I have a deep passion for traveling to immerse and explore new cultures. Eight years ago, I went on a life-changing solo backpacking trip through Central America, which inspired my move to Buenos Aires a year later. I moved abroad to gain Spanish fluency, grow and expand my mindset while immersing in new cultures. While working towards my coaching certification, I supported local candidates with career coaching and job search support. During my time in the city, I also created a fully remote career and lifestyle.

My career transitions, recruiting/HR background, remote work experience, life experiences traveling and living abroad, and coaching journey have fueled my passion for helping others find more fulfillment in their career and lifestyle. In 2018, I left my in-office job for remote work so I'd have the flexibility to explore Argentina, the country I'd recently moved to.

I didn't expect it to teach me more about myself than any office job ever did.

I thought remote work was just about freedom and flexibility.

Turns out, it taught me more about how I actually thrive than any career shift ever had.

As someone who is more introverted, in-office environments often drained me:
→ open floor plans
→ frequent interruptions
→ back-to-back meetings

I'd come home exhausted, even when I was doing work I enjoyed.

Remote work changed that. It allowed me to optimize my energy for how I best work:
→ deep morning focus without disruption
→ a workspace I could design for myself
→ flexibility to move between my space, cafes, and coworking based on what I need that day, or when I want to lean into more extroverted energy and collaboration

So while I initially went after remote work for the flexibility to travel and explore... it actually gave me clarity on what I need to do my best work.

But here's what surprised me: the clarity didn't just come from the work model itself.

It came from finally having the *space* to understand myself more deeply. The ability to optimize my energy for my work.

So rather than asking yourself, "Is remote better than hybrid or in-office?"
Ask yourself: "What model helps me thrive?"

The beauty isn't that one option is superior to another. It's that we finally have the opportunity to choose and to design work around how we thrive, and what works best for us.

Remote work is inner work. 

The more you understand yourself, the more you can design your work to best support your well-being and fulfillment.

1.  Make it a target to apply to jobs posted in the last 7-10 days. This can help you avoid ghost job postings. Sort by the 'posting date' to prioritize new opportunities.  

2.  Don't just apply online. Find a recruiter or team member on LinkedIn and ask if the role is actively being filled (especially for roles posted 3+ weeks ago). Getting a response from a real person is a great way to spot a ghost job.

3. Your Weekly Dose of Mindset ✨: Every rejection builds your resilience muscle. The more you put yourself out there: applying to stretch roles, reaching out on LinkedIn, asking for referrals, the less scary it gets. Lean into the discomfort for growth and confidence.

Some people spend decades climbing a ladder they hate.

I spent the last decade building a life I actually want to live.

Here's the difference:
If I had stayed in corporate public accounting, climbing a ladder I didn't even want to be on, I honestly don't know where I'd be right now. 

Likely trapped in a life that felt empty.

And given the severe burnout I experienced, maybe even a hospital bed.

Instead, I chose to leave. And everything shifted:
 → The career pivot to HR and people-focused work
 → The transformative solo backpacking through Central America
 → Moving to Argentina without ever visiting first
 → Finding remote work where I could finally bring my authentic self
 → Living my dream to travel South America while doing fulfilling work
 → Building a heart-aligned coaching business

Over a decade of growth, expansion, and designing a career where I can show up fully as myself and live how and where I want.

And what made it all possible? *Deeper self-knowledge.*

Remote work is inner work.

It's being honest about where you are right now and what you actually want (...not just what looks good on paper).

It's deepening your understanding of yourself and what truly lights you up.

It's designing work that fits your life…not the other way around.

So if you're showing up 8+ hours a day feeling trapped, numb, or empty, whether in-office, hybrid, or even remote...you. deserve. more.

You have a full life to live. A life that is true to you.

One of my most fulfilling projects during my time in Buenos Aires has been bridging the community of foreigners and locals through intentional connection events.

This past weekend, we held our first Intentional Community Walk of 2026, and it reminded me why I love hosting these events, especially with two amazing co-hosts, Michelle McDonald and Hanif Carroll.

👉🏼 Here's how it works:
I was inspired by a similar event in Austin last year and brought the concept here. We've been refining it as we go!

👉🏼 Before the walk:
1. We create a custom form with intentional questions for participants about why they're joining, their values and interests, language preference (Spanish or English), and what they hope to gain from the experience.

2. We share the form across our community networks and other Buenos Aires groups, giving people about a week to sign up.

3. Once registration closes, we use AI to help create thoughtful pairings based on the form responses.

👉🏼 The actual event:
1. We meet at a cafe next to Bosques de Palermo to grab coffees before we start the walk.

2. As hosts, we get a list of all attendees present and drop the names into AI to make any needed adjustments to the pairs, finalizing our list for the two rounds of the walk.

3. We give the group a question prompt to spark conversation. For example, this weekend one prompt was: "What's a recent conversation that sparked your curiosity to research and explore the topic deeper?"

4. We split into our first pairs and do a full lap around the park, walking, chatting, and connecting (about 20-25 minutes)

5. After regrouping, we switch to new pairs with a new question prompt and take another loop around the park.

✨ The pairing twist: We intentionally create two different types of pairs. One based on shared interests and values (common ground conversations), and another based on differences (perspective-expanding conversations). This aligns with one of our core values of sharing from unique perspectives. 

👉🏼 After the walk:
We head to a nearby choripan stand and enjoy an outdoor picnic in the sunshine as a group.

Honestly, this may be a favorite event I’ve ever hosted, and here’s why:
1.  Movement + sunshine + meaningful conversations = an ideal combo
2.  As a host, I get to fully enjoy it! Most planning happens beforehand, with AI streamlining our pairing process
3. Ending with an outdoor picnic on a beautiful day in Buenos Aires ☀️

What started 3 years ago from pure passion and a desire for intentional community here in Buenos Aires has taught me so much. More to come on that.

There's something indescribable about watching your two worlds collide on a screen at a Super Bowl halftime show.

Bad Bunny used that stage to celebrate so much of what living in Latin America has taught me about joy, connection, and what it means to live fully and authentically.

What made this performance unforgettable:

1. Unapologetic joy. In a time that feels heavy globally, he brought joy and celebration. The music, the energy, the pure alegría. It was magnetic. Joy as a powerful force of connection and resistance.

2. Radical self-expression. The dancing, the movement, the freedom. This is what I've learned living in Latin America. Life isn't meant to be rigid or controlled. It's meant to be FELT, fully and unapologetically. An authentic expression of YOU.

3. Intentional inclusivity. The way he wove together music, history, culture, and tradition was a beautiful and authentic celebration of diversity. It was a powerful reminder that our differences make us vibrant, richer, and stronger together.

4. The small, human moments. Kids sleeping on chairs during the wedding scene, a Latin American family party staple. The powerful Grammy handoff moment. Small moments that were both real and deeply meaningful.

5. Honoring roots while embracing unity. He fiercely celebrated Puerto Rico while also honoring the Americas as a whole (North and South alike). He masterfully held both deep pride in his roots and a celebration of connection and unity across borders.

6. The power of self-belief. His story, success, and presence radiate this message. But he literally spoke it out: "It's because I never, NEVER stopped believing in myself. And you should also believe in yourself. You're worth more than you think. Believe me."

And that billboarded message. Impossible to miss: "The only thing more powerful than hate is love." 

Watching this performance from Argentina airing at Levi's Stadium, my home stadium in California, while hearing him list and celebrate the countries that have become part of my heart and soul, hit me deeply.

Seeing these parts that have formed my identity come together unexpectedly on that screen.

And I know I'm not the only one who felt this performance profoundly. 

Most importantly, Bad Bunny reminded us all of something we desperately needed: Hope exists. Joy is always possible. Love wins.
