I love stocks with strong fundamentals, but I love them even more when there's a long-term tailwind pushing them forward.

AI is speeding up the markets, making trends shorter and more volatile with sharper swings. More than ever, you need to move quickly and not always hold out for a pullback before jumping into a new trade.

You need conviction in your strategy so you can handle volatility without doing dumb things. Conviction comes from knowledge + experience.

In most market environments, strong stocks perform extremely well. The exception is bear markets and liquidity crises, where hedging matters most. Otherwise, concentrate on stocks in strong phases. Right now, memory, fiber optics, gold miners, and commodities stand out.

Great managers are great at execution. It’s not only about picking good stocks, but also about position sizing, letting winners run, and cutting losses short. I would argue that execution is even more important than stock picking.

Strategies should be built on first principles. There is no single magic formula in fundamental or technical analysis. You need to understand the concepts that truly make sense and matter most (the 80/20 rule), and have the courage and discipline to execute.

“Are you happy?”

It’s the first thing my husband asks me when we talk about work. Not revenue. Not pipeline. Not what’s next on the calendar.

Are you happy?

For the last four months, my answer has been yes.

That hasn’t always been the case.

There were seasons where I was productive but drained. Successful on paper but disconnected. Saying yes to what made sense, not necessarily what felt right.

Somewhere along the way, I realized something simple but uncomfortable:

If the version of success you are chasing costs you your sense of alignment, it is not actually success.

The shift for me was intentional.

More honest conversations.
More clarity about what I want to build.
More courage to say no to things that look good but feel wrong.

Happiness does not mean every day is easy. It means the direction feels right. It means the work matches the values. It means you recognize yourself in your own life.

If someone asked you that question today, what would your answer be?

I love small group facilitation.

When leaders from different sectors lean in.
When someone shares a real example instead of a polished talking point.
When one insight sparks another.
When you can almost feel ideas building on top of each other in real time.

Small groups have a different rhythm.

They’re more intimate.
More honest.
More generous.

It’s less about presenting and more about listening.
Less about being right and more about learning.

Facilitating those spaces is about holding the structure lightly.
Watching the clock so no one has to.
Making sure every voice has room.
Asking the question that helps the group go one layer deeper.

There’s something powerful about creating a space where people are willing to share what they’re seeing, what they’re struggling with, and what they’re trying.

Not to impress.

To contribute.

That exchange and the cross-pollination of ideas is what I love most.

That’s the work behind the work.

And it never gets old.

Sometimes the hardest part of writing is not the word count.

It’s the thinking.

Before something becomes strategic, fundable, or polished… it usually starts messy.

Half sentences.

Ideas that contradict each other.

A paragraph you delete three times.

That first version is not meant to be impressive.

It’s just you telling yourself the story.

What do we actually believe?
What are we really building?
What problem are we trying to solve?

Clarity for others starts with clarity for yourself.

Today is Lunar New Year.

I am not celebrating it as part of my own cultural tradition, but I care deeply about the people in my life and work who are.

And I always appreciate moments like this that invite reflection.

Different calendars. Different rhythms. Different resets.

We often treat January 1 as the only “fresh start” that counts. But there is something powerful about remembering that new beginnings happen in many ways, in many communities, on many timelines.

If you are celebrating, I hope this year brings you health, steadiness, and meaningful progress.

And if you are not, maybe you can still borrow the reminder:

You do not need permission from the calendar to reset something that matters.

I used to think I’d feel ready.

Ready to start the business.
Ready to submit the proposal.
Ready to raise my hand for the bigger opportunity.
Ready to say yes to something that felt slightly too big.

I thought readiness would feel calm. Clear. Certain.

It doesn’t.

In almost every meaningful step I’ve taken, there was still doubt in the room. 
There were still unanswered questions. There were still parts I had not figured out yet.

What changed over time was not my level of certainty.

It was my tolerance for uncertainty.

The myth of “fully ready” keeps a lot of smart, capable people stuck. Especially the rule followers. Especially the ones who have learned that mistakes have consequences.

We wait until the plan is perfect.
Until the numbers are cleaner.
Until the messaging feels airtight.
Until someone else validates it.

But growth rarely shows up once everything feels controlled.

It shows up when you move with enough clarity to take the next step and enough humility to adjust when you learn something new.

And yes, preparation matters.
But so does momentum.

There is a difference between being reckless and being courageous.

Courage often looks like:
This is not perfect.
But it is aligned.
And I am willing to learn in public.

If you are waiting to feel fully ready before you make your next move, you might be waiting forever.

Maybe the better question is not “Am I ready?”

Maybe it is “Am I ready enough to begin?”

I’ve been pretty heads down this week.

Working through deliverables for clients.

Problem solving in creative ways.

Building out plans for new engagements.

It’s that deep focus work that I really love.
No noise. No rushing between things. Just time to think, map ideas out, and work through challenges properly.

There’s something really freeing about that kind of space. It’s also where the most exciting ideas tend to show up.

Not every week is like this. But when it is, I’m always reminded how much I enjoy the craft of the work itself.

Solving problems. Building plans. Figuring things out.

That part never gets old.

I can overthink a worst-case scenario in about 12 seconds.

I’ll map out:
- what could go wrong
- how it could unravel
- what people might think
- how it might impact everything

It’s impressive, honestly.

But I read something recently that stopped me:
If you can overthink the worst, why can’t you overthink the best?

What if we applied the same energy to:
🎉 imagining the proposal getting approved
🫂 picturing the conversation going really well
🚪 assuming the opportunity opens instead of closes
🎺 believing the room is rooting for us

We’re already creative.

We’re already strategic.

We already know how to run scenarios.

Maybe the work isn’t “stop overthinking.”

Maybe it’s redirect it.

What if the story you rehearsed most often was the one where things worked out?

Just a thought I’m practicing.

Every time the Olympics are on, we see the moment.

The medal.
The anthem.
The tears.
The replay in slow motion.

What we don’t see is the years.

The 5am practices when no one is watching.
The injuries and rehab.
The days when confidence dips but they show up anyway.

And maybe most invisible of all — the team around them.

The coach who sees potential before results.
The physio who keeps them moving.
The nutritionist, the trainer, the sport psychologist.
The family who rearranges life around a dream.
The sponsors who take a bet early.
The teammates who push them in training.

Olympians don’t stand on that podium alone.

They are the visible tip of a very disciplined, very committed ecosystem.

And it’s not that different in business or leadership.

When someone “wins,” launches something big, secures funding, gets the promotion, closes the deal - it’s easy to assume it was talent or timing.

But behind that moment is:

The mentor who challenged them.
The colleague who opened a door.
The friend who listened during doubt.
The team who executed the details.

High performance is rarely solo.

So as you watch the Games this week, cheer for the athlete.
But also remember the invisible circle around them.

None of us do our best work alone.

There’s a lot in the headlines lately about major shifts from changes in procurement policy designed to support key sectors and workforce needs, to teams digging deep in the Winter Olympics. 

And it makes me think about this:

Progress isn’t always linear.

It’s not a straight line from A → B.

Sometimes it’s:
• a policy update that reshapes opportunity
• a team rallying after an early setback
• a training room moment nobody ever sees
• a person trying something hard again and again

Whether it’s athletes chasing Olympic dreams or teams trying to solve big workforce challenges, what unites real progress is this:

effort + consistency + community

A reminder today that what matters most isn’t just where you end up,
it’s how you move toward it together.

There is a moment in almost every skill where things start to feel easier.

Not because the work became simple.

Because you have done it enough times that your brain recognizes the patterns. 

You see what matters faster. You know where to focus.

That moment happened to me this week.

I was reviewing an application for someone and preparing feedback. As I worked through it, the adjustments that were needed felt obvious. The gaps. 

The places where the story could be clearer. The pieces that needed to connect.

The suggestions just rolled off the tongue.

It reminded me how much practice sits behind moments like that.

Years of reading applications. Writing them. Seeing what works. Seeing what does not.

Practice is what creates that shift.

The more time you spend learning the fundamentals, the more room you have later to experiment, adapt, and think creatively.

It applies to almost everything. Leadership. Strategy. Writing. Problem solving.

The early reps may feel repetitive.

They are also what make the interesting work possible later.

This is my reply to every email I've missed since Jan 1st.

It's not you, it's me.

And also it's not me, it's *gestures broadly* all of this. 

It's that I learned about the most horrific thing done to children by the men who run *all of this*, before I even left my bed this morning. 

It's the constant deluge of messages on every platform, and the expectation that we are all always available, everywhere, and if we're not, then we're failing. 

It's that we can work this hard and do this much, and they still laugh at us when they think we're not listening. 

It's all of it. 

It's untenable to live in this reality right now as a woman and a mom, and I'm going to do more about it. But in the meantime,  I do apologize for missing your email. 

But I want you to know, it is absolutely not you. 

I love you.
