It was 8:36pm when I noticed a shadow run across the wall…

I didn’t think much of it.
Probably another gecko 🦎
I love watching those little guys running around the walls.

Plus, I was mid-conversation with our newest team member… deep in work mode.

But then… it happened again.

I looked up and almost launched myself out of the chair as a giant spider came sprinting towards my desk.

Wow 😳

Biggest spider I’ve ever seen.
At least 4 inches wide.
(No exaggeration)

I ran into the other room with my laptop to finish the call, and then went back to assess the situation.

As a yogi, I practice non-harm.
So killing it wasn’t an option.

So there I was…
An empty box in one hand.
A short broom in the other.

Miss Blue Eyes behind me, creating a makeshift barricade with yoga mats and pillows to stop it escaping into the bedroom.

Both our hearts pounding as I searched the corners of the office, trying to locate this ninja-level spider 🥷 

And in that moment I realised something:

There are two ways to approach situations like this:

A. Stressed, overthinking, second-guessing your strategy

OR

B. Calm, grounded, confident, trusting you’ll handle whatever comes up

So I chose option B.

A quick sweep with the brush.
A smooth capture with the box.
And one safely relocated spider back into the wild.

But here’s the insight:

Most people live their entire life in Group A.

Always under pressure.
Constant mental noise.
Never enough time.

But life doesn’t have to be lived that way.

When you shift into Group B…

And frankly, I've been watching this coming for three years.

Views have been periodically decreasing since I joined the platform.

But here's what never changed.

DMs.

LinkedIn never restricted them in the past 3 years.

At least not for Premium users.

For three years, while the algorithm shifted...

While reach tanked...

While posts became a paid game...

DMs stayed the same.

Three referrals landed in my inboxes this week.

I didn't get it at first.

We had a simple question.

Why waste time on tea?

I agree in the end.

Here's what I learned:

In the West, we lead with business.

We ask the question. 
We make the pitch. 
We close the deal.

In Japan, they lead with the "person".

They build the relationship first.

You establish a baseline of trust...

Then the business follows naturally.

Most people get this backwards with outreach too...

They think relationship-building is a tactic.

A warm-up before the real ask.

But it's not.

Since they have different products and markets...

We picked up some relevant people within the company...

Operating in key geographical areas.

Then I built this system

1)  Content agent.

Not random posts. Strategic content that positions you as the obvious choice in your space.
