Hey Linkedin 👋 I’m back.

I was 120% focused on building Valuecase in the last 12 months and organic content was just not part of our growth equation.

That’s why I literally posted about stopping posting on LinkedIn a year ago.

In the meantime, we had the best year ever. We won 150+ new customers, landed some very big logos, and shipped like maniacs.

But now I have a lot of learnings to share.

We're testing growth channels, building AI workflows, automating operations – and I want to document what's working in real time.

So I’m back posting here on a more regular schedule.

Super happy to welcome Alessandro Casciaro. 

He joins us as Senior Product Designer.

Ale grew up in southern Italy, studied design in Korea, and spent 5 years building SaaS products before joining our team in Hamburg.

In his first 8 weeks with us, he:

– redesigned our checkout flow (day 1) 
– joined countless customer calls 
– redesigned one of the most complex parts of our app (tba!)

This ad cost us €0 in production.

No actors. No studio. No camera crew.

We made it in a day with AI.

Sure it's not TV quality.

But this was definitely not possible 2 years ago.

Honestly, I'm still figuring out how to think about AI in marketing.

On one hand, it lets us create things that were never in our budget. We never even considered video ads — too expensive.

Now we spin up variants with different hooks and for different use cases in hours and see what sticks.

On the other hand, if we can do this, so can everyone else. The barrier just dropped to zero. And needless to say, consumer fraud will be everywhere.

Yes, we've shipped AI features before – generating visuals from prompts, creating blocks from pasted Excel, building pages from a single sentence.

But they didn't stick because you couldn't iterate.

This release changes that. A proper chat where you go back and forth until things are right.

But that’s not all:

We also rebuilt our entire editor from scratch. New left sidebar, cleaner navigation, much faster experience.

And finally:

Workflows are out of beta with a new interface, new actions, and templates.

This release is so big that we called it Valuecase v3 internally.

I’m pretty sure you’ll love it. 🫶

Here's the exact 5-step AI system we use to create launch comms at Valuecase in a few hours instead of days – all tools (and a 🎁) included.

1️⃣ The preparation

Our product team uses ClickUp to organise work. Epics, user stories, bug tickets go there. Many of them are written by our AI product manager which has access to Slack and can pull relevant context. Thus, tasks are written increasingly well.

Every task has a field “Comms needed” to pre select things that need to be communicated vs. things we “just ship”.

2️⃣ Newsletter

Using Make, we set up an AI workflow that pulls all tasks with the “Comms needed” tag. It knows which tasks belong together and creates a first draft for the product newsletter.

We review and finalise the draft with AI – usually in Cursor.

3️⃣ All other written content

Based on the newsletter, Cursor creates the short form content: Linkedin post, X post, Blog post etc.

We have a folder for every release and it’s easy for Cursor to reference past projects. This is key for having a consistent style and evolve it over time. We created a full process documentation (SOP) for Cursor to reference while going through the process.

At this stage, all written content is done and this usually does not take more than 25 minutes total.

4️⃣ Video

I record a video that walks through the main new features. E.g. for yesterday, I showed our new AI chat, new editor design, and updates for our workflow feature.

I typically record late in the evening with a basic setup. It's not scripted, but Cursor gives me the main talking points. Afterwards, we use Descript to cut the video for Youtube & Linkedin, do basic animations etc.

This is by far the most time consuming part of the process – but I don't want to automate it (yet). 

5️⃣ Distribution

We’re using Intercom to send our product newsletter and do in-product communication. We also created a changelog with Valuecase. Cursor has an MCP to publish the blog post. 

For short form, we tried a couple of things but manual posting works best for us. In some cases, we do a webinar with a live Q&A as well.

That’s it. In end, you’re looking at ~8 pieces of written and video content in different places and it's pretty easy for us to expand that.

I showed it at a meetup before and it was the most photographed slide by far.

It’s a markdown file you can give the AI to follow and execute. And using it feels pretty futuristic.

This is the scorecard we use to run our SaaS.

No OKRs or BI tools, just a simple spreadsheet reviewed weekly.

And it's cross-department, shared with the whole team.

Our process:

- Goals are set monthly, based on our quarterly and annual planning.

- Every metric has an owner.

- Every week the metric owners fill the numbers before our all hands meeting.

- The metric owner also marks the status: Green if it's on track, Yellow if it's off track but with an improvement plan, Red if it's off track without a plan.

- Important: This is all manual, by design. We're not looking for data, we want insight.

If you run a bigger team, add departmental scorecards.

Maybe it helps if you feel your goal setting and tracking systems create a lot of busywork.

Just take the template & adjust the KPIs to your business and priorities.

Credit where credit is due, this is heavily inspired by Ryan Deiss.

P.S. I left out the cash flow management part – that’s something we do in a different system.
