My main responsibilities as a traffic planner included organizing tire transports to assigned countries, checking and optimizing delivery flow. Other daily tasks included forecasting the loading plan for the following days, offering support in occurring problems related to missing tires and solving issues like shipment delays.

For those who are creating content every day, I commend you. It's not an easy process and it takes much more effort than people realize.

Keep doing what you do.

Most home service owners I talk to are spending $200-400 per new customer and they think the only solution is to "get better at marketing."

The problem is...

Your customer acquisition cost keeps climbing. Google Ads are more expensive every year. Lead gen companies are charging more. And your profit per job keeps shrinking because you're paying more just to get someone in the door.

Most people try to solve it by shopping around for cheaper lead sources. They try Facebook Ads instead of Google. They negotiate with lead gen companies. They hire a new marketing agency promising "better ROI."

Basically, they keep playing the same game, just trying to find a cheaper way to buy strangers.

Here's why I don't think that works...

Because you're still 100% dependent on paid acquisition. When ad costs go up (and they always do), your margins shrink. When the algorithm changes, your leads dry up. You're building your business on rented land.

Plus, you're ignoring the people who already paid you, trusted you, and got results. The ones who cost you $0 to reach.

Here's how I solve it...

I flip the model. Instead of spending $300 to acquire a stranger, I spend $5 to re-engage someone who already knows, likes, and trusts the business.

Automated follow-up sequences. Seasonal reminders. Win-back campaigns for dormant customers. A system that turns one-time customers into repeat buyers... all without spending a dollar on ads.

The math is simple: If you have 2,500 past customers and reactivate just 10% per quarter with a $5 cost per reactivation, that's 250 jobs at $1,200 average value = $300K in revenue for $1,250 in marketing spend.

Compare that to buying 250 new customers at $300 each = $75,000 in marketing spend for the same revenue.

You're not just saving money, but instead building a business that doesn't break when ad costs spike.

The companies winning right now aren't the ones buying the most leads. They're the ones keeping the customers they already earned.

What's your current cost to acquire a new customer vs. reactivate a past one?

Increasing retention is stupid simple, yet so many businesses complicate OR don’t even think about it… 

And when I say businesses don’t think about it… I mean like 90% of people I talk to.

So let’s break it down simply…

Studies show if you acquire 100 new customers, only 30 of them will remember you in 6 months.

But you can increase that dramatically with 3 simple email campaigns.

1. An Onboarding campaign - set up expectations and resolve concerns.

2. An Upsell campaign - Give them more reasons to buy from you.

3. A Reactivation campaign - for the ones you have lost, give them a reason to bring them back.

3 campaigns, hitting every stage of the customer lifecycle.

That’s how you increase retention

A pest control owner told me something this last week that stuck with me.

"We did an amazing job for this customer. Five stars. They loved us. Then 8 months later, they called someone else."

If you're in home services, this happens more than you want to admit.

Your customers aren't choosing your competitors because they didn't like you. They're choosing them because they forgot about you.

Most companies try to fix this by posting more on social media. They run "brand awareness" campaigns. They boost posts. They hope customers remember them when they need service again.

But here's the problem: People don't scroll Instagram thinking about plumbing. They don't see your Facebook post and suddenly remember their AC needs maintenance.

When their problem shows up, they Google it. And whoever shows up first wins the job. Even if you did perfect work for them last year.

Here's what actually works:

Reach out BEFORE they need you. Not when they Google. Before they Google.

Simple automated emails at 6 months. Another at 12 months. A seasonal reminder before summer hits. Not pushy sales stuff. Just helpful reminders that you exist and you're thinking about them.

I've seen companies send a basic "here's some of our services" email to customers who hadn't booked in over a year. Those customers want to know more instantly. $600+ contract value for each. Zero ad spend. Just a reminder.

Because here's the thing: Your competitors are reaching out to YOUR old customers right now. Through Google Ads. Through door hangers. Through Yelp. Through direct mail.

The only defense is staying in their inbox first.

You can have the best service in your city. But if you go quiet for 9 months, you're a stranger again. And strangers lose to whoever shows up when the problem hits.

Your best customers aren't lost. They just need a reminder you still exist.
