Collections Supervisor

• Established and maintained relationships with customers, empathetically listened and catered uniquely and strategically to their individual financial needs, routinely conducted customer meetings and employed strong negotiation skills to provide personalized financial solution to improve customers’ financial position.
• Trusted to verify pledged security/collateral held against loan, displayed competence to proficiently dispose of pledged shares and the arrangement of public vehicle auction from the repossession stage to vehicle transfer, all whilst maintaining the highest level of integrity.
• Compiled strong evidence-based cases for legal action for accounts, represented the company at arbitration and dispute hearing meetings and produced brief notes of legal updates and developments.
• Demonstrated initiative with the identification of a gap in the management and monitoring of accounts referred for legal action and creatively developed an internal database using Microsoft Excel to streamline the process, simultaneously submitted correspondences to, and liaised with the company’s Attorney for the registration and re-registration of Judgements.

Collections Officer II

• Provide supervision and guidance to employees whilst monitoring attendance, performance and overall morale.
• Co-ordinate team planning meetings, to meet defined department goals and activity metrics, with particular focus on team and individual targets.
• Responsible for data collection for the purpose of tracking and monitoring debt collected by each staff member and ensure targets are met while complying with the organization's policies and procedures.
• Attend arbitration and dispute hearing meetings and produce brief notes of legal updates and developments.
• Compile strong evidence-based cases for legal action for accounts pertaining to the realization of collateral such as, but not limited to, property disposal and liaise with the company's attorney where applicable.
• Ensure advertisement for repossessed vehicles/ properties are published in the newspapers and via the company's social media platform within stipulated guidelines and timeframe.
• Collate bids received from ads for approval by management as required, for the completion of the collateral disposal process.
• Review and sign collections letters, review and approve share transfers and waiver requests.
• Advise management and suggest recommendations on possible areas for improving the debt collection and monitoring process in order to achieve the department's objectives.
• Prepare and submit monthly reports as required by executive management, on or before the specified deadline.

Collections Supervisor - Bad Debt and Delinquent Loans (Ag.) 

• Demonstrated flexibility and patience in managing and providing direction, supervision and guidance to employees whilst monitoring attendance, performance and overall morale
• Conducted end of day, daily cash reconciliation and verification of deposit values to bank with each cashier’s log report and secured end of day cash in branch vault in preparation for upcoming business day
• Promoted the sale of loans and other services offered whilst actively expanding and retaining member relationships thus ensuring that the branch provided quality service
• Liaised with contractors and suppliers for the branch in matters related but not limited to facilities issues, branch stationery and essential groceries replenishment and reported any issues to the ICT Department to ensure the efficient operations of the branch.
• Assisted with the duties in the absence of Branch Manager as directed and ensure that branch provided quality service.
• Reviewed and verified all new membership applications and correspondences on behalf of the Credit Union
• Opened and closed the branch office daily in accordance with established hours.

• Implemented new operational methods by conducting steady liaison with the team and individualized meetings with team members, strategically assigned workload and provided feedback on areas of improvement, resulting in an increase in the cash collected monthly and exceeded the monthly target of $250,000. 
• Conducted customer interviews and utilized strong communication skills to effectively negotiate and provide valuable solutions for customers, responded to customer queries, submitted monthly trend analysis report on the team’s performance and prepared monthly reports for Executive Board report.
• Demonstrated adaptability and strong people management skills in seamlessly handling multiple personalities and effectively organize and co-ordinate a team whilst efficiently managing the portfolio of Collection Officer II and creating a calm and productive work environment.
• Spearheaded the recruitment, orientation and onboarding of team members, issued employee contract, code of conduct manual, work badge and conducted exit interviews when necessary.

• Employed extensive financial knowledge to provide the best possible recommendation and strategy to assist customers in improving their financial position whilst maintaining an average monthly target of cash collected of 1% of the total delinquent portfolio.
• Reviewed, assessed and recommended unactionable accounts for disposal of pledged collateral, generated weekly and monthly department reports, promptly responded to and efficiently managed customers queries.
