A dream come true 🥹



I set out to make younger me proud this year. To give the version of Lyndsee, who thrived in art class and daydreamed about pictures she wanted to paint, a chance to explore. To revisit the little version of me that would color and draw to her heart’s content.

My muse: the young woman who applied and got accepted to art school, believing her days would be spent in the studio covered in paint, but was deterred by those that told her there was 'no money in pursuing art!

But it was never about the money. It was about seeing, and feeling, and creating. It was about something tangible, putting hand to paper; layering and playing and building. My mind made manifest in colors and shapes.

This year I decided to pursue my art earnestly. To make time for it and to get back to what fills my soul. And for the first time I got to see it hanging in a gallery in London 🥹

If it's important, then I'm going to make time for it and I'm going to do everything I can to achieve it.

Thanks to those who have supported me and cheered me on the whole way; those who continue to show up for me physically and emotionally. I'm so proud of this moment and grateful to have you along for the ride. So grateful for all of the new friends this journey is introducing me to and excited for all that lies ahead 🥰

I was feeling adrift at the end of last year.


Things—𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨—weren’t working.

I felt unsure about my work,
Confused by where to go and what to do next,
Anxious about committing to anything,
And was stuck in a cerebral loop.

So I decided that I was finally ready to seek help from a coach.

I needed some guidance.

Because solopreneurship can feel really lonely and overwhelming.

And even when you have a support system, no one quite gets exactly what you’re navigating, both externally and internally.

And after a call with Karen Canham, NBC-HWC, E-RYT I knew she was exactly the coach I’d been waiting for, and why I hadn’t yet chosen to work with someone else.

With Karen’s guidance and the work we committed to for three months, I began to unpack what the concerns and emotions I’d been experiencing for the last six months were rooted in.

🫠 This near-constant fear of “the other shoe dropping” versus being excited about how things had been progressing.

😬 This heaviness of succeeding and a pressure of making it on my own.

😑 This fear of abandonment and anxiety around money, stability, and security.

Because it was all a part of my internal narrative, and a nervous system that needed regulating.

So I listened to my body, visited that deep inner knowing and, during a somatic meditation, I found self trust again.

Instead of feeling 𝙩𝙤𝙤 𝙢𝙪𝙘𝙝, it started feeling like I was able to compartmentalize these domineering thoughts. I was able to realize that I could trust myself, my instincts, and my capabilities.

And with some clarity, my needs and desires became more clear too.

I wanted to embrace my creativity.

Then I saw an ad on Instagram that was like a sign from the Universe.

I wanted to be a working artist.

I wanted to give that version of me who had planned to attend art school, spending everyday in a studio covered in paint, and who had always wanted to be an artist when she grew up some space to explore that very pursuit.

She was still there.

She never left.

She just got pushed to the side while I was trying to do a million other things.

So I’m doing it!

I created a few new pieces in January and got them accepted into a small community show in London next month 🥰

I’m prioritizing my art (as I put on my mood board)

I’m taking risks (pursuing what I want for myself)

I’m listening to the Universe (taking more creative projects in addition to my writing)

It’s a lot, it’s different, and it’s just one area of work that I’m putting my energy towards, but it’s fun and fulfilling.

I was standing in front of a room full of people I’d just met.



We’d been doing introductions, so I told them I was a ghostwriter and content creator, then we went on about our business…



Three months later I got a message on LinkedIn from one of the people in that room.

She said a friend of hers had asked if they knew any ghostwriters and she “immediately thought of” me!

That referral turned into a paid project.

That project turned into the achieved goal of the client.

That connection turned into trust and possible future endeavors.

So, that’s the reminder: 𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝙥𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙙𝙤.

You never know when it might result in:

- an introduction
- a referral
- an opportunity
- a friend

“Maybe you’re already doing it..”

This is what someone said to me a long time ago.

I’d been telling them about how I’d been in a car accident, junior year of high school. “I’ve been in a helicopter,” I said, “but I don’t remember it. Actually, I don’t remember four weeks of my life. They thought they were going to have to reteach me how to walk, talk, and feed myself.”

I wish I could remember who I was talking to (blame the brain injury), but I’ve also told the story many times.

It always makes me reminisce: “Thankfully they didn’t have to. I didn’t have to start all over. I think it’s because I was meant to do something great with my life.”

“Maybe you’re already doing it,” they said.

This week alone I have never felt that statement more.

𝘐 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘮𝘢𝘺𝘣𝘦 𝘐 𝘢𝘮 𝘢𝘭𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘺 𝘥𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘵.

Having an existential conversation with my Uber driver, broadening our understanding of human behavior in a 45-minute ride from the airport. A new forever friend.

Not shying away from my nurse telling me, “It’s a scary time for people who look like me. I pray for the safety of my children every day.” “I know,” I said, “I’m so sorry. I hope that there are more of us that see how wrong this is and would be willing to stand up for one another.” “There is,” he said. “There is more good than evil.”

Meeting Zenia, a coffee shop owner in Hackney, and her patrons, Peter and Clark, two elderly gentleman walking in arm and arm to have an afternoon tea. “That’s an attractive accent,” Peter said, “where are you from?”

Speaking with the ladies in a secondhand shop, talking about vintage clothes and the style from their younger years. Their eyes sparkling as they think back to those times.

Maybe my friendliness, my willingness to speak with people and actually see them and listen to them, are making a difference.

Maybe that smile to a stranger while walking down the sidewalk makes a difference.

Maybe that “Aw thank you, you’re the best!” really does hit the chef in the heart when he sits my gorgeous (and very tasty) pizza down on my table and preemptively brings a takeaway box.

Maybe I am creating ripples.

Maybe I am setting a different model.

Maybe I am making a difference one encounter at a time.

I guess there’s a lot we could be doing with our time here. May we be leaving the world better than we found it.
