ok so let's say I woke up today & suddenly no longer a data analyst. 
here's exactly what i'd do 👇

1. learn excel, sql, tableau. that's it. not every tool. just those 3.
2. explore data titles. there's way more than just "data analyst"
3. build projects. project experience is still experience
4. create a portfolio. projects that nobody can see don't count
5. fix your resume & linkedin. that's literally all recruiters see
6. apply. a lot. like 100+ applications a lot
7. ignore interviews… until you actually get one. then cram.
 
that's the whole roadmap.
rinse + repeat 
 
and honestly? if i did those 7 things consistently i genuinely think i'd get hired.

i think you'd get hired too.

Been thinking about the future of data analytics a lot w/ the rise of AI. Personally, I'm not scared - but I'm watching very closely. Here's what I think the future may look like: 

I think most white-collar jobs will look fairly different, eventually. Maybe not in the next 1-3 years, but in the next 5+. For those in data + tech, an abstraction layer is being built. 

I think software development is the best example. You use to program in 1's and 0's. Now it's syntax and functions. Soon it will be mostly via natural language. 

Data will be similar. We forget the history of data analytics. 11 years ago, Power BI didn't even exist. Tableau was still new. Want a dashboard? That will be $20,000 and hundreds of hours. 

Soon you'll just dictate what you want your dashboard to look like. So, elephant in the room is this question. Does that mean data analyst jobs are dead?

I don't think so. I think they'll just change. You'll use different tools. You'll do different work. But here's the biggest change everyone is going to need to process.

How to do things matters less and less.
What to do and when to do it matters more and more. 

Pause. Please reread it. 

I think it's important to understand...


We will live in a world where agents in 5+ years will be able to almost do anything we want. But knowing what we should do and when, that will be the key. 

-> You need to learn to think as a Data Analyst more
-> You need to analyze like a Data Analyst less 

It's a nuanced point - one I'm still figuring out.

⚰️ Goodbye Data Analysts

Will AI take over data analyst jobs? 

I don't think so. But it will change how we work. Big time. And honestly, it's a good thing. Instead of memorizing SQL commands, you'll just tell it what you need, and boom, it's done. Instead of spending all the time on producing code, you can actually spend your time analyzing more. 

More efficiency. Less busy work. 

Don't be afraid of AI.
Leverage it.

As a content creator, it’s actually 𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘺 difficult to know how your content is 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 performing.
