The growing success of our operations at BetterWebSpace led us to incorporate the business as a part of InnovaTech Media Ltd in December 2009. 

BetterWebSpace continues to operate high quality hosting services at honest prices.

Having watched our automation work grow over 2009 we now spend much of our time working on PHP API integrations and backend development alongside our traditional hosting work.

Having grown BetterWebSpace from it's early days of being a sole-trader with one or two customers (mostly friends!) where I knew everyone on a first name basis I now run BetterWebSpace as part of InnovaTech Media Ltd.

BetterWebSpace was setup in 2002 when I had already been a customer of a variety of web hosting companies over the years and found them to offer little in the way of support or value for money.

In recent years we have found ourselves spending more time working more closely with our customers to produce highly customised automation solutions in PHP as well as providing them with great support for their websites.

I have been a geek from an early age, quickly becoming bored of games I began learning BASIC on my ZX Spectrum with my first “Hello World” and the noisy tape deck. It was magic to see something you created appear on the screen - that buzz never left me and the wow moment with a client is still what drives me to this day.

I have a background in Engineering, both at University and then spending 9 years at Motorola, during which time I set up BetterWebSpace allowing me to show that the hosting industry can be honest and fair. BetterWebSpace still serves its clients, but I spend more of my time doing Geekery as a Service - helping people turn their ideas into reality.

A cancer diagnosis in 2005 taught me a lot about life and productivity, why waste your time fighting with data and processes when much of it can be automated? 

Why sit on that idea that could mean you get more time with your family? Life is often too short, I'm fortunate enough to be a long way clear now (and fitter and healthier than I was back then) and I certainly don't want to waste my time - why would you?

I have had a variety of jobs, my last one was for 30 years. 

In chronological order papergirl, kennel maid, sawdust packer, kennel maid, waitress, sandwich bar manager, catering temp and finally the girl in the office.

The job I got the most out of? Kennel maid, we worked with rescue boxer dogs. Without a doubt the most heartbreaking, seeing the abused animals come in, they were still the most loving creatures and thrived under our love and care, going to new homes and flourishing.

Worst Job? Sawdust packer, I don't mind a production line, it can be very therapeutic but after a bit, it was so mundane as I worked alone.

Favourite boss? Can't choose, they were both strong women with fantastic boundaries, always encouraging you to be the best, look inside, find better ways and learn from your mistakes.

Worst boss? He was a clueless untrained monkey. 

Saddest moment. There are quite a few as you can imagine, the funeral of one of the loveliest, funniest, kindest ladies, was the saddest.

Funniest moment. How can you choose, between the fake awards, the family weekends and the spontaneous moments with some amazing people? But I think an April fool's trick of a cut-up post-it note on the bottom of someone's mouse caused the most hilarity.

Most loved moment? At the Xmas party where my manager got his guitar out and we sang "it must be love" with all the other party people.
  
My highlight - I have two, meeting Charlie Drake when I was waitressing, such a lovely person. And meeting the adorable Liz Fraser at a lady taverns lunch. I was actually very star-struck at being sat next to her, but she was so sweet and gracious.

In conclusion in my 45 years in the workplace, there are highs and lows. Lovely people, nasty people who won't deal with their issues, funny, kind, selfless people. There are all sorts out there, you cannot live life without meeting the good, the bad and the downright ugly. It's how you deal with what happens that matters.

🍋Moving You Forward After Workplace Abuse 🍋 is what my header says. 

I can't fit in "taking you from the person who is hiding away, confused, angry, sad, frustrated and feeling like you have lost your way, to the newer version of you" it was a bit too long.

* I am a coach and mentor for adults who have been the target of workplace abuse. 

* I have endless patience and am very empathetic.

* You may be saying to yourself, I was bullied. No! children bully. Adults have choices. You were the target of workplace abuse. It doesn't make it any better, but it is easier to say!

* Sadly, there are many different types of workplace abuse. 

* What happened to you may have been trivialised, trust me when I say, I understand and it is not trivial.

* You may be suffering from a range of symptoms including Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Depression, Chronic Stress, insomnia the list goes on.

* I will work with you in a 1-2-1 setting, which is strictly confidential.

* We will talk and I will listen to you.

* We will work together so that you can see a way forwards.

* We will work together so that you can move forwards, with confidence in yourself again.

I understand there will be days when it is as much as you can do to get out of bed. So, show up and talk to me while you are in your PJs. It is just as important to talk through the low points as it is everything else. 

Reaching out can be one of the hardest things you have ever had to do, I understand how hard that is.
