Like many creative generalists, I live between sticky notes, Notion docs, WhatsApp reminders, and new startup ideas that always feel more exciting than the last.

So I’m doing what I do best: building for the mess I live in.

Momenteel actief als coördinator van circulaire economieprojecten bij Werecircle. In deze rol draag ik bij aan de ontwikkeling en implementatie van innovatieve projecten gericht op het opzetten en bevorderen van circulaire processen richting een circulaire economie. De projecten waar ik aan bijdraag zijn voornamelijk gefocust op kunststoffen maar ik werk ook mee aan projecten in de fietssector en in educatie.

Tijdens mijn studie Idea & Innovation Management vervulde ik mijn afstudeerstage bij TPO-agency (SUMSUM) in de rol van projectmanager. Ik nam deel aan het stageproject 'Brainhouse', een initiatief gericht op sociale impact. Voor de inaugurale editie van dit project bundelden zes stagiaires, elk met hun eigen specialisatie, hun krachten om een softwaretool te ontwikkelen die ALS-patiënten ondersteunt bij het surfen op het internet. Dit project werd uitgevoerd in samenwerking met de ALS Liga. Als projectmanager en scrum master was het mijn taak om de ontwikkeling van deze tool soepel en efficiënt te laten verlopen.

In het kader van onze bachelorproef kreeg ik samen met twee studiegenoten de unieke mogelijkheid om een project uit te voeren in samenwerking met de NMBS. Onze missie was het ontwikkelen van een model voor open innovatie, bedoeld om de NMBS toegankelijker te maken voor open innovatieprocessen en samenwerkingen met startups. Dit project resulteerde in een strategisch ontwikkelde aanpak, gerealiseerd in nauwe samenwerking met het innovatieteam van de NMBS.

Hello! I'm Wietse Vanmeerbeeck, a Circular Economy Project Coordinator at Werecircle. My role involves driving innovative projects that advance circular economy practices, with a focus on plastics, the bicycle sector, and healthcare . I am dedicated to fostering a sustainable future where people, society, and nature coexist harmoniously.

I hold a Bachelor's in Idea & Innovation Management and a Banaba in Advanced Business Management - Circular Entrepreneurship. These studies equipped me with expertise in innovation, circularity, and project management. My prior experiences at TPO-Agency, NMBS, and the City of Leuven have honed my skills in project facilitation, which I now utilize at Werecircle.

Outside work, I'm passionate about parkour coaching at Springstofparkour, and guiding adventurous trips for young adults at Mundero.
