Pinch Produce was a company that grew microgreens indoors and sold to farmers' markets, 3 restaurants and 5 retail customers on a weekly basis. As the sole employee, I handled all business operations. I consistently prospected 20 restaurants weekly using a variety of techniques from cold-calling to social media and walk-ins.

Before this, my "About" section had 2 phrases that you probably would’ve considered to be boring platitudes.

But both came true 19 months later. 

One was, "Yesterday's dreams are today's realities." 

Being on the revenue team that helps take a SaaS start-up to IPO has been my dream since before I even knew what that meant. 

A few days after setting the above goal, the first step of that journey came to fruition: getting a B2B sales job where I could cut my teeth. 

(Fun fact: I got the job at LCP360 by giving my future ex-coworker an Uber.)

A year and a half later, I landed my dream gig at Lob. 

No, the IPO hasn't happened, but helping build this unicorn is pretty damn close. 🦄

The second one was, "Nothing excites me more than doing what's never been done before." 

My current role completely embodies this, but I'm not sure how much I can divulge regarding that, so I'll save you the reading time.

But I was actually doing REALLY well until your email found me.

Big news! I’ve decided to build my own car.

Sure, the sales person at the dealership offered a fully functional, safe, compliant vehicle with features like brakes and doors. But $34K? Absolutely not.

Buying one that already exists? Too expensive. Plus, I know what I need to make a car work. Probably.

So far I’ve spent $11K on parts, 97 hours on YouTube, and I’m one minor explosion away from forward motion.

All I need now is a transmission, steering, something called a VIN, and whatever makes a car stop.

Sure, the dealership laughed… but who's laughing now?

(Definitely still them, but I'll have my moment.)

I used to Excel at outbound at my last company.

Literally.

Excel was how I got my list of numbers and emails. 😂 

I know that was bad...BUT dad jokes aside, Marketing would pull the list for me, email me the spreadsheet and basically say "Good Luck"!

So I'd rip my dials and blast my templates without much hope that anything would come from it.

I had trust that the numbers were accurate (they weren't) or if the emails were bad (they were).

I'd connect with MAYBE 2/100 people on the phones, and even those ones were rarely the right person.

My emails? Bounced more often than my 7 y/o at a trampoline park.
