I studied in psychology in college, but being a shrink wasn’t for me.

So I became a marketer instead.

After a decade of working with nearly every type of business, I noticed a pattern…

Stories are tools for change.  
From ancient times to our tech-driven world today. 

Stories can change the future.  
They move people into action.  
You have to cut through the noise.  
That’s why we at Koekepeer tell 'stories of flesh and blood'.  

The mission is simple: Goosebumps, a smile, or a lump in the throat. 
To progress, people need to know, like, and trust you.

I have a tremendous drive to understand how the world works. During and after my studies, I worked as a journalist for ten years, interviewing thousands of people and creating programs for various broadcasters. From Radio 1 to regional stations. From BNN to Llink. Thousands of stories. From people sleeping under bridges to the Prime Minister. Both socialists and liberals, from activists to realists, inventors and top athletes. Tech entrepreneurs and the woman stuck at home with her stairlift. From Amsterdam to San Francisco.  

With that experience, I now lead a creative team of amazing people to help our clients show the 'soul of their brand'. Koekepeer creates marketing campaigns that cut through the noise. We combine creativity with strategy. Above all, we love simplicity. Because most people make decisions based on feelings.  

We create campaigns for organizations like the Red Cross (about human trafficking and labor exploitation), the National Association of General Practitioners (about the care and concerns of general practitioners), Deloitte (against money laundering), but also for SME’s like GeldZo.nl (strategy, brand, and campaigns). Often campaigns with a social mission. Activating, touching, moving people. But also simply to drive sales.  

Marketing, advertising, branding, communication, nudging, seduction, storytelling; however you call it. What we do predates the oldest profession. Because ultimately, marketing is about people of flesh and blood.
