I worked for the school of Language, Literature and International Studies. My main responsibilities were to coordinate the marketing activities for the school including social media management, promotion and organisation of events and writing course descriptions and web copy.

I was responsible for managing, promoting and organising all internal and external events that took place at the Blackpool Sixth Form College. The job required a wide skill set and the ability to oversee a variety of tasks at the same time. 

To organise each event, I liaised with catering, facilities management, timetabling and technical support. I also supervised each event's budget. 

I was present at each event; managing the process from set-up right until the end. Examples of activities included The All-Star Sports Awards, which was coordinated with the local press and had over 150 attendees; and The Annual Awards evening, whereby hundreds of students, parents and stakeholders were invited to celebrate student success. 

I was also responsible for the marketing and promotion of each event. I wrote press releases, crafted a weekly newsletter and liaised with marketing for the design of promotional material. 

I also implemented an online booking system, whereby people could purchase tickets to events on the web - increasing the sales of tickets by over 30% on the previous year. This system was integrated with social media, ensuring it was accessible to many students.

One of my main duties at the Grand Theatre was managing the marketing department's budget - by processing invoices and completing budget sheets for each visiting show. 

I was also responsible for updating the theatre's social networking sites, such as Facebook and Twitter; liaising with the press, producers and actors for interviews and photo opportunities; proofreading marketing material and editing website content. 

Finally, I was responsible for organising, managing and promoting the theatre's events and exhibitions.
