If your resume reads like a detailed record of your entire career, it’s time to make some edits.

Here’s how to fix it:

🍊 Put the job title you’re targeting right under your name. It instantly tells the hiring manager that you’re in the right place.

🍊Make the first bullet point in every section be the one most relevant to the role you're applying for 

(Not simply the most impressive thing you did or the thing you did most often).

Most recruiters never read beyond it.

And yes, that means your most impressive accomplishment might not even make the cut.

🍊 Delete resume bullets.

If it doesn’t directly address a skill that the job is asking for, delete it.

A resume isn’t about showing everything you’ve done.

It’s about showing you’re the right fit for this job.

“Are you interviewing elsewhere?” - There's one answer to this question.

Many people panic when asked this in a job interview, thinking that if they say yes, the company will lose interest. 

It's actually the opposite.

The answer to this question is: Yes.

Companies want candidates who are in demand.

If you’re getting interviews, it signals that your skills are valuable and others see your potential, too.

You’re not being disloyal by interviewing elsewhere. You’re a professional exploring opportunities, exactly what strong candidates do.

If they ask which types of roles, keep your answer consistent with the one you’re applying for. 

And if you’re interviewing with a well-known company, name dropping it  can actually make you more appealing.

And if you haven’t had any other interviews yet, you can still say:

“I’m in the early stages right now.”

December can feel like a throwaway month.

Work slows down, people are on holiday mode, and it’s tempting to coast.

But this is actually one of the best times to move your career forward quietly.

You don’t need to hustle through the holidays. 

But here are a few low lift things you can do:

🍊Take time to reflect.

Notice what energized you this year and what drained you.

🍊Reconnect with people.

A quick “Happy Holidays” message or a short note of appreciation can go further than you think.

What I like to do is update people on how I've been doing this year, shoot them a digital Christmas card, and open a dialogue for them to do the same. 

🍊And if you can, pay it forward.

Offer to review a friend’s resume, make an intro, or simply encourage someone who’s in a tough season. 

Give back and end the year on a happy serotonin kick. 

You’ll end the year stronger and start the next one with momentum.

Raise your hand if you went into your “dream” career, only to be royally disappointed 🙋‍♀️

When interviewers ask, “How do you prioritize your work?” most candidates start spinning a word salad:

“I have a notebook… I use a project management software…”

It’s fine, but it’s forgettable.

What they really want to know: 

Are you organized? Can you handle competing priorities?

The best way to answer this is to give a real example.

For instance:

“Last month I had three projects with the same deadline. I broke each project into key milestones, scheduled time blocks, and communicated updates to stakeholders. That way, everything stayed on track, and nothing slipped through the cracks.”

You're giving a real world example, and they go, wow, this person is organized.

One way interviews are getting VERY common. Here is how to ace them.

HireVue is one of the main platforms that does one  way interviews.

The way it works is the video is for recruiters to watch, and the transcript is for AI to evaluate.

Therefore, focus on having high energy and speaking naturally (not from a script) so that recruiters don’t quickly skip your video.

Then for the transcript evaluated by AI, focus on practicing the common questions asked in these interviews (I included them in this video).

Additionally, HireVue evaluates candidates in other ways:
🍊 Games - timed games that measure things like memory, spatial reasoning, and logic.
🍊 Skill tests - like finding errors in information, reading ability, and code challenges.
🍊 Personality assessments - respond to statements that then create a personality profile.
🍊 Qualification questions  - answering things like: how many years of experience do you have in sales?

What a world we are living in. Interviewing is shifting BIG TIME.

Presenter on National and EU Sources of Funding for Roma Inclusion

Through my career I have gained a significant experience as a Grant Manager engaged in the programs that provided financial support to other organizations as well as project proposal assessor for various contracting authorities. I have a record of supporting activities and development of approximately 50 non-profit and grassroots organizations and assessed over close to 400 project proposals in the field of inclusion, employment and education of vulnerable and marginalized groups as well as civic initiatives.

Besides I have extensive experience as a Project Manager in non-profit and civic organizations. I have worked with and contributed to missions of a number of Croatian national and local as well as international organizations, including CARE International and Roma Education Fund. During my career I successfully managed a number of small to medium-range projects (10,000-3,8 mil. EUR) funded by various donors, including EC Delegation in Croatia, EC DG Near, Croatian contracting authorities, Norway Grants, CIDA, SIDA, Velux Foundations, etc. 

While being passionate about development and improvement of social conditions of people in need, I am also passionate about leadership development, and learning and development that contribute to positive organizational culture and values, and organizational development. I am interested in people, their wellbeing and their development what has reflected in my attention to development of each person in the teams that I managed and coordinated. This passion of mine, as well as my direct experience in talent recruitment and selection, influenced my decision to further develop my knowledge and skills in the field of human resources (HR) and coaching. 

Education wise, I possess BA degree in education, M.A. in Social Development Practice, MSc in Human Resources (HR) Management and Development (International Development), and training in Jungian coaching. In addition, I am currently acquiring my PMP certification. 

Apart from the knowledge and skills gained through formal and non-formal education, my work experience equipped me with a number of transferrable skills that can be utilized in any organization. The experience of living and working in three different countries as well as working with organizations with multi-country operations has contributed to my understanding of diversity and different cultures.
