Creating new products for our B2B platform means starting with use cases, sketching wire frames and writing detailed product specifications. Every product feature we build, I test myself and communicate consistently with engineering to deliver scalable solutions.

When I don't work on our core research product I optimize landing pages, test lead generation strategies through case studies and run global research projects for our Fortune 500 clients.

Make sure you celebrate all the single moms out there who are doing this insane efficiency gains sport.

All of them run circles around your “most efficient and productive guy at work”.

Back in 2014, I started developing an interest in international development. A few trips to Western Sahara and the largest slums in Asia and Africa opened my eyes.

Since then, I've spent a large chunk of my spare time volunteering and collaborating with non-profits. I started a local chapter of Engineers Without Borders UK and ran it for nearly 2 years. I organised events with over 50 changemakers. I became a Trustee for a homelessness charity for over a year. I went 3 months volunteering as a Team Leader in a rural village in Nepal. 

Some people spend their life looking for their purpose in life. I was lucky enough to find it at age 25. 

My purpose in life is to change the world / make a difference / make an impact / help those who need it the most / eradicate poverty / end climate change / call it however you want. 

And I've realised that the most impactful thing I can do as an individual in my life is to help connect changemakers so that they can join forces and amplify their impacts. That's why I started Good Ripple - because we do need the good ripple effect that happens when 2 changemakers come together - the power of people gets unleashed. 

I'm committed to dedicating the rest of my life to helping those who need it the most, through empowering the people who are already helping them. And I believe TechForGood is the key to achieving the SDGs by 2030.

I've taken 7 trains in 2 days to come back home from Cádiz (Spain) to Shrewsbury (UK), and they were all on time! 

And last week I took another 7 from Shrewsbury to Cádiz, and also all of them on time. 

I know it's hard to believe, but it's true. 

Typically I only take 1 or 2 trains a month, and they tend to be either delayed or cancelled.

This time it has been a real pleasure. 

Much much better than flying. 

Had lunch with a friend in London. 
Had tasty tacos for dinner in Paris. 
Had lunch with a friend in Barcelona. 
Met a really cool Mexican guy on the train.
Got to explore a bit of Narbonne in France.
Had lunch with another friend in Madrid. 
Enjoyed amazing landscapes. 
Finished reading 3 books. 

Because I was using a 4-day Interrail pass, I was able to change some trains easily and spend more time with my friend in Barcelona. 

The best part? It was a really relaxing and pleasant journey. 

No rush.
No airport controls.
No annoying plane engine noise. 
No commute from airport to city center. 

Yes, it took me 2 days instead of 6 hours door to door. 

Yes, I paid £430 instead of £200. 

And I will do it again if I can. 

Now the thing is, I am very lucky because I can afford taking the train instead of a flight, both from a financial perspective and a time perspective.

Many people can't though. 
They may not have the money.
They may not have the time.

How can we make trains more attractive and accessible?

I'd say making them more reliable (just like for me on this trip - keep it up!).

Making them more affordable (how about shifting oil and gas subsidies to train subsidies?).

Lobbying governments to implement policies to force companies to give extra time off for people chosing to travel without flying. 

And I am sure there are more ways. What do you think?

What if sustainability conferences were inspiring instead of boring? 

What if panels were replaced by citizens assemblies?

What if all the attendees chose the themes, rather than a few organisers?

What if everyone was given a voice, rather than just listening to a few experts?


Last year, I attended the first UnConference of my life. 

I didn't quite understand it until I went there in Birmingham.

When I arrived, I was asked to write my ideas for topics and themes for the day.

I put them all in different post-it notes and sticked them to a whiteboard.

Every other attendee did the same. 

Then the post-its got grouped by common themes, and from them, the sessions for the day were created. 

Each session being 50min long, with a 10min break before the next session.

And you could join whichever session you wanted, with at least 6-10 sessions going on at the same time. 

We met in groups and started discussing the topics that we were most passionate about. 

I learned a lot from real people doing amazing things on the ground. 

It was a beautifully co-created event. 

Rather than being talked at all day.

This year, it's coming back on the 30th October at University College Birmingham. 

And I can highly recommend it if you are looking for something different. 

Last year it made a big difference for me. 

At the UnConference, I met Alex from Film Division, who then went on to do our amazing video at The Good Ripple Experience in London earlier this year. 

And, he and his team have also put together this amazing video about last year's UnConference. 

The ripples of positive impact are very real.
