Bancroft Architects + Engineers is a service-disabled veteran-owned engineering firm, dedicated to pioneering the efficient design of highly technical electrical and mechanical systems.  The company was named in honor of the late Secretary of the Navy, George Bancroft, who established the United States Naval Academy in 1845.  The trademark signature that forms Bancroft’s company logo is actually the signature of George Bancroft, used with permission.

By 2009, Geo. Bancroft Engineering had earned its CVE certification as a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and had grown to 11 full-time engineers, each with sterling academic credentials that include multiple and advanced degrees from the world’s top schools.  With mechanical, electrical, civil, and aerospace engineers, Geo. Bancroft Engineering offered clients a range of engineering services, backed by a portfolio of project experience unlike any other set-aside firm in America.

Recognizing the need to broaden its scope of design expertise, Jenkins purchased one of the region’s most respected small architectural firms, Facilities Solutions Group, in 2011.  Known for their precision in designing intensely complex facilities for scientific, military, and life sciences clients around the world, Facilities Solutions Group had the added advantage of an impeccable project history that extends back into the late 1990s.  The name of the merged firm, Bancroft Architects + Engineers, reflects both the legacy of the original company with the historical connection to the Navy and Naval Academy as well as the full range of services on offer.

Now with 59 full-time architects and engineers working from regional offices around the United States, in addition to the Illinois headquarters, Bancroft continues to grow.

Retired Army Officer after over 20 years, one peacekeeping deployment, three combat deployments, and multiple assignments and command.  Leading teams of 3 people to 489 people.  My legacy is my command (leading and managing over 200 people) and being director of recruitment (Green to Gold) with over 200-scholarships and contracts (placements) personally made in a span of 2-years.   Being a combat advisor and helping the Iraqi Army (11th Infantry Division) to force generate from 90 staff officers to over 9,000 strong in less than a year.  This required strategic recruiting initiatives, planning, and coordination with the Iraqi Ministry of Defense and other high-level stakeholders.   Being dual hatted as a battalion executive officer and chief of operations for a brigade support battalion (managing over 489 people) during reset (and core leader displacement to Afghanistan) leading the organization from red to green in 12 months.   Working with over 120 contractors and government civilian service employees to oversee a multi-million dollar computer and instrumentation system including its integrated equipment at the U.S. Army’s premier training facility:  The National Training Center (NTC).  Advisor to a OC/T battalion and later served as their BN S3/XO.
