In 2019, I made my *first ever* investment into a business idea.

👀 It was £122.40 & my life has NEVER been the same since ↴

Why? 

→ because it gave me a taste of what it feels like to invest money and energy into my dreams.

Which is a crazy concept for a working-class girl like me...

At the time I was;

→ still at uni
→ broke as hell
→ terrified of wasting my money

Investing into a business idea was SO alien to me back then.

But making that first payment propelled me into a lifetime of entrepreneurship.

It was that pivotal step between;

...sitting in my 'fear-zone' forever.

...embracing discomfort to make moves towards a life I knew I had the potential to receive.

And I KNEW I had that potential in me. 

But I also knew potential doesn't work alone.

It was me who had to make intentional choices to move closer towards it.

Thank F*CK I made that decision that day in my cr*ppy little uni room. 

Because that 'potential dream life' is quite literally now a reality.

At 27 y/o I quit everything and started again...

My job, my home, my entire life. It was honestly terrifying! ↴

Everyone around me thought my life was pretty solid…

I’d moved to London post-graduation
Started my a well-paid design career
Ran my own events in the city

On the surface, it all looked amazing.

But something was off…

Whilst I was enjoying my life,
I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was meant for something different.

Deciding to give up everything I had in order to chase that feeling was once of the hardest (yet simultaneously easy) choices I’ve ever had to make!

My gut told me it was the exact right thing to do.

So I did… …I dropped everything.

I quit my well-paid city job
I gave up my lovely Fulham apartment
I left the relationship I was in at that time
I sold everything I owned and moved across the globe

🫣 Completely alone.

Despite that being one of the scariest, intense decisions I’ve ever made in my life… I have not, for a single second, regretted it ever since!

That act of “burning” to my life to nothing gave me the opportunity to rebuild it into something new.

Something I truly wanted!

Now I had nothing, I had the opportunity to have *everything*.

My biggest mission in life is to say yes to every dream I have,
and do everything in my power to help others do the same!

That’s why I started Rebel Design Club.

I give LinkedIn FAR TOO MUCH credit for my success…
Of course, it’s played a huge part in it.
But without these 3 things, I’d be nothing… ↴

I vouch for LinkedIn allll the time.

Posting on here has changed my life in so many ways.

But I think it goes without saying,
LinkedIn is not the only reason I am where I am today.

In fact, without these 3 things, LinkedIn would have not worked at all:

1 → The people supporting me

This includes those around me, new friends I’ve made on the journey and the people who continuously support the work I’m doing here on LinkedIn.

2 → The courage to say “f*ck it”

It’s scary to put yourself out there. I still feel that fear now when I try something new (+ I feel it haaard), but I refuse to allow that to stop me going after what I want. So I say “f*ck it” and do it anyway.

3 → My sheer, intense determination

Going off my last point, I will stop at nothing to get what I want from my life. I have pushed and pushed for the last 2 years with rarely a break. That consistency has played a huge part in being able to run my businesses full-time since 2023.

I think putting all of my success at the mercy of LinkedIn is actually a disservice to both myself and the people who have supported me this whole time.

Without those 3 things alongside this platform, there’s no way any of this would have worked out.

My point is, there’s a lot of people here who want to grow their brand on LinkedIn…

But you need these other things too to be successful!

I’ve attracted clients on LinkedIn for 2 years consistently,
+ consumed hundreds of hours of content on client acquisition.
Here’s the highest-ROI trick I use to get clients on LinkedIn ↴

I get asked all the time how I use LinkedIn to find clients for my branding business.

& this is where I’ve seen the most traction.

→ share your thought processes! 💭

Especially if you want higher-ticket clients.

Anyone in your field can provide a deliverable…

but if you can prove your method will get the best results for client,
that has wayyy more value.

Along with your work, also start sharing:

→ what questions you ask before you start a project
→ why your process is unique to your business
→ what you disagree with in your industry
→ what you prioritise first (and why)
→ what won’t get your client results

etc, etc…

This does 3 things:

1. It positions you as an expert without saying “I’m an expert”
2. It pre-qualifies clients who already align with how you work
3. It makes your work feel high-value before you ever mention price

I’ve seen so many service-providers have great success sharing content this way, and I have too at ALSK

Yes, keep sharing your work,
🎆 show what you can do 🎆
but don’t sleep on the why behind it all!

When I shared this hack to my Rebel Design Club newsletter subscribers,
the feedback was INSANE.

So many people had never heard of it but now realise just how powerful it is!

I know it sounds a bit random. But hear me out.

Each of us fit into a certain style of public speaking that feels the most natural to speak to an audience.

↳ So it would make sense that when WRITING content for our audience, in a way that feels authentic and most natural, that our public speaking profile will come in handy.

(As a designer by trade, this has made copywriting soooo much easier.)

Here's the 4 Public Speaking Profiles;

1: 💬 Fascinator

→ They share their knowledge and wisdom (facts & data) to reassure their audience they're a reliable and credible source.

2: 🤩 Inspirer

→ They have an endearing spirit and share relatable stories that help their audience feel super inspired.

3: 😅 Performer

→ They are natural entertainers who find it easy to relate to many people in their audience and make them laugh.

4: 💪 Energiser

→ They have the ability to fire people up with confidence and motivate them to get sh*t done.

Pretty cool, right?

Now when you're writing you can keep your profile in the back of your head and think...

"This is how I naturally best come across to my audience, so I want to feed that into my content..."

So if you want to write more authentic LinkedIn content, remember;

Consider that whilst you're writing
Keep pushing to learn and grow!

Here’s 5 traits EVERY creator in the top 0.01% has ↴

Before I started posting myself, I thought creators with super successful platforms had access to some sort of secret I would never be able to access.

But after paying closer attention, and working on my own creator platform for 2 years…

I now know that there is no “secret”, but there are 5 key traits every successful creator has:

(And anyone could have them too if they wanted)

🎆 → They question instead of give up

↳ When something flops, they don’t tell themselves they’re “terrible” and “not made to do this.
Instead, they ask “What can I try differently next time?”, “What can I learn to be better?”

🎆 → They take off the mask

↳ Top creators don’t wait until they’re “perfect” or “expert enough” to start sharing…
Instead, they show they’re human. And that’s what people connect to.

🎆 → They have resilience

↳ They’re not afraid to try new things and fail publicly. Even in front of hundreds of thousands, sometimes millions of people. This fuels innovation.

🎆 → They make creation easy

↳ Instead of forcing time into their schedule for content creation, they make it easy to fit in around their lives. Less overthinking, repetition and systems.

🎆 → They build a brand, not an audience

↳ Their brand is what makes them instantly recognisable and gives them serious longevity. They focus not just on as many numbers as possible, but on clear values, a distinct voice, and a consistent point of view.

Talent helps, for sure...

There’s also a bit of luck involved!

But those who are successful are so because of sheer determination.
And these traits all feed into that.

Plus, they’re all learnable!

And have done consistently for over 2 years!

Because I have something 🔑 99% of people don’t ↴

→ Complete. utter. obsession.

I don’t just mean it’s something I sit and ruminate over on a daily basis…

I mean serious, unshakable obsession.

Getting to £1M is a goal that I’m willing to;

Take huge risks to achieve.
Sacrifice other goals for.
Let consume my life.

And my lifestyle reflects that…

→ My day to day habits reflect that.
→ The media I consume reflects that.
→ The strategy within my biz reflects that.
→ The people I surround myself with reflect that.

But mostly, I am obsessed with providing as much value as possible with both ALSK + Rebel Design Club, that there's no way I can't achieve it. 

Every single day I make choices that feed my obsession with being a highly-successful business owner.

Because that’s exactly what it takes.

There’s a reason only 1% of people achieve elite levels of success…
…whether it’s in business, sport or within a certain skill.

You have to be so incredibly obsessed with it that you’re willing to sacrifice anything that gets in the way of achieving your goal...

And doing everything possible to build a business that is actually worth that amount. 

99% of people aren’t willing to do that.

(Which is so completely fair!!!)

💅 But I’m not one of them.

I’m willing to push as hard as it takes.

And that’s how I know I will run a multi-million dollar business one day.

If you’re a designer and want to build a following this year,
one that brings you the CRAZIEST opportunities…
you need to make THIS 🔑 mindset shift ↴

You need to choose to view yourself not only as a designer,
but as a *creator*.

You’ve been seeing your favourite designers win whilst you watch on from behind your phone screen for far too long.

You’ve been watching them;

→ Go full-time on their freelance business
→ Work with clients you want to work with
→ Get recognition for their skills from their audience
→ Partner with your favourite brands + earn money doing so
→ Be invited to the coolest industry events
→ Be sought after by brands, not the other way around
→ Earn money with uncapped potential

But the thing is, they’ve achieved all of that by becoming creators.
(Alongside being a designer).

They not only dedicated the time and energy into creating the content,
but they decided that’s who they are...

and showed up as that person every day!

…even at the beginning before any of the “cool stuff” above existed.

Instead of defining themselves as one singular thing,
without the skills of someone who creates content online…
They:

🌟 Learned the skills necessary to create great content
🌟 Posted and iterated based on analytics + feedback
🌟 Showed up on days the didn’t really feel like it
🌟 Did it even though they felt unqualified
🌟 Posted even though it was scary

Because that’s what an already successful content creator does.

And most importantly:

🎆 They declared they would not be a designer who lives in the sidelines any longer.

That’s exactly what it takes.

So the real question is…

Are you willing to put in that graft before it becomes anything worthwhile?

If yes, then you’re on your way to an endless stream of possibilities!

If no, then I’ll wave to you in the sidelines until you’re ready to go after what you want 👀

→ rushing the journey!

so many of us are outcome focused, myself included….

we’re so focused on what happens at the end,
and trying to get there, that we forget to enjoy the journey.

we’re obsessed with what happens at the end!

the launch
the number
the milestone

and in doing so, we forget to actually experience the thing we’re building

i talk allllll the time about going after your goals,
but I don’t speak enough about slowing down to enjoy the ride.

for example, I took the whole of december 2025 off client projects to work on upgrading Rebel Design Club.

re-launching was my sole-focus.
(+ I have been laser-focused, working my *ss off, lol)

i cared so much about the relaunching at the end of the month,
that i was stress-building everything.

that stress? it made me start resenting the work.

thankfully, i recognised this in myself and reminded myself,
🎆 i’m literally in control.

designers aren’t going to die if i take an extra couple of weeks to build something that’s actually valuable, instead of rushing just to say it’s “done”.

if you’re a business owner, here’s how to stop rushing (for real):

→ separate “progress” from “pressure”
just because you’re not launching yet doesn’t mean you’re behind.

→ set process goals, as well as outcome goals
instead of “launch by X date”, focus on “make this genuinely useful”.

→ build slack into your timelines on purpose
if you think something will take 4 weeks, plan for 6. future-you will thank you!

→ ask yourself weekly
“am i actually enjoying this, or just trying to get through it?”

→ speed does not equal success
clarity, intention, and sustainability win every time.

because the journey is the business. 

and if you hate the journey, you’ll eventually hate the result too…

and what’s the point of that?

so yes, it may have taken a little longer than expected to rebirth rebel design club…

💀 Everyday I get asked the same question…
”Hannah, how do I attract clients with my content?
9/10… they’re NOT focusing on THE most important thing ↴

→ focusing on being the “best”

If you’re at the start of your journey, forget trying to get clients.

You need to focus on being the best at what you do, and then showing evidence of that!

If you’re a designer, work on your craft,
and then show the evidence you’re great by:

🎆 Entering design awards
🎆 Sharing your work online
🎆 Being open about your process

If you’re a digital marketer, work on your craft,
and then show the evidence you’re great by:

🌟 Publishing campaigns with measurable results
🌟 Building and growing an audience or community
🌟 Clearly articulating strategy, experiments, and learnings

If you’re a copywriter, work on your craft,
and then show the evidence you’re great by:

🩷 Publishing breakdowns of why certain copy works or fails
🩷 Rewriting landing pages, ads, or emails for existing brands
🩷 Writing consistently in public to demonstrate voice and clarity

If you focus on doing this from the beginning,
the pay off in the long-term will be immeasurable.

This is why some people can quit their jobs, go freelance, and immediately start attracting clients…

Because they’re already built a great reputation for themselves!

But if you haven’t done that, or had that opportunity,
proving you’re great should be absolute top of mind for you!

Spend at least 1 hour, every day, for a week on this and I bet you’ll start seeing 10x the results you were having previously.

At 23 y/o, my philosophy tutor labelled me a “thinker”.
For 6 years I was addicted to that label…
Which almost destroyed my entire future ↴

The thing is, I do think A LOT…

I love to explore within myself and outwardly in the world.

At the time, I was honoured to be seen as such.

(I love philosophy so naturally, it filled me with joy).

But now… 6 years later, I’ve realised my addiction to being labelled a thinker has contributed to me being behind on my goals.

Whilst I’ve progressed a lot, I’ve been held back by an addiction to thinking

💀 The problem: Thinking feels productive…

It feels like progress. But thinking without action is just…
procrastination in disguise.

I'd journal about my goals.
Daydream about the life I wanted.
Analyse every possible outcome before making a move.

And while I was thinking…
others were doing.

🌟The truth: Over-thinking is safe... Action is scary.

Because action means you might fail. Get rejected. Look stupid.

But here's what I've learned:

★ Imperfect action beats perfect planning
★ You can't think your way to confidence, you act your way there
★ The "right time" is a lie thinkers tell themselves

🎆 The reframe: I’m rejecting the label “thinker”, and adopting “doer”.

Because execution is what breeds real success.
