이는 미국 전체 평균 상승률의 2배를 웃돕니다.

이건 단순히 한 산업의 일시적 붐이 아닙니다.
인구 고령화와 AI 데이터센터 증설, 즉 AI Capex Supercycle이 겹치면서
공기의 흐름을 다루는 기술자가 세상에서 가장 귀한 사람이 되어가고 있습니다.

주식 시장도 이미 반응했습니다.
HVAC 전문 인력 공급 기업 Comfort Systems USA ($FIX)의 주가는
매 분기 실적 발표 때마다 계단처럼 꾸준히 상승하고 있습니다.

물리 세계의 기술은 새로운 르네상스를 맞고 있습니다.
AI를 돌리기 위해선 결국 진짜 냉각 장치가 필요하니까요.

1. 디자인과 품질이 점점 더 경쟁력(“moat”)이 된다:

AI 덕분에 평범한 제품은 점점 도태되고, 
탁월한 디자인과 정교한 ‘craft’만이 시장에서 차별화된다. 
“Good enough is not enough. It’s mediocre.” 
즉, 이제 차별화는 ‘디자인 완성도’와 ‘퀄리티’에 달려있다.

2. 실패에도 흔들리지 않는 조직 유지:

Adobe의 20B 달러 인수 실패 후에도 Dylan은 투명한 커뮤니케이션, 
명확한 방향 제시, 선택과 집중(Detaching 프로그램)으로 
조직의 사기와 속도를 유지했다.

3. 빠른 실행과 ‘Time to Value’에 집착:

제품이나 기능을 출시할 때 사용자가 아주 빠르게 가치를 
느낄 수 있도록 ‘Time to Value’를 극대화하는 데 집착한다. 
기본기와 새로운 경험 제공을 동시에 추구한다.

4. 제품 라인업 확장 전략:

기존 제품에 피처를 계속 추가하는 대신, 
사용자의 워크플로우를 따라 활용도를 세분화하여 
별도 제품(FigJam, Slides, Buzz 등)으로 확장. 
“고객의 실제 작업 단위에서 어디서부터 어디까지를 
Figma가 책임질 것인가?”에 집중.

5. AI가 디자인 프로세스와 역할 경계를 허문다:

Figma Make 등 AI 도구 덕분에 디자이너, PM, 엔지니어의 
역할 경계가 점점 희미해지고, 
모든 사람이 프로덕트 빌더화한다는 트렌드를 반영해
일반인도 프로토타입을 만들고, 기존 팀원들은 역할을 넘나들기 시작함.

6. ‘취향(Design Taste)’은 리더십의 핵심 역량:

좋은 디자인을 판단하는 ‘취향(taste)’을 기르는 방법: 
다양한 경험과 피드백, 자신만의 판단 프레임워크를 만드는 반복. 
진짜 ‘taste maker’는 소수이지만 누구나 취향을 발전시킬 수 있음.

7. AI가 일자리를 위협하진 않는다, 오히려 잠재력을 키운다:

생산성 향상이 기존 인력의 감축으로 이어지지 않았고, 
오히려 채용 확장 중. AI는 반복적인 일을 대체하고, 
팀원들은 더 창의적인 고민과 문제 해결에 집중.

8. Figma의 문화와 조직 운영:

창의적이고 Maker(만들기)에 진심인 인재를 중심으로 
조직의 문화를 유지. 성장 마인드, 자기 인식, 겸손 및 고도화된 craft 추구.
정기적으로 Maker Week 등 내부 해커톤 운영, 
다방면의 아이디어와 실험을 조직 차원에서 장려.

9. 실무적 교훈:

Figma는 사용자와의 피드백 루프(트위터, 포럼, 이벤트 등)를 강화하고, 
정책적으로도 Detach 프로그램을 통해 조직의 쉬운 이탈을 인정하며 
경력 전환을 적극 격려했다. 
또한 명확한 문제 정의와 빠른 실행을 중시하며, 
불확실성은 리더가 해소해야 할 중요한 역할임을 강조한다.
