He was sending job applications at 2 A.M. while his roommates slept.

Every morning, the same email. "We regret to inform you..."

No name. No human. Just a machine rejecting him.

Madurai Veeran figured out why.

Companies receive 2,000 CVs. HR feeds keywords into an ATS software. 

Only matching CVs get shortlisted. The rest get an auto-rejection. No human ever even opens them.

So he did something nobody told him to do.

He copied the exact job description of every role he applied for. Pasted it on the last page of his CV. Font size 6. White color.

To any human - the page looked blank.

To the ATS - it was a perfect match.

No more rejection emails.

He went on to switch 13-14 jobs, going from ₹15,000 a month to ₹10 lakhs a month.

He said it best himself: "You are giving the decision to a machine. It is my job to beat the machine."

She came from a small town in Rajasthan with absolutely zero CA background in her family.

She had multiple attempts in her CA Inter exams and had no rank.

But despite all odds, she gave 25 interviews without a single reference and cracked top CA firms!

-> She realized she needed to strictly study the Job Description. For her BDO interview, she specifically prepared Transfer Pricing & Tax, and for Grant Thornton (GT), she mastered basic Accounting Standards (AS) for a Statutory Audit role

-> She cracked KNAV's Global Tax role by tackling tough questions on Deferred Taxes, Current Taxes, and Permanent vs. Temporary differences

-> To compensate for her multiple attempts, she built a massive "Extra-Curricular" column. She used her experience in school & ICAI regional competitions to show genuine confidence

Should you move to Mumbai for a CA Articleship?

Here's the detailed breakdown based on my discussion with 3 CA Final students on my podcast:

-> Income:

- Big 4 Firms - ₹15,000/month (Year 1) & ₹20,000/month (Year 2) 

- Mid-size Firms - ₹10,000 to ₹17,500 per month

- Small-size Firms - ₹6,000 to ₹8,000 per month 

-> Expenses: 

- One of the students (Juhi Manwani) shared that if you relocate to Mumbai, you need a bare minimum of ₹25,000 a month just to survive.

- Her exact fixed expenses: 

1. Rent for a shared flat : ₹10,500
2. Basic groceries : ₹2,000-₹3,000
3. Electricity : ₹1,000-₹2,000
4. Traveling - ₹1,000 - ₹2,000

Because of this brutal math, most outstation students are left with zero savings and often have to ask their parents for money to cover medical or discretionary expenses.

I asked Juhi if it was actually worth it for her to go to Mumbai and deal with that massive added expense.

She firmly said yes.

She explained that Mumbai gives you unmatched corporate exposure, and she credited her decision to move to Mumbai as the only reason she has reached where she has reached today.

Short-term financial pain in your early 20s can set you up for massive growth and a completely different career trajectory for the rest of your life.
