I was one post away from surrendering
Out of ideas
Out of energy
My content pillars felt like they were covered in dust.

Nothing was coming to me while I was melting into that lazy couch.
Then out of nowhere…
I made a tiny decision.

Instead of forcing a post
I started playing in the comments.
Replying 
Joking 
Writing like a kid who just lost his toy.

And somehow… that brought me back.
It reminded me this platform was never just about posting
It’s about participation
Funny thing is the moment I stopped writing for founders
and started writing for myself
the words came back.

Because momentum doesn’t disappear
We just disconnect from it

I made 7 mistakes when I started on LinkedIn.

Here's what they were:

1. Blindly following LinkedIn gurus

- Copying their strategies without understanding my audience
- Trying to replicate their success without context

2. Generic content overload

- Sharing motivational quotes daily
- Posting random business tips without value

3. Growth without direction

- No specific target audience
- Scattered content themes

4. Overly aggressive brand voice

- Too many caps and emojis
- Trying too hard to stand out

5. Distracted engagement

- Multitasking during networking
- Low-quality comments while eating

6. Random networking

- No clear connection strategy
- Accepting every connection request

7. Neglecting real life

- Missing daily walks
- Forgetting work-life balance

The truth is, building a LinkedIn presence takes intention and strategy.

Not just random actions hoping for results.

Now I focus on:
• Strategic connections
• Balanced approach
• Authentic content
• Real value first

The room is quiet.

Your laptop light is the only thing still awake.

and you’re staring at a to-do list
that looks like five different job descriptions.

12 tabs.
Three half-written ideas.
Two unanswered emails.

And one heavy thought:

“Maybe I just need to learn more.”

SEO.
Paid ads.
Better hooks.
Funnels.
Design.

Maybe the problem wasn’t clarity.
Maybe it was me.
That’s the trap.
When your role feels blurry
you start collecting skills like armor.
You convince yourself that if you just master one more thing
you’ll finally feel in control.

the deeper problem:
You’re not overwhelmed because you lack ability.

You’re overwhelmed because you lack definition.

When you don’t decide who you are in your own business
you try to become everyone.

The marketer.
The strategist.
The closer.
The operator.
The visionary.
And slowly, your creative energy gets diluted.

The shift?

Instead of asking:

“What else should I learn?”

Ask:

“What is my actual role here?”
Clarity removes 80% of the pressure.
Six months from now

I just noticed something
a picture of someone holding a whiteboard saying

“Be kind.”
“Believe in yourself.”
“Be…” whatever…

Gets massive attention

Meanwhile a solo founder is out there
overthinking a long-form post
solving a real problem
sharing actual insight…
and it gets nothing.
Maybe a few polite likes.
But

People don’t always scroll to solve problems.

They scroll to feel something first.
Between emotion and expertise…
there’s a sweet spot.
I call it Value–Signal Friction
Where your message isn’t dumbed down
But it’s packaged so people actually notice it.

So if you’ve got a whiteboard in your garage collecting dust…
Write something real on it.
Post it.

So I removed a lot of connections.
Who were they?

How did they behave?

No engagement on my content.
Connection request? Alright, I accept (based on mutual connections).
Linked with a few words like “I promise you won’t send again”
(it’s not funny believe me).
Links from untrusted sites.
Huge volume of intense follow-ups like I owe them something.

Again I want to make it clear:

Study your buyer persona first
I’m not the one
And honestly?
This isn’t about being rude
It’s about protecting focus

Because lately… things are getting serious
Attention is currency.
Trust is built slowly.
and boundaries are not optional anymore.

P.S. I know this might sound a bit mean.
But clarity is kinder than fake politeness.
