• Harcourt Health Sciences – owned search tool design, collaborated on site concept and nomenclature; managed interaction with engineering

With 25 years of experience in digital design, I’ve had the privilege of helping countless businesses — from startup to Fortune 50 —  navigate their design and marketing challenges.

On the SaaS product side, as a UX & UI design specialist, I’m particularly jazzed about making complex screens feel simple — even for expert users. I believe good design gets out of the way (for the user), but can be a powerful weapon (for sales).

On the marketing side, I focus on streamlining design as a vehicle for the real important stuff: content marketing and demand generation. I’ve seen how the right design can amplify a brand’s message and drive significant growth.

I am a leadership catalyst - helping executives and founders get from where they are to where they want to be.

Why should you trust me to be your coach, CEO, board member - or even read my book?

My first "formal" leadership role was as Vice President of my Junior Achievement chapter in high school. Someone almost cut their finger off in the shop. The rest of the people never showed up on shop days. Somebody else sucked the helium out of an entire ballon, passed out, and wrecked the table at our biggest sales event. Three of us figured out how to salvage the team that year. My contribution earned me the recognition as our district's Outstanding Young Businessman of the Year.

What I learned was way more important than the accolade:

1. That leading well is hard work, best done with intention.
2. That leading well requires leaning in when there are gaps.
3. That leading well requires leaning out and helping others to step up.

It would not be my last leadership role-or my most challenging one. From leadership roles at IBM to pitching a business acquisition on 5th Avenue, my career has been filled with impossible and interesting learning moments.

Among them was becoming a business coach in the 1990's when coaching was new, not understood, and definitely not accepted - especially in technical places.

The most powerful thing I've learned? Leadership is about serving others and building great things, together.

That's why I'm a coach who also consults.
