Something I like to do early in my design process is test animations. There’s no need to build these with complex apps or wait until development.

I’ve been using Figma Smart Animate for years to present animations to my clients early in the design process and help them align with my vision.

Most of them are not 100% accurate to the final result, and I wish we had a timeline feature in Figma, but you can build so much more than simple hovers.

I’ve saved so much time in several projects knowing that most of the complex animations are already approved, so we’re safe to build them and fine tune the timelines and easing during development to nail everything down.

Not all hotels need to be boring.

New vanity website for ibis budget Manchester Airport ✈️ 🏨

As someone who’s based in this amazing city, I felt super humble when Accor reached out to redesign the Ibis website as part of the new remodeled hotel at the Manchester Airport.

They wanted to create a super fun experience for travelers looking for a convenient place to stay for a night or two between trips.

It has been amazing collaborating with the whole team at ibis, and we’re all super happy with the end result.

We’re preparing a lot of special things for the rebrand, including a new reel with a different twist.

Had a lot of fun working with Rory Groves doing some recordings and photos on-site at the office.

We turned down more projects this year than we accepted.

Sounds counterintuitive for a growing studio, right?

But here's what happened when we got more selective.

In 2024, our win rate was around 80%.

This year? 42%.

The difference isn't that we got worse at what we do. It's that we started saying no to projects that weren't the right fit.

As we moved into 2025, we noticed something about our client roster. The brands we worked with were more ambitious than ever.

Bigger scopes, more complex challenges, and yes, larger budgets.

These weren't just website redesigns anymore.

We were helping B2B brands rethink their positioning. Making marketing decisions alongside their teams. Solving business problems that went way beyond pixels and code.

Our clients started seeing us differently too. Not as the people who just make cool websites (though we still do that), but as partners who help them grow their business, clarify their message, and win bigger contracts.

The work changed, and so did our pricing. Projects that used to average 12-15k now start at 20k+, because the problems we're solving are worth it.

Fewer clients, bigger impact.

That's the direction we're heading in 2026.

I recently checked in with one of my clients in the AI space about their new website and honestly, the results blew me away.

Had a call yesterday with a business owner running events that consistently sell out and bring in £150-200k annually.

He told me that he now wants to scale to £300-350k in the next 12 months, but he thinks his website is holding him back.

We had a look at their website together and right now, it's basic. Built quickly by his business manager. Slow. Not inspiring confidence with the level of clients he's targeting.

Nevertheless, he's still getting leads. Even with a website that doesn't match his positioning.

But here's what he told me:

"We're losing deals because the website doesn't build credibility."

They know their events deliver. They know their audience. But when decision-makers land on their site, there's a disconnect between what they promise and what they present.

When you're charging premium prices, your website is doing one of two things.

It's either reinforcing the value you bring, or it's making prospects second-guess whether you're the real deal.

A website isn't just about looking good. It's about building the trust that turns interest into action. 

If you're already getting results with a website that's not quite there yet, imagine what happens when it actually matches the quality of what you deliver.

I recently read a book that included a quote by Jeroen de Flander:

"You cannot be everything to everyone. If you decide to go north, you cannot go south at the same time."

This is something that happens more often than not when I talk with founders.

They have a great product that's working with a specific audience, and instead of going all in with something that works, they start adding a bunch of features to attract new audiences.

This approach might work sometimes, but in most cases it's complete chaos.

Your current loyal customers start to get confused about your product. You were a database, now you've turned into a full CRM, with a new SaaS platform, and a GPS tracker for pets.

The key to growth isn't adding fancy things. It's focusing on what got you where you are, and scaling it.

If a bakery is famous for its cheesecakes, adding new cakes won't make them grow. You're already doing great with a single thing, why add new products?

There's a lot more you could do:

◾ Clarify your messaging so the right customers find you faster
◾ Build a website that actually converts your traffic into leads
◾ Create case studies that show the real impact you're making
◾ Position yourself as the obvious choice in your specific niche
◾ Optimise your sales process to close bigger deals

Going deeper into what you already do well beats spreading thin across things you don't.
