Here's the story of how and why I went from providing marketing services to business services as a consultant.

I was working as a consultant at small company, and we had gone from $100k in revenue to $500k in less than six months, and we were a cinch to go to $1 million in another six. 

In December, right before the holidays, the operations manager came to me and said, "we may not make payroll this week." 

That was impossible. I knew there were contracts coming in, and I knew billing was up. I did some digging.

What I didn't know was that invoices were not going out. They hadn't gone out for two months, and we were in the third month already, so that made it three months of nothing coming in.

It changed my perspective on business entirely, 

I spent the next two days getting invoices out, meeting with the owners, operations manager and the accountant to review all SOPs. 

Then I did a deep dive into the frameworks that define business success. The rest they say is history.
