I asked my Attention Slack Bot -  What are the top 3 objections I faced this year?”

The results were:

- Team was too small 

- Too expensive / more than they had planned to budget for

- Misalignment of their needs / my offering



Having this ranked list in seconds gave me clarity. 

I didn’t have to open browser tabs, dig through call recordings, or pull data from multiple systems. 

The answers were right there in Slack.

Frankly, I was a bit surprised by the list. 

If I would have trusted my gut, I would have guessed “too expensive” was my top objection. 



What I actually learned is that I am meeting with too many unqualified people. 

The insights my Attention Helper Slack Bot gave me, made me rethink my approach. 



👉 Here is what I am changing: 

1. I need to recommit to ALWAYS sending out my list of 4 pre-qualifying questions to all inbound leads and even referrals. 

Just because somebody is interested in talking to me, doesn’t mean I can help or that the conversation is a good use of their time. 


2. Honestly, I’m not going to do much about the “too expensive” objection 👀

I have spent a LOT of time validating my price point. I know I am fairly priced and far from the top of the pricing range for similar offerings. 

I know that after 20 years, the folks that want to pay the least always expect the most SO I will continue with a high degree of confidence that I know how to talk about price v value and that it’s better to disqualify early if folks really can’t afford to work with me. 


3. I have been wanting to create a referral list so it’s easier for me to say hey, it seems like you’re actually looking for a 1:1 coach, here are my top 3 recommendations OR I don’t work with pre-revenue companies but I suggest you talk to X. 

Knowing that misalignment is a top 3 objection thanks to my Attention call data,  has moved creating that referral document higher up my to-do list. 

Even if I am not the right vendor, I want to be able to help folks find good people to work with. 



The objections didn’t disappear, but they became easier to anticipate and address. 

Most importantly, having this visibility will save me a ton of time. 

If I’m being honest, I would not have taken the time to manually surface these objections… but now that I have them at my fingertips, I will save a ton of time disqualifying earlier.
