Some of the best advice I've ever received and continue to pass along to the people I work with is, "figure out what you love, and then find a way to get paid for it." Since I can ever remember, I've always gravitated towards and been fascinated by coaching and building teams - I legitimately love watching someone become successful by implementing a skill that I taught them. 

I've been fortunate enough to "get paid for what I love" by building teams across the startup world since 2015. I'm most proud of doing so from scratch, where I can take an environment with minimal momentum and hire smart people, implement scalable processes, train, coach, and watch these teams excel in their space. I've helped multiple companies improve all of their productivity metrics by well over 300%, and I don't see myself letting down anytime soon - did I mention that I love this stuff :)

Responsible for all accounting function of a non-profit with budget of $45M and over $10M in federal revenue 
Controller
Supervise a team of 4 staff in performing all accounting and some payroll functions of the organization. Prepare monthly organization financial statements and various grant reports. Prepare organization for A-133 audits. Prepare schedules for annual 990 tax filing and annual corporate filings in states where the organization does business. Assist in preparation of annual budget for close to 700 grant-funded projects.
Key Contributions:
•	Took over department with very little background information due to turnover of both CFO and Controller at the same time.
•	Developed standard procedures for the accounting department.
•	Participated in implementation of new reporting software and created reporting templates.

Controller

Raffa, PC

Prepare monthly financial statements and account reconciliations. Prepare organizations for audit, including A-133 audits. Prepare grant reports for government and foundation grants. Supervise various staff assigned to engagements. Process semi-monthly payroll for one client. Serve as interim accountant for organizations during transition periods. Assist organizations in research and reconciliations on accounts when they discover discrepancies. 
Key Contributions:
•	Taught CPE classes on various subjects, including Sage MIP software and 1099 preparation.
•	Specialize in temporary engagements requiring extensive research and reconciliations.
•	Prepared existing organization with history of audit findings by reconstructed prior year balances of their balance sheet accounts. Reconciled their inter-company payables/receivables and agreed them between entities. 
•	Caught up organization on cash account reconciliations in a high deposit volume environment. Redesigned deposit entry template and improved deposit entry procedures to limit user and data-entry errors.

Senior II - Managed Accounting Services

ExED

Communicate extensively with management on accounting operations, including Vice President of Finance and Chief Operating Officer. Contribute to budget development and expenditure monitoring. Monitor bank accounts and cash position, to include conducting account reconciliation. Generate monthly financial statements. Process semi-monthly payroll, coordinating with third-party processor to address issues. Manage audit preparation, serving as liaison to Auditors. Supervise three employees in accounts payable and accounting operations. Coordinate training for new employees and periodic training for all accounting staff. Prepare government and grant reports, as well as filing school /student reports.
Key Contributions:
•	Developed Access database to simplify payroll processing.
•	Reduced monthly re-work and errors by creating Excel spreadsheets.
•	Implemented new policies and procedures, as well as improving existing processes, including monthly account reconciliation, formal information requests to clients based on activity reviewed, and streamlined reporting for chartering agencies.

Wells Fargo Bank

Coordinated with internal departments and other branches to address customer issues. Maintained marketing material and disclosure documentation files. Prepared daily planning spreadsheets. Conducted sales training for five Tellers; compiled team / employee performance evaluations and submitted reports to management.
Key Contribution:
•	Created manual to clearly outline product and services for employees, as well as sales techniques.
