They called it:
The Woman Who Never Did Anything.

The sculpture is in Zaragoza, Spain.

Look closely.

She is bent under the weight of washing machines, buckets, brooms, and everything it takes to keep a household running. Yet she is still holding her children’s hands.

This is the work that for generations was called “nothing.”

Unpaid.
Unrecorded.
Often unrecognized.

And somehow… still called nothing.

If the work many mothers do at home were written as a corporate job description, it would look something like this 👇🏼

Chief Operations Officer of the household, responsible for logistics, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, nutrition planning, sanitation, conflict resolution, early childhood development, education support, transportation coordination, healthcare management, and the emotional wellbeing of multiple team members.

The role requires leadership, crisis management, strategic planning, and long hours with no days off. Yet despite the scope and responsibility, society often labeled this work as “doing nothing.”

And to the women who are planning to transition back into the workforce after raising their families, do not be ashamed of that chapter of your life.

Raising children and managing a household is real work.

Those years build leadership, organization, resilience, and problem-solving skills that many organizations value deeply.

Put it on your résumé.

Because you were not doing nothing.

You were running an entire operation.

The title of the sculpture is ironic, of course.

Because millions of women have carried entire households, communities, and generations on their backs while the world dismissed their labor as invisible.

This sculpture is not about one woman.

It is about millions.

Happy International Women’s Month to the women who were told they did nothing while doing everything.

30 years of service, both enlisted and as an officer, has given me a deep respect for the sacrifice of each Soldier, Sailor, Airman, Marine, Guardsman, and the families and communities that support them.  I stand proudly shoulder-to-shoulder with them prepared to fight, working for peace, and focused on blessing the lives of all people.  My tours in Iraq & Afghanistan, along with my time as a Wounded Warrior, have taught me some valuable lessons about leadership, service, and the value of both personnel and equipment in the process of accomplishing the mission.

Base Operating Support - Integrator (BOS-I) Garrison Comander for nine US bases in Regional Command North (RC-N), Afghanistan while also serving as the Operations (J3) and Planning (J5) for all US Forces in RC-N under the command of German Coalition forces including 17 Coalition nations.  Accomplishments included the closure of three bases, completion of StratAir ramp and Camp John Pratt projects, flooding of 2013 recovery operations, development of BOS-I operations, LogAdmin and OpsIntel integration, division level operations and NATO/Coalition support to 17 nations.

BOS-I Garrison Commander, J3 & J5

Task Force 3.1

G4 responsible for all Log Admin - G1, G4, G6, G8, PARC, CARB, Surgeon, Chaplain, etc.  Built Task Force 3.1 logistics and administration which included personnel, logistics, communications, financials, contracts, medical, and chaplain areas of the operations.  Directed support between warfighter units and Army level headquarters.  Assisted in getting all personnel and equipment out of Iraq during the Oct - Dec 2011 closure operations.

M2CIT, Inc.

Created, developed, and built the foundation for the M2CIT organization to include the strategic leadership and planning, budgeting and financials, human resources, risk mitigation, and process improvement.  Directed the creation and development of the $1.5B Eastern West Virginia Regional Airport Project planning phase covering operations, logistics, administration, budgeting and financials, planning, competitive analysis, and all aspects of the planning to operation lifecycle.  Business development with Sen. Byrd and Rockefeller offices, local, regional, and State representatives, local to national business partners, Dept. of Commerce, Foreign countries/ entities, U.S. Air Force, and Intelligence Community.

W7World is a management team for both large and small projects, national and international.  Our next project is the development of a country...and will include such projects as an international airport, convention center, financial markets, all types of energy, medical community, university, humanitarian hub, military bases, housing, business, hotels, parks, coral preservation, water use and purification, small community generational growth, etc.

Our goal is the creation and management of projects that help to take care of the people and the country...so they can take care of their mission, families, and lives.  W7 is founded on the principles I created for the 7 Areas of Wealth, which we use to measure our progress and success in bringing wealth into the lives of the people we serve.

We are currently talking to and vetting investors, business partners, and organizations that want to be involved in this project.
