5 reasons smart people get confused about their next level
 
1️⃣ They have too many good options.  
Nothing is broken, so choosing feels risky.
 
2️⃣ What got them here still works.  
It pays the bills, looks fine, and keeps life stable — just not satisfying anymore.
 
3️⃣ Every option feels expensive.  
Change the job → risk income.  
Start the business → risk comfort. 
 Slow down → risk image.
 
4️⃣ They keep waiting for things to “slow down.”  
But life rarely does at this stage.
 
5️⃣ They’re mentally tired.  
Even when they have time, they don’t have the energy to think clearly.
 
Feeling confused here doesn’t mean you’re failing.  
It means you’ve reached a decision point.

This week, I felt completely flat.
 
No motivation. No direction. Just bored of my own life.
 
Here are 3 ways I wouldn’t recommend handling it:
 
1 - Push through with more work  
You think productivity will fix it. It won’t. You’re not tired from lack of output. You’re tired from lack of meaning.

2 - Distract yourself with plans  
Booking trips, starting projects, saying yes to everything. 
This just adds noise. It doesn’t solve the internal friction.

3 - Wait for it to pass  
You tell yourself it’s temporary. But if this feeling keeps showing up, it’s not a mood. It’s a signal.
 
This is how I’d do it instead:
 
1. Ask what’s missing — not what’s wrong.
 
• Money: Is this actually a money or growth problem?  
• Meaning: Do I still care about what I’m building?  
• Mastery: Are my thoughts and emotions running me?
 
2. Protect the silence. Don’t fill the void with people or plans. Sit with it. The answer is already there.
   
3. Make one small decision that feels true.  Not big. Not bold. Just honest.
 
Remember:
 
Flatness isn’t failure. It’s your system telling you something needs to shift.

2 harsh truths most successful people don’t like hearing:
 
1- Working harder won’t fix a life that’s slightly misaligned.
 
You can keep hitting targets.  
Keep getting promoted.  
Keep being “the reliable one.”
 
And still feel off.
 
Because effort isn’t the issue.  
Direction is.
 
2- Intelligence becomes a trap when you use it to justify staying the same.
 
You can explain why now isn’t the right time.  
Why it’s “strategic” to wait.  
Why this is just a phase.
 
And five years pass.
 
Not because you weren’t capable.  
Because you let your blind spots run the show.
 
At a certain level, growth isn’t about doing more.
It’s about resetting:
 
• how you evaluate decisions  
• what you tolerate  
• what you believe you deserve
 
That’s the real upgrade.
 
Not a new job.  
Not a new title.  
A new standard for how you operate.
 
If you feel the gap between what you built and what you actually want next — that gap doesn’t close with more effort.
 
It closes when you reset how you think and decide.

Improve margins.  
Restructure teams.

Is this still the right vehicle for where I’m going?
 
At a certain level, growth isn’t about doing more inside the same model. 
It’s about deciding whether the model itself needs to change.
 
And that’s uncomfortable.
Because the current version works.
But working isn’t the same as expanding.

Why are you really stressed? 

Like really? 

Ask 5 times to get to the root: 

1. stressed because of this project 
2. stressed because of your new boss 
3. stressed because you don't know him well
4. stressed because you're not sure if he will approve 
5. stressed because you don't want to disappoint 

The project isn't stressful - the people pleaser in you is.

How can you focus on the people pleaser instead of everything else?

- By giving attention (kindness and curiosity)
- By focusing on what's in your control vs. what's not (preparation)
- And by accepting that you can't please the whole world, no matter how hard you try (this instantly removes pressure)

Letting go...

If you let go of what’s holding you back, which is usually emotions (and for most people, one in particular), everything leaves with it. 

The thoughts, the endless thoughts - consuming most of your time and energy.

If you just let it go, it’s gone.

None of the mental and emotional muscle building would be required.

And here’s the twist: why is it so hard to let go? 

Do we first have to build the skill before realizing we don’t need it? 
Or do we have to earn it first before we deserve it? 
Or do we just like the extra round, the drama, the hard way…
Or is letting go the peak of emotional mastery?

I’m still thinking. Maybe I could just let it go.

Will you let it go TODAY?

Having clarity on what matters most for you…

in any given situation is the best advice you have.

And from there, you filter all external feedback.

Two simple questions:

1. Is this in line with where you want to go?

Let’s say you want to make more sales; anything that helps you get there makes the “cut off time”: a book, a consultant, a sales rep…

2. Is this in line with your values (what matters most to you)?

There are many ways to make those sales; pick the ones that share the same core values because it’s not only about making those sales, it’s also about how you feel about having them. 

You don’t want to cross the finish line not liking yourself anymore…

Always feeling the same way, 
means also doing the same thing. 

Depressed people stand, talk and move differently than happy people. 

Stressed people stand, talk and move differently than relaxed people.

Pick the right strategy.

If you don’t get what you want, it’s because there’s some kind of conflict…

Physically 
Mentally 
Emotionally

Every action you take or do not take, ask yourself: 

Is this going to bring you closer or further away from your goal? 

And of course to answer that, you have to know the goal…😅

Once you focus on WHERE the emotion sits, instead of WHY, you take the pressure off…

and you give it space to exist without needing to ACT at all.

It’s a great tool for regulating yourself without 
shutting off or overreacting.

Some get hot red ears, 
Others experience a sharp pain in the back of the shoulder, 
Others have a compressed head, 
Or a dull, vacuum-like feeling in the stomach,

The options are endless. 

So next time you feel overwhelmed by any emotion, ask yourself: Where do you feel it in the body? 

Describe it as detailed as possible.

Most arguments are based on wanting our way instead of allowing other ways.

However, once you stop negotiating the why and start focusing on where, things shift immediately.

Where do you feel the emotion in your body? And how does it feel? Describe it as detailed as possible, using all your senses.
