I traded a $250k base salary for a life with no guaranteed floor and I’ve never felt more free in my life. That's the life that entrepreneurship offers you, true freedom, no ceilings. 

As VP Sales there's a solid floor but a painfully low ceiling. 
And the path to hitting that ceiling? 

More pressure, more meetings, more burnout, more misalignment. 

Burning myself out, prioritizing profit over people to satisfy VC debt that I didn't choose to take on, figuring out how to please the board over taking care of our clients.

Most people think the “safe path” is the one with benefits, a title, and a predictable paycheck.

But safety isn’t the same as freedom.

I was suffocating under the weight of other people’s expectations:

They say you're the combination of the 5 people you surrou-just kidding y'all but check it.

I'm writing a memoir so I'm reading them. What I'm reading right now? Might surprise you...  

I’ve been listening to Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s story. 

Not to learn how to Hustle Harder (as the name implies)
Not to glorify his 10 years of underground hustling or his over 20 years of corporate efforts since.
 
To be reminded of a simple truth: 

greatness* is built on the simplest habits.

*50 is a beautifully imperfect human. So am I. I don't condone all or any of his behavior and I still believe there is something to learn from everyone.

Back to the principles Fifty preaches:

Availability
Movement
Good food.
Enough sleep.
Plenty of water.

And most importantly?
Relentless, aligned action.
Over & fking over. 

He never misses a workout, gets excited to put in 16 hour days, eats healthy very consistently (even if his lifestyle would make it easy to indulge)

The dude is a machine and LOVES the discipline, because he enjoys everything he does.

If you want your next level, stop looking for hacks and start mastering the basics nobody wants to talk about.

Practice finding joy in the routines that keep you at your best.

Define your giant fking north star and take steps towards it daily.
You don't have to reach the top today but you have to keep moving.

And never give up or stop believing in yourself.

Fifty talks openly about outworking everyone he knows. 

He's successful because he continues to bet on himself and never gives up. 

He's not successful because he’s the most gifted rapper (far from it IMO lol) 

Or because he’s flawless or the best looking entertainer. 

He just keeps choosing the version of himself he wants to become. 

Day to day. Moment to moment. Breath to breath.

That’s the part every founder needs to hear: your success isn’t a mystery. 
It’s a math equation built from the actions you’re willing to take today.
 
When you treat your health, your energy, your mindset, and your commitments like sacred assets, your biggest goals stop being long shots. 

They become the natural outcome of who you’re becoming.
 
This is the work I’m doing as I write my story. 
And it’s the work I invite my clients into every day:  

Stop performing.  
Start aligning.  

Let your daily habits tell the truth of the life you’re building.

All of the best things in life come from you being true to yourself.
