I have over 20 years experience in the field of web design and user experience (UX) with 100s of websites under my belt.

You'll see me talking at events such as The Marketing Meetup, or hear me on podcasts advocating for a human-centred, user-first approach to web design, and sharing our SmartSite™ methodology which has helped generate £1m's for our clients.

I'm here to help you (marketing and business leaders of £2m+ B2B, non-profit, retail & saas companies), and make your lives easier. We do this by:

🧠 It's no secret we use behavioural science as our weapon of choice. After initially working alongside UCL (University College London) to corroborate our hypothesis, we then developed the SmartSite™ methodology, which harnesses behavioural science. This has subsequently accelerated the success of every website and organisation we've applied it to.

My path into the agency world wasn’t smooth or carefully planned; it was born out of necessity. After being made redundant twice, I found myself at 27 standing at a crossroads. With just £4,500 in redundancy pay and a shed in my late mum’s back garden as my office, I decided to take a chance and build something of my own.

That decision became Bluhalo, a digital agency that grew organically into one of the UK’s largest (ranked 8th at its peak) and most respected digital pure-plays in sport and eCommerce. I later exited successfully to Gyro, now part of Dentsu.

That journey taught me everything about building and scaling an agency in a fast-changing technology landscape, from the hustle of the early days to leading teams, driving growth, and navigating a successful exit.

But I wasn’t done. Rather than walking away, I wanted to help other agency leaders make the same journey without the same mistakes, setbacks, and long learning curve.

So in 2011, I founded Cactus, at a time when most agency advisors still came from the “Mad Men” era rather than the digital one. Having been in the trenches, I understood what it truly takes to build, scale, and create value. My focus became real, actionable advice, cutting through the noise to help leaders grow faster and smarter.

Cactus grew to become the UK’s leading dedicated agency growth advisory, supporting over 75 types of agencies including advertising, marketing, and PR, as well as social, influencer, design, brand activation, events, and technical services. Along the way, I co-authored Agencynomics, the world’s best-selling and most highly rated book on agency growth.

Today, I’m the co-founder of Bluhalo IO, an M&A practice built for the age of AI. We work with MSPs, AI Systems Integrators, Marketing and Technical Services Agencies, helping founders and leadership teams unlock growth, scale efficiently, and achieve strategic exits. 

Together with a team of specialists, we’re redefining how modern service businesses create and capture value in an AI-driven world.
