Brought on in a contract role to assist in releasing an entirely new version of their Savi Tracking web-based application. Collaborated with product owners and the development team in an Agile environment. Converted Flash-based user interface screens to modern front-end technologies, using Java, Spring MVC, JPA, HTML5, CSS and AngularJS.

Tempur Sealy International

Managed day-to-day front-end web development needs for Tempur-Pedic’s online presence, tempurpedic.com. Worked with copywriters and designers to implement online content for interactive product landing pages, ongoing and seasonal promotions, and online web forms. Collaborated with a large and diverse team to  design, develop and release an all new and innovated web presence in November 2013.

👋 Hi, my name is Kris. 

I am 4’5’’ tall, and was born with dwarfism.

Doctors told my parents I would never make it.

After I survived, doctors then told my mom to place me into an institution because I’d never walk, talk, or live a “normal” life.

As you are figuring out, it didn’t turn out that way.

“Challenge accepted” has been my mantra.

So has a faith in God and His ability to help me through anything.

That has led me to …

→ Recovering from 20+ surgeries all under the age of 20
→ Graduating high school in 2001
→ Going to college
→ Teaching myself how to design, code and media production
→ Starting multiple small businesses
→ Building a career in tech as a developer and now a product manager
→ Getting married
→ Having 4 kids, 2 with dwarfism

Maybe the doctors were right about one thing, after all.

My life is far from “normal”.

And I am 💯 percent here for it.

You might say I have quite the story.

That’s why earlier this year I decided to start sharing my story via #linkedin, one-on-one conversations, and public speaking.

Not for my own gain, but to inspire you to face and share your own stories.

I had many of the same responsibilities as a assistant/floater. An added responsibility was lessoning planning and montly newsletters.

I am the second assistant teacher in the two year olds. Some responsibilities are supervising/helping with toileting and diapering, supervising inside and outside playtime as well as assisting with lunch time and naptime.

I am currently continuing the same responsibilities of a two year old teacher. My work has been sold to new owners and we currently have a new director. One added responsibility with our new owners and new director is that we clean throughout the day and nightly.

Lead Teacher- 2 year olds

Some of my job responsibilities are lessoning planning, assisting with toilet training, getting meals, snacks ready. Helping the children with numbers, letters, shapes, coloring and working on things to prepare the children for Kindergarten. We work on fine and gross motor skills, and staying in the own play area.

I vacuum the carpets, sweep, and mop the tile floors, clean the bathrooms and clean the windows.

Janitor

Helping the Lead teacher and working with the children on different activities. I helped with toilet training, meal times, outdoor supervision. I worked with Infants up to 5th graders so I've done a variety of different tasks such as meal times, feeding when help is needed, toilet training when needed and helped with a variety of other activities.

Des Moines Area Community College

My responsibilities included changing cot sheets, assisting the cook with mealtimes, helping with breaks, assisting during naptime, doing different tasks for the teachers, director or some of the Early Childhood Education Staff.

Workstudy Teacher/Helper

Our House Childcare Center

Some of my responsibilities were to feed, assist children in toilet training. Help the Lead teacher with activities for the children, and supervising outdoor play/activities. I helped with feeding and changing infants and take care of their other basic needs.

I am passionate about helping 20 to 80 year olds with their quality of life.
