Helped a new VP of Sales at an Enterprise AI Client hire the first 3 members of his Sales Team: Our team consulted with the VP to identify the profiles he needed, researched and built a list of target companies to source from, then reached out nationwide to over 350 AEs in our network, interviewed/screened over 70, submitted 30 to the VP for review, and he hired 3 - saving 100’s of man-hours in the process.

We've built out and engineering teams with the top 30 startups across the country.

Placed Director of Growth at a Fintech Startup: After hiring the Director of Growth, we were asked if we could help with two PM roles, they were struggling with filling. We did so in about 5 weeks for both a Platform PM and Mobile PM. This led to an introduction to their Design team, where we have helped them hire 3 Sr. Product Designers.

Most companies aren’t bad at hiring Product Managers.

They’re bad at defining them.

There’s a huge difference between:
• 0→1 builders
• Growth optimizers
• Platform architects
• Roadmap coordinators

If you don’t calibrate that upfront, you’ll interview 15 “strong” candidates and still feel stuck.

Product hiring breaks down when:
– The mandate isn’t clear
– Success isn’t defined
– Stakeholder complexity is underestimated
– “Strategic” and “technical” get used interchangeably

The best PMs are elite problem framers.

They create clarity, drive alignment, and ship under ambiguity.

When we recruit for Product roles, we don’t start with resumes.
We start with calibration:
What does winning look like in 12 months?
Where has this role failed before?
Is this a builder or a scaler?

That clarity changes everything.

How do you actually screen for great Product Managers?

A lot of people can talk product. Far fewer can actually own product.

When I screen PMs, I look for a few simple signals:

• Ownership – What did they actually drive?
• Decision making – What trade-offs did they make and why?
• Customer focus – Are they solving real user problems or just shipping features?
• Metrics – Do they know the outcomes their work drove?
• Influence – How do they align engineers, design, and leadership?
Great PMs don’t just ship features.

They own decisions and outcomes.

for people who genuinely struggle with it…

That doesn’t disappear because of AI.

• Shipping features
• Fixing real friction

AI can replicate features.
It can’t replicate lived understanding.
It can’t replicate trust.
It can’t replicate deep industry context overnight.

The real question isn’t
“Will AI replace us?”

It’s:
Are we building something shallow
or something that actually reduces pain?

Fear is understandable.

But this is also the best time I’ve seen in years
to build something meaningful.

Because the builders who focus on real problems
are moving faster than ever.

Most founders today reach for better tools first.
New frameworks. Latest AI systems.
More dashboards. More automation.

But the real problem in many teams
isn’t tools.

It’s what I call the Blueprint Problem.

We have tools for almost everything now:
• Coding
• Databases
• Logging and tracking
• AI agents
• Deployment pipelines

The modern tech stack is incredibly powerful.
Yet somehow… building products hasn’t become easier.

In many teams, it has quietly become harder.
A bug appears in production.
People open dashboards.
Logs start flowing.
Slack threads begin.

And the only person who can really explain what’s happening
is usually the developer who wrote that piece of code.

Because behind the scenes, teams spend more time:
• Debugging than developing
• Deploying than improving
• Searching through code than building clarity

That’s the Blueprint Problem.

We keep adding tools
before designing the structure.

Every good building starts with a blueprint.
Software is no different.
Tools add power.
Structure adds direction.

And when the blueprint is clear,
even complex systems become manageable.

The best teams don’t win because they use more tools.
They win because their systems are simple enough
that everyone knows where to look when something breaks.
