, improve social cohesion and protect biodiversity. Ramboll's global team of climate adaptation specialists include world-class engineering specialists, hydrologists, urban planners, and landscape architects. 

Most recently, Emory held the position of Senior Vice President at Insight Civil Engineering, PLLC (WBE/DBE/SBE), a certified women-owned business enterprise (WBE) based in New York City. In her role as Senior Vice President, Emory provided oversight and delivery of project management and consulting services to clients, and was responsible for leading business development, client relationship management and digital marketing efforts for the firm. Emory provided high-quality products and services to valued clients across a variety of industries by drawing on her extensive experience in the areas of urban planning, water resource management, facilities management, project management, client relationship management, and graphic design.

Emory formerly worked as a Deputy Director in the Bureau of Environmental Planning and Analysis at the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYCDEP). 

Emory has a B.A. in Business Administration and a B.S. in Economics from Franklin & Marshall College, and a MSCRP in City and Regional Planning from the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY.
