I ran a content challenge for my clients over the past few weeks.

Some messages I’ve had:

→ “This challenge has been awesome can’t lie”
→ “It was EXTREMELY easy to come up with it once I had the prompt”
→ “I’m on fire this evening and I’ve literally been writing for about 30 minutes”
→ It came naturally, it doesn’t feel forced or salesy at all - I like it”

→ “It was really good, really simple to write because it was more about the mission”

And my fave ↓

I didn’t do it because they needed help writing. All of them can write really well.

It was direction they needed.

There are 1,000s of content ideas out there. And your brain easily gets overwhelmed when you try to think of them all.

But limit your thinking to:

→ 9 Principles
→ A handful of angles for each
→ A structure to use each time

You get words on a page a lot quicker (and get buyers to see you). 

Remember: Resonance is the way forwards. Not reach.

Focus on resonating with the right people = your content will do its job well.

If you want to sign clients, stop trying to impress them when you talk to them. 

Do this: 

Every single person I meet online, I treat as if they’re an old friend.

Not a stranger.

Most people are scared to get into conversations. Because their gut is telling them:

→ “You need to impress them”
→ “You’ve got to sound/look your best”
→ “You have to deliver some great value here”

And yet all the other person wants is for you to show up and be someone they want to talk to.

Which 99 times out of 100 is just being yourself.

Which means this happens:

→ Their guard drops (because they don’t feel awkward)
→ The conversation flows more easily
→ If it aligns well, an offer feels natural

You get a better feel for working with them from the conversation.
They get a better feel of working with you by how you are.

If both align and it feels natural, the next step is obvious.

(And it’s WAY more fun to make friends than just try and sell all the time)

In 4 years, I’ve written 1,100+ posts for myself. 

…and helped 50+ clients to build their business here too.

So to help you, here’s every best lesson I’ve learned about writing online (so you can get clients too): 

1/ Attention first. Always. No one buys from posts they don’t read.

2/ A bad post with a good hook beats a good post with a bad hook.

3/ Forget vanity metrics as the goal. It’s a bonus. Revenue > reach.

4/ Going viral is a bonus. Conversions are the objective.

5/ Every post should move people somewhere → belief, action, inbox, email list.

6/ 90% of your posts should have a CTA. Direction = momentum.

7/ Sell yourself as much as your offer. People buy trust before they buy products.

8/ Call out your ICP directly. Specificity makes people feel seen.

9/ Clear beats clever. Every time. EVERY time. 

10/ Position yourself in your content so people think “I need to learn from them”.

11/ Playing it safe is risky. Strong opinions attract strong buyers.

12/ If someone can disagree with you, it means the right ones can agree. 

13/ Repeat your best ideas frequently. Most people didn’t see it the first time.

14/ Name your frameworks and ideas + talk about them. Familiarity builds authority.

15/ Trends get views. Depth builds trust.

16/ 3-4 good posts per week is more than enough to get clients.

17/ Don’t post for the sake of consistency. Post for some shift/outcome to happen.

18/ Move people from platforms you rent to platforms you own (like email).

19/ The human side of your content builds relationships (and sales).

20/ Build a world around your content so people want to learn more from you. 

21/ Don’t chase trends. Buyers care about clarity, not choreography.

22/ Your perspective is far more profitable than “perfection”.

23/ You don’t need permission to share your thinking. 

24/ You can’t build with 0 impressions. But 1,000,000 isn’t the minimum. 

And my favourite one: 

25/ Literally nobody on this planet expects you to write perfectly, or have everything figured out. Now more than ever. And that is the most magnetic, attractive thing for leads right now. A real person who’s sharing ideas and thoughts regardless of what “trends” say to do. Far better. 

I could go on. But my brain is tired. 

So a final question for you: 

If someone read the last 90 days of your content, would they know how you help? What you stand for? Who you are? Where to go next? 

That’s the whole point right there. 

Not the likes.

I’ve always hated being on video.

Yet I’m doing a lot more of them in 2026. Simple reason:

1/ I want more people to see me in action, not just how I write about it
2/ People are more skeptical about AI, and video can’t be faked
3/ Sometimes concepts need to be explained in deeper detail

What’s beautiful is right now, the more ‘raw’ the better.

No editing = no chance of “fake”.
No cuts = nothing being hidden.

Clients don’t get on a coaching call and expect you to present perfectly.

They expect stumbled words. Thinking pauses. Ums and ahs.

So I’m doing a lot more mini videos to show that side of the business too. Which means:

1/ The right clients get a feel for my coaching style before we meet
2/ People spend more time watching videos > reading a post
3/ I don’t have to worry about “perfection”, I just hit record

I won’t lie, it feels good to just create and put things out there for those who it helps.

But it's also a great way for business right now.

After 4 years posting on LinkedIn, the biggest lesson I’ve learned is surprisingly simple:

The platform rewards clarity more than creativity.

Early on, I thought success on LinkedIn meant:

Better graphics.
More polished posts.
Trying to say something clever.

But the posts that actually worked were far simpler.

They spoke to a very specific problem.
For a very specific person.
In language that felt obvious to them.

That’s when things started to change.

Conversations increased.
People started recognising the work we were doing.
Opportunities appeared that would’ve been impossible to manufacture through traditional outbound.

Not because the posts were perfect.

Because they were relevant.

Most LinkedIn content fails for one reason:

It’s written for everyone.

But the posts that resonate the most are usually written with one person in mind.

The founder struggling to generate pipeline.
The marketing lead trying to prove ROI.
The business owner wondering why their content isn’t converting.

When someone reads a post and thinks
“this feels like it’s written for me”

That’s when LinkedIn actually starts working.

Not as a social network.

But as a place where the right people slowly start paying attention.

4 Years of LinkedIn

For most of the last 3 years, almost everything we’ve done on LinkedIn has come back to one simple idea:

One good piece of thinking should never turn into just one post.

When we started noticed., we treated content like most people do.

Have an idea.
Turn it into a post.
Move on to the next one.

It felt productive.
But it meant we were constantly starting from zero.

The shift came when we realised the best ideas weren’t posts.

They were assets.

One video, one report, one campaign, one core topic… could easily become a week’s worth of content, conversations, and even sales opportunities if we actually broke it down properly. 

That’s when LinkedIn stopped feeling like a content treadmill and started feeling like leverage.

Instead of chasing new ideas, we started:

Turning one long-form piece into multiple angles.
Sharing the lessons, the behind-the-scenes, the industry take, the practical advice.
Then using that momentum to create something genuinely useful for our ICP.

Not just content.

Something worth giving away. 

Because the truth is, most content doesn’t fail because the idea is bad.

It fails because people treat it like a one-off.

The takeaway?

If something is worth saying once, it’s probably worth saying five different ways.

That’s how content starts to compound instead of just filling the feed.

LinkedIn Help

Most people think LinkedIn growth comes from posting more.

In the last 3 years we’ve gone from £0 to £1M+, signed clients across multiple countries, and built the entire pipeline off LinkedIn.

And the biggest thing I’ve learned is this:

LinkedIn only works when you stop treating it like a content platform and start treating it like a legitimate marketing system. 

Early on, I made the same mistake most businesses do.

Posting broad stuff.
Talking to “marketers”.
Trying to appeal to everyone.

It felt like progress, but it didn’t move the business.

Things changed when we flipped the approach.

Instead of asking
“What should we post?”

We started asking:

Who exactly are we trying to get in front of, and what do they actually care about right now?

That led to a simple system we still use today:

Pick the exact audience first
Not industries. Not job titles. Real buyers with real problems.

Study what already resonates with them
Not to copy it, but to understand what conversations they’re already having.

Add your own angle and proof
Your lived experience, case studies, opinions, mistakes, lessons. The stuff nobody else can say.

That’s when LinkedIn stopped being noise and started becoming leverage.

Because attention from the wrong people is just vanity.

Attention from the right people is pipeline, partnerships, hires, and growth.

Most people think LinkedIn success comes from posting more.

It doesn’t.

It comes from avoiding a few very common mistakes.

For the last 4 years I’ve spent almost every day on LinkedIn building noticed.

And along the way I made a lot of mistakes.

Here are a few that slowed us down early on:

1. Assuming people care

You might have the best product or service in the world.

But the brutal truth is:

Nobody cares unless you give them a reason to.

Attention has to be earned.

2. Overcomplicating content

Not every post needs to be a huge deep dive.

Some of the best content is simply:

• a quick observation
• a useful tip
• something you learned that day

Consistency beats complexity every time.

3. Being too broad

One of the biggest shifts for us came when we stopped trying to talk to “everyone”.

The more specific we became about our ICP, the better our results became.

4. Optimising for the wrong metrics

Impressions and likes feel good.

But they don’t build businesses.

The metrics that actually matter are:

• conversations started
• profile views from your ICP
• meetings booked

Those are the signals that lead to revenue. 

LinkedIn has become our:

• main sales channel
• main pipeline builder
• main brand visibility driver

But it only started working when we stopped making these mistakes.

For year's I've heard people talk about what "good" content on LinkedIn looks like. 

And yeah, maybe a photo of your breakfast in Bali looks good...

But it also doesn't bring in many clients.

For about 10 years, people used LinkedIn like a corporate facebook.

Polished updates.
Safe messaging.
Occasional sales pushes.

And yeah, it looks professional... but it gets no engagement, and generates no pipeline. 

The shift for us came when we put in place a system on LinkedIn, combining: 

1. Content tailored to our ICP.
2. Outreach used after intent signals. 
3. Sales assets to drive inbound contacts. 

And emails to scale the approach and drive even more traffic. 

Instead of asking, “What should we post this week?”

We started asking, 

“How does LinkedIn move someone closer to becoming a client?”

"How can we drive more intent signals for outbound?" 

"How can we create content that drives more traffic?"

That changed everything.

Content became about visibility & community. 
Outreach became about conversations, not pitches.
Campaigns were built to give value first, then guide people somewhere useful.

Once those pieces connected, LinkedIn stopped feeling random.

It became predictable.

Most companies don’t have a LinkedIn problem.

They just haven’t built a system that turns attention into action yet.

You don’t need more time to post on LinkedIn.
You need a better use of the time you already have.

Most people think good LinkedIn content requires hours of effort.

It doesn’t.

Over the last few years building noticed., most of my posts have fallen into three buckets depending on how much time I have that day.

15 minutes → capture the moment
A thought, something that happened in the business, or a quick observation from the day.

30 minutes → share something useful
A story, a lesson learned, or a simple breakdown that helps someone understand a problem better.

60 minutes → build something substantial
A proper deep dive, a campaign launch, or a detailed industry breakdown.

The biggest mistake people make is thinking every post needs to be the 60-minute version.

It doesn’t.

Consistency comes from having formats that match the time you actually have.

Some posts document the journey.
Some teach something.
Some spark conversation.

Over time those layers compound.

and LinkedIn starts becoming a place where people actually want to hear what you have to say.

B2B marketing is changing faster than most teams can keep up.

And the playbook most companies are using… is already outdated.

In the last few years building noticed., one thing has become very clear:

The way businesses generate attention, trust and revenue online is shifting fast.

A few things we’re seeing happen right now:

1. More leaders are becoming the brand.
CEO posting on LinkedIn has surged. People want to hear from real operators, not faceless companies.

2. AI is accelerating everything.
Content, outreach, strategy. The tools are changing quickly, but the businesses that win will still be the ones with the clearest ideas.

3. LinkedIn is becoming the B2B attention hub.
More marketers now say LinkedIn delivers their highest ROI.

4. The metrics are changing.
Likes and impressions mean very little.
The real signal is:
• Are you reaching the right people?
• Are you starting conversations?

5. Paid and organic are merging.
The fastest growing B2B brands treat LinkedIn like a system, not just a place to post.

But here’s the problem.

Most businesses still don’t know how to actually use LinkedIn properly.

They’re asking things like:

What should we spend our budget on?

Do LinkedIn ads actually work?

How do we turn attention into revenue?

I think a lot of people on LinkedIn are doing the right things… just in the wrong order.

We see companies running ads straight to their website and wondering why nobody clicks.

Posting content they personally find interesting, but their audience doesn’t really engage with.

Or sharing something useful but not giving people anywhere obvious to go next.

We did the same early on.

It felt like we were “active” on LinkedIn, but it didn’t feel joined up.

What changed for us was realising LinkedIn works best when the pieces connect.

Content should make the right people feel like you understand their world.
Ads should amplify what’s already proven to resonate.
And every post or campaign should point somewhere intentional, not just vaguely “to the website”.

It sounds simple, but once you start thinking of LinkedIn as one connected journey rather than separate tactics, the platform becomes a lot clearer.

Most people don’t need to do more on LinkedIn.

They just need the things they’re already doing to work together a bit better.
