🌟WHAT I DO

I help protect families, financial plans, care choices, and legacies by planning for one of life’s hardest events - long-term care (LTC) aka extended care. I design unique plans and policies for each individual, family, or employer.

I’m a guide. I don't tell my clients what they should do, rather I listen to their needs, goals, and concerns and give them recommendations. Ultimately, it's up to them to decide.


🌟WHY I DO WHAT I DO

I know the value and importance of planning for the unexpected. 

I saw and experienced the difficult realities of extended care/LTC situations in my family. All of my grandparents needed LTC, but none of them had a written plan or LTC insurance. This put a tremendous amount of financial, physical, and emotional burdens on my family. I was a part-time caregiver to my grandma for a couple of years. If my grandparents had LTC plans and insurance, these situations could have been much less difficult. 

My father-in-law was a dentist and due to an accident lost significant vision and could no longer practice dentistry in his 40s. His individual disability policy provided valuable income for over 20 years to my husband's family! Without that policy, life would have been very difficult.

It’s an honor to be able to come alongside clients and provide compassion and expertise in LTC.

Government food recommendations have flipped.

Take a look at this graphic I made.

1966 → 1992 → 2026

See how dramatically government food guidance has changed over the last 60 years?

Many of us grew up with:

▸ The 4 food groups and “eat a square meal” 

▸ Then the original food pyramid, with grains as the base (when I was graduating high school)

▸ And now, it's a completely reworked model that emphasizes real foods and pulls refined grains way back

They completely flipped it. What was right yesterday is now wrong today. (🤯)

Over time, nutrition research has:

▸ linked ultra-processed foods and refined carbs to metabolic disease

▸ re-thought the role of healthy fats

▸ shown that food quality matters more than food-group math

Institutions (like the USDA and Harvard’s nutrition research) have all contributed to this evolution.

The government didn’t suddenly “get it right.” It will continue to evolve over time. This I'm certain of. 

Which is why your health decisions can’t be outsourced.

Sure, let them guidelines inform you, but they should never replace your judgment, your data, or your lived experience.

For years, Jean's evening routine was Fireball on the rocks with water.

On our group call last week we were talking about our theme for the month "Sip Smarter," and she said something had recently clicked for her.

She's in Minnesota and realized she just liked sipping something fun while watching TV or reading, especially in the long winter evenings.

So she swapped her Fireball to lightly flavored carbonated water on the rocks.

She uses the same glass and the same ritual, and was happy it gave her the same comfort (without the alcohol that disrupted her sleep quality).

She still drinks a little socially, but with the nightly ritual shift, it's a much better middle-ground solution for her.

What I love about her experience is that she decided to get curious about what she was actually reaching for: comfort and ritual (not the need for alcohol)

I see this a lot. People are looking for a signal that work is done and it's time to unwind.

I didn’t expect to find part of ancient Rome tucked away in Barcelona.

But I stumbled across these massive Roman pillars that have been standing for centuries.

Quiet. Solid. Unbothered by time.

So I did what I do.

I sat all the way down. ⬇️
Then stood all the way back up. ⬆️

A get-up.

This is why I train. 💪

So I can wander into places like this.

Travel without hesitation.

And trust my body to carry me where I’m going.

Getting down.
Getting back up.
Moving through the world with confidence.

Capability creates freedom.
