1 Year Ago Today I Ran My First Marathon 

26.2 miles ✔️ 

At the time, it felt like a physical accomplishment. 

Looking back now, I realize it was a complete mental shift. 

Since then, my life has expanded in ways I couldn’t have predicted. 

For years I’ve wanted to:
- own investment real estate
- become a real estate broker
- build something bigger than just “closing deals”

But if I’m being honest, there was always a lot of fear in the way. 

Fear of inadequacy.
Fear of responsibility. 
Fear of playing at a higher level.

The marathon forced in me a new standard. 

It’s funny, because you still don’t “feel ready” at mile 18 when you hit a wall. But there’s zero negotiating at that point. You’re already locked in. You finish the race. 

That same mindset carried into my business. 

Since then, I’ve 
- stepped into ownership
- expanded my vision for my brokerage
- committed to building at a higher level 

Running didn’t change my life. 

Raising my standards did. 

Year 2 is about compressing time and achieving my goals faster. 

Speed without direction is wreckless..

But speed with purpose?

First race of 2026 was a 5k in iconic Miami Beach 🏝️ 

Usually I opt for the longer distances, but the 13.1 was sold out by the time I signed up so I knew this would be a different kind of race for me. 

I wasn’t there to prove anything this time — I just wanted to have a joyful race and enjoy myself in Miami Beach. 

It almost felt like I was leaving something on the table at first… I knew I had more in the tank 

but then I realized that running the race is more important than stretching the distance. 

Watching everyone out there, all ages and shapes and sizes, it’s a different kind of energy. 

You can see that everyone is looking for the silver bullet — the perfect algorithm — for achieving happiness and fulfillment. 

Running, for me, has always been a great way to do that. 

I don’t have all the answers, but long distance running does something for me that I can’t seem to find in the gym. 

It’s like an active meditation that stretches my mind, tests my endurance, and gives me the initiative to push past any mental barriers. 

It’s challenging and peaceful at the same time.

After years of fine-tuning, my algorithm is simple: 

I run for the mental, lift for the physical, actively seek counsel for the battlefield of business, and I thank the man above for giving me the ability to do it all.
