I founded 3 Media Web in 2001 and served as CEO for over 20 years, transforming a solo venture into an award-winning digital agency serving mid-size and enterprise clients globally.

Under my leadership, the agency grew into a high-performing team of developers, designers, marketers, and strategists recognized for delivering complex digital projects with consistency, creativity, and measurable results. We specialized in designing, developing, and marketing WordPress-based websites that aligned with our clients' business goals and delivered ROI.

We partnered with leading brands such as IBM, Extreme Networks, Rocket Software, ModusLink, Dassault Systèmes, Pilot Pen, Saint-Gobain, and SOLIDWORKS — helping them drive inbound traffic, generate qualified leads, and improve digital performance.

I emphasized strategic planning, operational excellence, and a client-first mindset, establishing 3 Media Web’s reputation as a trusted, relationship-driven “un-agency” committed to long-term success. The foundation built during this time continues to support the agency’s evolution and resilience.

Brighton House Associates

At BHA, I served as the Chief Technology Officer, where I spearheaded the company's long-term vision by harnessing next-generation technologies. My key accomplishment was the design and evolution of the BHA Select Network, transforming how investment firms connected and collaborated. I built a robust internal technology development and support division, ensuring optimal performance across various facets.

I oversaw the entire technological infrastructure, from employee workstations and internal networks to the VoIP system and corporate web presence. My role extended to managing our external data center and meeting intricate customer support needs. My leadership involved strategic outsourcing to external developers and orchestrating an effective hiring process, from interviewing to onboarding. With a globally dispersed team, I ensured seamless project management and provided unwavering IT support. Additionally, I maintained and enhanced relationships with all external technology vendors.

Ascential Software

Ascential Software Corporation was a premier enterprise data integration solution provider to global organizations. Clients employed the Ascential Enterprise Integration Suite, ensuring accurate, complete, and timely integration of data across various applications.

Previously located in Westborough, Mass., Ascential Software operated international offices and served over 3,000 clients in sectors including financial services, telecommunications, healthcare, life sciences, manufacturing, consumer goods, retail, and government.

IBM acquired the company in May 2005.

In my role, I oversaw full-cycle project leadership and frequently utilized Dreamweaver and Photoshop.

As a web developer, I was pivotal in both development and creative capacities within a dedicated web team. My daily tasks included traditional webmaster duties and website management. I crafted site layout/user interfaces from given designs, orchestrated the positioning and design of website pages, and engineered robust, user-friendly web applications.

One of my core initiatives is implementing AI to drive operational efficiency, streamline workflows, and future-proof the agency. I’m focused on ensuring that 3 Media Web becomes not just AI-aware, but AI-aligned — enhancing how we research, collaborate, execute, and deliver value to clients.

I originally founded 3 Media Web in 2001 and grew it into an award-winning digital agency serving mid-size to enterprise clients across industries. Our team has partnered with global brands like IBM, Extreme Networks, Rocket Software, and SOLIDWORKS to design and manage websites that drive traffic, generate leads, and deliver ROI.

I’ve always believed in being more than just a vendor — we’re the “un-agency,” working side-by-side with our clients in a shared sense of ownership and success.

Beyond the CEO title, I continue to embrace my role as Chief Helper — supporting the team, collaborating with partners, guiding strategy, and being 3 Media Web’s biggest cheerleader.

I’m a Google Certified professional, a web presence and SEO expert, and I’m energized by the opportunity to mentor others, share knowledge, and lead with purpose in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

I’m the proud founder of The Helen Brown Group LLC, a full-service fundraising research consulting firm based near Boston, Massachusetts. In 2021 I founded DAFinitive®, a tool to help nonprofits find information about donor advised funds.

An involved leader and volunteer in the prospect research community, I'm a former board member of Apra (formerly the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement), and have served as an Apra volunteer as committee chair, task force member, and speaker for more than a decade. In 2017, I was honored to receive the Apra Distinguished Service Award.

Regionally, I was past president of NEDRA (the New England Development Research Association) and in 2006, I was proud to receive the NEDRA Ann Castle Award for service to the prospect research community.

Internationally I have served as a non-executive director for Factary Ltd, in Bristol, England and as Advisor on Fundraising to the North American Foundation for the University of Manchester. I'm a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Arts (RSA) and a frequent participant in Researchers in Fundraising conferences in London.

In 2013, I co-authored "Prospect Research for Fundraisers; the essential handbook" published by Wiley & Sons for the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Development Series.
