I'm not person who promises to bring you your number of customers in a month. I am not a traditional marketer who will argue about the need to increase the budget to implement another brilliant campaign, neither.

The longer I work as a marketer, the more I appreciate how diverse and complex marketing is, especially in B2B. I have already understood that no concepts (e.g. content marketing, They Ask You Answer, lead generation, brand) nor communication channels (e.g. social media, digital) nor even technology (e.g. marketing automation, CRM or AI) which is a silver bullet that will solve all problems and lead a company to prosperity. 

All of these are merely useful puzzles from can be used to put together a process that supports the implementation of your business strategy (provided it exists 😉) in the main areas for which B2B marketing may be responsible:

▶ Understanding the market and customers
▶ Sales and distribution support
▶ Brand building and value perception.

Oczekiwania wobec marketerów B2B są ogromne: buduj markę, generuj popyt, wspieraj sprzedaż. Tyle że budżet na realizację tych celów często... nie dorasta do ambicji (złośliwi mówią nawet, że jest „homeopatyczny” 😉).

Z drugiej strony, zarząd widzi w marketingu worek bez dna.

Kto ma rację? I jak znaleźć racjonalny poziom inwestycji w markę, żeby nie przepalać pieniędzy, ale też nie zniknąć z rynku?

Czyli co? Sprawa jest prosta?
Skoro #Marka w B2B ma tak cudowne właściwości, że dzięki niej klienci:
🟠 sami się zgłaszają do sprzedawców 🙋 
🟠 są gotowi zapłacić za produkt więcej (a marża źródłem zysku!) 💵 
🟠 a nawet są skłonni kupić produkt gorszy i droższy! 🫨 

To nie ma się co zastanawiać, tylko zlecić marketingowi "budowę silnej marki". Sprawa załatwiona. Można liczyć zyski.

Marka źródłem przewagi konkurencyjnej.

Agnieszka pięknie opisuje działanie #Regula95do5 w B2B oraz jej konsekwencje dla budowania tzw. "dostępności mentalnej", czyli owego skojarzenia: jeśli potrzebuję rozwiązania X to dobrym wyborem będzie marka Y. 👍

Kłopot ze zbudowaniem tej dostępności (czyli skojarzenia: problem -> marka) polega na tym, że - tak jak mówi Agnieszka - moment szukania dostawcy jest stosunkowo krótki i przez większość czasu potencjalni klienci nie są zainteresowani ofertą. To stąd bierze się właśnie ten stosunek, że W KAŻDYM momencie:
🟠 5% potencjalnych klientów jest "in market" - czyli szuka dostawcy
🟠 95% potencjalnych klientów jest "out of market" - czy nie szuka (bo nie ma takiej potrzeby).

Jak więc budować markę? 
NA PEWNO nie informacją o ofercie - bo ta będzie ignorowana przez 95% rynku!

Łukasz Kosuniak w swoim podcaście (polecam!) posłużył się świetną analogią:
Gdy wychodzisz od fryzjera nawet najlepsza oferta strzyżenia ma ultra niskie szanse przekonać cię do ponownej strzyżenia.

To dlatego właśnie w B2B tak często #ContentMarketing (a nie treści sprzedażowe!) są narzędziem budowy marki. Bo dobry content marketing to treści niebezpośrednio związane z ofertą, a więc takie, które mają szansę zainteresować klientów "out of market", a więc 95% rynku.

Zarządzający chcą widzieć w #MarketingROI uniwersalne narzędzie diagnostyczne, które udzieli odpowiedzi czy marketing działa dobrze, czy nie i jeszcze będzie wskazówką "co robić?". 
Moim zdaniem to całkowicie nierealistyczne oczekiwania. 🤷

🟠 Czy mechanik diagnozując twój samochód podaje ci cyfrę - a ty już wiesz co musisz zaprawić?
🟠 Czy lekarz mówi ci: "Jest Pan zdrowy w 67%." i czy to jest jasna wskazówka, jak powinno wyglądać leczenie?
🟠 Czy można zarządzać firmą posługując się jednym wskaźnikiem finansowym?

To dlaczego w przypadku marketingu miałby być inaczej?!

Marketing - tak jak wiele innych dziedzin życia - to splot skomplikowanych oddziaływań, których nie da się opisać jedną cyfrą. Dlatego należy posługiwać się całą gamą wskaźników - od leadów, aż po parametry związane z marką - gdyż dopiero wtedy ma się jakąś sensowną podstawę do stawiania diagnozy i podejmowania decyzji.

Jest jeszcze głębsza konsekwencja tej konkluzji: jeśli zarządy chcą faktycznie zarządzać marketingiem to muszą choć trochę rozumieć marketing by móc te wskaźniki interpretować i sensownie o nich dyskutować. Tak samo jak choć trochę trzeba rozumieć mechanikę samochodową, medycynę, czy finanse.

Marketerzy B2B często skarżą się, że dla marketingu nie ma miejsca przy "stole decyzyjnym":
🟠 że nie jest dopuszczony do dyskusji nt. przyszłości firmy,
🟠 że nie ma możliwości bycia adwokatem rynku i klienta,
🟠 że nie ma miejsca na dyskusję o długowafolwej inwestycji w markę,
🟠 że marketing zostaje zredukowany do generowania leadów i pogoni za marketing ROI.

A co jeśli problemem nie jest to, że "przy decyzyjnym stole nie ma miejsca dla marketingu", ale że tego stołu po prostu nie ma?!

Nie ma rozmów o przyszłości, nie ma planowania, nie ma strategii... 
Jest tylko bieżąca działalność.

W sytuacji gdy coraz więcej osób / instytucji używa do istotnych zadań
#GenAI trenowane na publicznych danych, powstaje coraz większa pokusa by manipulować tymi danymi by wpływać na wynik działania owych systemów.

Tutaj dwa przykłady, że jest to zaskakująco proste:
👉 Rand Fishkin w najnowszym poście opowiada jak łatwo jest zmanipulować wyniki o informacji nt. firmy postując na Reditt.
👉 @wilreynolds pokazuje jak można manipulować informacją na temat firmy za pomocą JEDNEJ recenzji. 
👉 ArsTechnica opisuje jak łatwo sprawić, by zmanipulować LLMy by umieszczały niebezpieczny kod w tworzonym przez nich software'rze.

Mnie jako marketera oczywiście najbardziej interesuje scenariusz LLMów jako narzędzi researchu związanego z zakupem. Każdy z nas zadaje sobie pytania:
🟠 Jak klienci będą wykorzystywać GenAI w procesie zakupowym?
🟠 Jak wpływać na wyniki?
🟠 Gdzie jest granica pomiędzy wpływaniem a manipulacją?

Mam też małe de ja vu, gdy w końcu lat 90-tych rodziło się SEO, które początkowo polegało na prostych patentach manipulacji wyników SERP. No ale przez ponad dwie dekady wyścigu zbrojeń wyszukiwarki mniej lub bardziej skutecznie były wstanie wyeliminować lub wykluczyć z wyników wyszukiwania takie nierzetelne źródła.
Ciekawe jak poradzą sobie z tym LLMy, których odpowiedzi nie są tworzone na postawie jednego, konkretnego źródła ale są wynikiem całości danych wykorzystanych do treningu?

Jak myślicie, że to się rozwinie? 🤔 

PS. Zawsze wydawało mi się, że najciekawsze rzeczy w marketingu będą się działy po stronie klientów wykorzystujących GenAI, a nie marketerów.
