TechCrunch

As the interim Director of Events at TechCrunch I was responsible for organizing, mobilizing, and leading the event team, event participants, internal stakeholders, and administrators for the successful execution of each TechCrunch event.
*Lead the event operations team, managing a team of five ops and account managers through the production of hybrid TechCrunch owned and operated events, online partner events, and weekly TechCrunch Live webinars.
*Acted as the liaison between event ops and the executive team, leading weekly reporting and steering meetings.
*Supervised the production process of each event, ensuring that all aspects of the event were executed within budget and on time according to the production schedule.
*Coordinated with and supported the sales and marketing team to ensure all aspects of the events were delivered as contracted/advertised.
*Oversaw requests from the editorial and production teams to ensure on-stage needs were met within budget.
*Served as the gatekeeper to event expenses, keeping to the established budgets.
*Ensured all events were staffed appropriately, hired contractors and vendors where necessary
*Monitored and mentored the account management team to ensure all pre-event, on-site, and post-event deliverables were being completed.
*Onsite lead for the operations and sales team while ensuring all timelines, plans, policies, and budgets were adhered to.
*Delivered post-event analysis and data to senior internal stakeholders.

Throughout my tenure at First Round, I provided high-level executive support to multiple General Partners and Principals, managing their demanding professional and personal calendars, complex travel logistics, and day-to-day operations. Navigating ever-changing priorities, I ensured seamless scheduling, optimized time management, and facilitated smooth coordination across teams, investors, and portfolio companies. My ability to anticipate needs, troubleshoot challenges, and maintain efficiency in a high-pressure environment was critical to supporting the firm’s leadership.

In addition to my role as an Executive Assistant, I oversaw the West Coast office operations, managing multiple office moves and buildouts to support the firm’s rapid growth. I handled day-to-day operations to ensure a productive and efficient workspace, not only for the internal Investment Team but also for the many Portfolio Companies we incubated, providing Founders with the resources and support needed to thrive.

Oversaw both internal and external events from concept to execution, leading initiatives that brought together Founders, investors, and industry tech leaders. Spearheaded strategic event programming to foster portfolio connections, drive engagement, and strengthen the firm’s network within the tech ecosystem.
