An artist note on marketing:

Two girls on the Riverwalk. One in yellow, clutching a red balloon. A circular bridge, a bold red sculpture, reflections that turn the ordinary into a small spell.

 As I was painting this, I realized something vital given my own background in marketing from eons ago. This is not just a painting. It’s a blueprint for marketing that lasts.

Tension: Most teams optimize for speed and volume. But memory—the kind that makes people come back, forms around a few distinct cues repeated with care. In the scene, the eye anchors to red, travels through the bridge’s opening, lingers in the shimmer. That’s attention architecture and the girls. Not more elements but fewer, placed intentionally.

Insight: Build creative like this walkway. Pair emotion with navigation. Give people one anchor (your “red balloon”), one path (your “bridge”), and room for wonder (your “sky”). When your brand assets walk hand-in-hand, useful and human you turn impressions into shared journeys.

 Action:
 - Pick a living asset (color, shape, object) and commit. Apply it in thumbnails, headers, packaging, onsite micro-interactions.
 - Design a focal hierarchy: primary subject, secondary anchor, space to breathe. Say more by showing less.

Do you build fun elements into your User Interface? 

Contrary to what one might think, fun elements inserted as conscious design can actually improve User Experience (UX) without compromising professionalism of your website or application. 

Take LinkedIn Games as an example. When they launched these games, many (including yours truly) were skeptical of the value they brought to a platform primarily designed for B2B interactions. However, I have learned that many professionals not only play these games but interact with others who are playing these games, too. It creates trust and a friendly spirit of competition.

Behavioral Economics & Psychology demonstrate that people respond positively to incentives, goal setting, and perceived rewards. This improves their productivity and performance over time. 

Friendly and fun elements, therefore, can give an immediate boost to users, especially if their strategy requires them to hit certain goals and track them. 

However, if the fun elements don't serve a purpose, they can create more noise and distraction than necessary. These were the considerations that went in to designing the Creator bottle content meter for Ryza Content. 

It is a little fun element that allows users to track content generated alongside small notes to motivate and encourage. The goal is 30 posts per month for the average user on the platform. If that was the Key Performance Indicator (KPI) that you wanted to track for your marketing or content creation team, which do you think they would prefer?

An email or note saying "You have created 5 posts this month" or a fun animated bottle that continues to encourage them to create more?  

Fun is not fluff. It’s a nudge system. It clarifies the mental model, reduces friction, and keeps people creating without flooding their UX/UI with low-quality fillers. - track what matters and is within user control. 
- users can self-pace at a glance and self-correct before chaos sets in.
