I’m tired.
Every year, it's the same story. 

Around International Women’s Day, invitations from women-supporting organizations land in my inbox.   
  
They often share a common goal: advancing equity and closing the gender pay gap.
  
Yet, paradoxically, when it comes to compensating the speakers, panelists, and mentors they recruit ... there’s silence.   
  
Some truly don’t have the budget at all, and I completely understand that.   
  
But others have made it a practice to expect women to offer their expertise without pay.
Perpetuating the same cycle they claim they are trying to break.   
  
If we believe women’s voices matter, we should fund them.
If we believe in closing the gap, we should stop recreating it.   
  
I’m at a crossroads because this isn’t about saying no to purpose.
It’s about saying yes to alignment.

I used to think visibility was for “louder” people.

 The ones who always knew what to say.
 The ones who never overthought a post before hitting publish.

Turns out… that’s not true.

Most of the introverted leaders I work with don’t lack ideas.
They lack permission—to be seen, to be heard, to take up space without feeling fake or forced.

I didn’t spend decades repeating unhealthy patterns because I was broken. I was carrying what I watched, inherited, and learned to survive.Like many women of color, I grew up observing strength that looked like silence, self-sacrifice, over-functioning, and emotional endurance. Love was something you earned. Safety came from being useful. Rest felt unsafe. Asking for help felt like failure.

And no amount of success, achievement, or “doing the work” actually changed those patterns — until I understood where they came from.

I’m a Spiritual Neuroscientist and Generational Healing Expert. My work sits at the intersection of neuroscience, epigenetics, ancestral wisdom, and lived experience.

At 43, after years of healing, multiple failed relationships, and a divorce, I finally understood where I went wrong.
It wasn’t that I chose the wrong men.

It wasn’t that I didn’t love hard enough.
It wasn’t that I wasn’t self-aware.
It was this: My ancestors didn’t teach me how to love.
They taught me how to survive.

And I was confusing the two.
I learned that love meant:
• Endure.
• Overgive.
• Stay strong.
• Don’t need too much.
• Keep the peace.
• Handle it yourself.

That wasn’t romance.
That was resilience.
That wasn’t intimacy.
That was survival strategy.

And survival strategies make sense in the context they were born in.
But they don’t always create healthy love.
Or healthy leadership.
Or healthy ambition.
Or healthy self-worth.

We aren’t bad at love. We just might be loyal to patterns that were built before we ever had a choice.

I was built to stay and endure.
But not anymore.

I stayed in toxic workplaces even when they completely broke my confidence.
I stayed in a marriage long after the love was gone.
I stayed in relationships that should have ended years earlier.

Because I thought endurance was strength.
Because I thought loyalty meant staying.
Because I thought leaving meant failure.

But not anymore.

Now I can proudly say this: I’m a quitter.

I quit environments that cost me my peace.
I quit relationships that require self-abandonment.
I quit narratives that glorify suffering.

For generations, the women in my family endured because they had to.
They didn’t have options.
They didn’t have financial freedom.
They didn’t have language for boundaries.

Staying was survival.
But because of them I do have options.
And breaking the cycle means knowing when to leave.

To everyone in my lineage who had to endure...we are free now.
The cycle is broken.

no one prepares you for.
You’re the first to graduate.
The first to make real money.
The first to “make it out.”

Everyone is proud of you.
But quietly?

The pressure to not fall apart.

➡️ You question things your family said were “just the way it is.”
➡️ You feel triggered… but you don’t react the same way you used to.
➡️ You start seeing your parents as humans.
➡️ You no longer feel responsible for everyone’s emotions.
➡️ You notice how your childhood roles shaped your adult relationships.
➡️ You choose rest without earning it.
➡️ You say “no” without a 10-minute explanation.
➡️ You stop overgiving to feel worthy.

After a divorce and multiple failed relationships, I had to admit something hard:
It wasn’t them. It was me repeating the same dynamic with different people.

At some point, I had to stop asking, “Why does this keep happening to me?”
And start asking, “What am I repeating that I no longer want to carry?”

So I chose to pause.
Because what I kept finding was familiar.
And what I wanted was evolved.

When you heal at this level, you don’t just change who you date.
You change who you are in every room.
You see your family differently.
You see friendships differently.
You see how you’ve been performing for connection your entire life.
And once you see it, you can’t unsee it.

Being single these last five years has been lonely at times. (Truth time...sometimes it's been excruciatingly lonely).
But in those moments, I knew I wasn’t just alone.
I was breaking something that had been running through my lineage for decades.

I wasn’t just healing for love.
I was releasing the role I learned to play in every relationship...and the role the women before me were forced to play in theirs.

Now dating looks completely different.
I don’t seek to be chosen.
I decide if I choose.
And I only choose partnership that matches the woman I’ve become. Healthy love, growth, elevation, and mutual expansion.

Most people think they’re stuck in unhealthy relationship dynamics because they haven’t met the right person.
But many of us are repeating inherited patterns that show up in love, family, leadership, and even how we relate to ourselves.

What does a single woman in her 40s do on Valentine’s Day?

Whatever the hell she wants.

You might think holidays like this would bring me down.

But honestly?
They feel different now.

Valentine’s Day used to feel like a reminder of what I didn’t have.

Now it feels like a celebration of what I built.

This is a moment for me to love myself more.
To reflect on how far I’ve come in my healing.
To celebrate the woman who learned how to stop overgiving, stop self-sacrificing, and finally choose herself.

This might be the last Valentine’s Day I spend alone. Who knows?

But here’s what I do know:

Every single day…including this one…I choose to love me first.

And that changed everything.

Whether you’re partnered, single, dating, divorced, or “it’s complicated,” I hope today you’re loving you first.

Because the healthiest relationships start there.

Meanwhile, my CFO (Chief Fun Officer) Cody is fully committed to his Valentine’s pup cup this morning.

And honestly?
That’s the kind of love I support.

That is because I've earned that mindset.

This is not the year of proving.
This is the year of collecting.

Collecting:
 • the peace
 • the aligned opportunities
 • the love that doesn’t require shrinking
 • the money that matches our value
 • the rooms we used to pray for
 • the life we used to pray for 

There’s a moment in every woman’s life when she stops grinding for survival…
and starts receiving for expansion.

That’s this year.

Cause we've been doing the work…
Breaking cycles…
And building the life our ancestors couldn't even dream of. 

So...It’s collection time.
It's our time.

The first time I felt my ancestors speak to me, I wasn’t in a church.
I wasn’t in therapy.

I was in the quietest moment my nervous system had ever experienced.
And in that stillness, I heard something that changed me:
“You have nothing to fear. You did it. You got yourself to freedom.
Now the most uncomfortable part has to happen. You have to enjoy it.
Let yourself play. Let yourself be loved. Let the world support you.
You took us this far. Now let us take you the rest of the way.”

What shook me wasn’t the words.
It was the realization underneath them.

I had spent so much of my life trying to secure freedom...not just for me, but for my whole family.
First to graduate.
First to earn the degrees.
First to create financial security.
First to step into rooms we had never stepped into before.

And I was living as if joy was the final reward after all the work was done.

But in that moment, I realized: The work was already done.

I had taken my lineage somewhere new. And maybe…the next evolution of generational healing wasn't about more striving.
Maybe it was finally about allowing myself to experience what they didn’t get to:
Freedom.
Joy.
Peace on my own terms.

We talk a lot about breaking cycles. But we don’t talk enough about what happens after you break them.
The moment when you realize:
I don’t have to keep proving.
I don’t have to keep carrying.
I get to choose my own path.
I get to define my own peace.
I get to enjoy the life I worked so hard to create.

That, to me, is generational healing.
Not just freeing the past...but giving yourself permission to live fully in the present.

No one really talks about this part of self-abandonment...The resentment.
It doesn’t explode all at once.
It builds quietly.

It starts when you believe that to be loved, accepted, or chosen, you have to change yourself.
You quiet your voice.
You stop being “too much.”
You give. And give. And give...often at the expense of your own needs, rest, and replenishment.

At first, it feels like love.
Like devotion.
Like being “a good partner.”

But over time, something shifts.
You feel unseen.
Depleted.
Disconnected from yourself.

And then the resentment shows up.
You start thinking, They don’t get me. They don’t really see me.
You feel misunderstood… even angry.

And here’s the hardest truth I had to face in every single one of my relationships: They didn’t make me disappear.
I DID.

I abandoned myself and then resented the other person for it.
This is a pattern so many women carry.
One learned through survival, through family modeling, through generations of being taught that love means self-sacrifice.

But that quiet resentment?
It will eventually erode every relationship...romantic or otherwise.

Healing isn’t just about choosing better partners.
It’s about learning how to stop abandoning yourself in the first place.

We’re not doing surface-level connection anymore.
Not because we want “deeper conversations” for the sake of it.

But because surface-level connection is what happens when we haven’t felt safe enough to be seen.

Real connection asks something of us.
It asks us to know ourselves.
To name what we feel.
To slow down enough to notice what’s actually happening inside our bodies...not just what looks good on the outside.

For a lot of us, especially those who learned to be strong, capable, and self-sufficient early on, surface-level connection wasn’t a choice.
It was protection.

Vulnerability didn’t feel safe.
Depending on others didn’t feel available.
So we learned how to perform connection instead of experience it.

And here’s the part no one really talks about: You can be successful and surrounded by people...and still feel deeply alone.

Not because something is wrong with you.
But because depth requires safety, and safety is something we have to learn.

📣 I’m opening space this year for a small number of strategic advisory partnerships.

I do my best work with founders and purpose-driven organizations who know their work matters, people care about it… and yet something about the structure, programs, or customer experience isn’t fully matching the impact they want to have.

This is what working with me actually means: it’s not traditional consulting or surface-level workshops.

It's having a strategic partner by your side as you translate your mission into something real, structured, and deeply felt by the people you serve.

✔️ It means turning ideas, offers, or initiatives into programs that actually hold up and translate with your community and customers.
✔️ It means honestly looking at where the experience breaks down — for customers, members, or teams — and redesigning it so that trust and connection are deeply embedded and championing the mission becomes inevitable. 

I partner best with:
• Founder-led businesses building a new arm of their work (programs, memberships, learning experiences, services)
 • Membership or community-driven organizations where experience, human connection, belonging, and retention actually matter
 • Purpose-driven teams growing quickly and realizing their structure needs to evolve with them
 • Leaders who care deeply about their impact and want their internal and external experience to reflect that

This work can include:
 ✨ Designing or refining programs, offers, or service structures
 ✨ Strengthening the customer or member journey from first touch to long-term loyalty
 ✨ Building leadership or learning experiences that actually translate into behavior
