The company was named in honor of the late Secretary of the Navy, George Bancroft, who established the United States Naval Academy in 1845. With mechanical, electrical, civil, and aerospace engineers, Geo. Bancroft Engineering offered clients a range of engineering services, backed by a portfolio of project experience unlike any other set-aside firm in America.

Recognizing the need to broaden its scope of design expertise, Jenkins purchased one of the region’s most respected small architectural firms, Facilities Solutions Group, in 2011.  Known for their precision in designing intensely complex facilities for scientific, military, and life sciences clients around the world, Facilities Solutions Group had the added advantage of an impeccable project history that extends back into the late 1990s.  The name of the merged firm, Bancroft Architects + Engineers, reflects both the legacy of the original company with the historical connection to the Navy and Naval Academy as well as the full range of services on offer.

I joined the Richard Group Team in January of 2018 with over 40 years of skilled tradesmen construction experience. As a Sr. Superintendent, Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) and Quality Control Manager (QCM) I was tasked with ensuring all aspects of the company(s) safety plan were being followed by all individuals onsite. Safety meetings and safety inspections of the job-site were conducted daily and QC and Safety reports were prepared and submitted. Sharp Grossmont Hospital

$41 million TI: The scope of the project included the build-out of approximately 75,000 square feet on three patient care floors in the existing ED/CCU, adding a total of 90 new beds. Level 2 consists of 24 Critical Care Rooms, configured into three eight-bed units called “Pods” organized around three separate nurse station areas. Level 4 & Level 5 consists of 33 Acute Care Nursing Rooms per floor arranged around two primary nurse stations located off contiguous corridors. The work included installation of new air handlers and related equipment on a Mechanical Floor (Level 6) as well as new RO/DI (Reverse Osmosis & Deionized) water equipment in the basement of the building for use in hemodialysis. A new chiller was installed at the exterior of the building on the site adjacent to and East of the existing helipad. In addition, several other diverse activities were necessary on the occupied Levels EDU & CCU to accommodate the aggressive schedule, including selective demolition and concrete coring. Disruption to the standard operating procedures of the hospital were minimized during construction of this project through logistically phased scheduling while at all times adhering to stringent Fire, Life Safety procedures and OSHPD constraints.
