Au Cameroun, la simplicité est assimilée à l'incompétence.
C'est celui qui s'habille le mieux et qui fait le plus de bruit qu'on accorde du crédit et des honneurs.

Avec le temps, ça arrêté de m'affecter.

Par contre, être médiocre et vouloir donner des leçons aux personnes qu'on sait plus brillantes que soi, relève de la sorcellerie.

Et c'est cette même sorcellerie qui a donné naissance au marketing poubelle. 😏

Le marketing poubelle ou garbage marketing consiste à ramasser tout ce qu'on peut dans la culture, la sous-culture, les tendances et surtout les buzz, et à mixer le tout dans le discours publicitaire ; sans aucune considération pour le positionnement ou pour l'identité de marque.

Dès lors, l'actualité n'est plus une opportunité de communication, mais une occasion pour les communicants amateurs de manifester un opportunisme sauvage.

La tendance devient communication.

C'est la plupart du temps, de l'opportunisme sauvage et écervelé, que les agences et les pseudo professionnels essaient de déguiser en newsjacking.

Pourtant, le newsjacking a ses codes et ses règles. 

Bref, je vous en dis plus là-dessus et comment échapper à ce piège de la purulence dans mon prochain livre qui sort en fin Avril 2026.

Du marketing tribal au marketing poubelle

Quand on confond culture et sous-culture, on se retrouve en train d'embrouiller notre public.

Quand on est une marque internationale (dans plus d'un pays) il est très délicat de jouer avec des codes culturels.

Notamment en Afriques, où au sein d'un même pays, les cultures ne sont parfois pas homogènes.

Djamo a fait un mouvement audacieux :

1. En Côte d'Ivoire avec « Djamo Deh! »
2. Au Sénnégal avec « No stress, Djamo Rek! »
3. Hâte de voir ce qu'ils vont proposer au Cameroun 🤓

Et en matière de communication, ça fonctionne parfaitement.

Pourqoui ?

Parce que le discours de marque, et même le discours publicitaire intègrent la culture.

Toutefois, j'ai très peur qu'en voulant s'en inspirer, les « copy-paste marketers » versent dans la démesure et se lancent dans :

1. l'appropriation culturelle
2. le pillage de la sous-culture

Avec les dangers qui s'en suivent pour l'image des marques pour lesquelles ils travaillent.
