A little re-introduction, in case you’re new here (or we’ve just never properly said hello).

I’m Katie. I’m a marketing strategist, but not the shouty, hustle-at-all-costs kind.

I help coaches and consultants who are great at what they do, have proper experience under their belt, and still find marketing harder than it feels like it should be. Usually, because they’re trying to squeeze it in around client work, life admin, and everything else.

A few things you might not know about me:

– I love a plan. A calm one. Preferably written down.
– Most of my best ideas arrive on walks (or in the shower, or whilst driving!), usually when I’m not trying to think about work.
– I enjoy marketing strategy far more than marketing noise (and I have very little patience for '£20k a month with just this one secret hack' nonsense.
– I’m always thinking about how to make things simpler, not bigger and moredifficult.
– And I firmly believe marketing should support your business - not feel like another job on top of the one you already have.

Ouch - 7am train in the dark and minus something... 

That's a bump to reality! 

First day back in my clients office today. Looking forward to catching up, but that commute this time of year? 

So grateful for flexible working! As I have the rest of the week solo parenting and supporting our 16 year old through mock GCSE's, so I'll be working from home.

No new years resolutions for me this year…

The first full week of January feels hard, after being cocooned in mince pies, Love Actually and endless cosy evenings in front of the fire.

Who needs to pile on New Year's resolutions on top? I’ll be happy to get my head down and do more of what I did in 2025 quite frankly.

And when it comes to work, I do have a plan of action, because I work better under deadlines.

Are you coming into January with a plan of action?
Or giving yourself a bit of time to ease in?

Either is OK, but if showing up again, finding new clients and generally putting yourself out there is filling you with dread, I’m here to let you know it’s OK.

January’s a tough time, and 2025 was a tough year for many, so it might be hard to know where to focus your energy and time to get the best results.

It’s very normal to feel like that, to feel a little lost with your marketing in the new year, especially when it comes to LinkedIn, which is an unpredictable beast at the best of times.

I’m also here to let you know it’s definitely not you; it’s simply a lack of foundations and systems that allow you to really focus your marketing on the areas that count.

LinkedIn's punishing me for taking a break over Christmas...😫

Post impressions are down, everything's dropped off a cliff....

But I've been here before. 

I saw a lot of people posting all through Christmas, good for them - I can't do it, but I know it makes January all the more painful after a long break. 

Trying to get on top of the January content plan, trying to clear the tinsel out of my head!

1️⃣ They stop asking “What should I post?”

And start getting clear on what they actually want to be known for.

Not just their services, but their point of view, the problems they solve best, and the conversations they want to lead. Once that’s clear, content decisions get much easier,  because everything has a filter.

2️⃣ They make one clear decision and stop constantly revisiting it.

That might be who they’re speaking to, how they position their offer, or the main message they want to reinforce. Instead of tweaking every few weeks or chasing new ideas, they give their marketing time to land and do its job.

3️⃣ They stop waiting to feel ready before showing up.

They don’t suddenly become more confident or inspired; they build a simple, repeatable rhythm that keeps them visible even when client work is full-on. Consistency comes from structure, not mood.

None of this is about clever tactics or posting tricks.

It’s about making a few grounded decisions and committing to them long enough for momentum to build.

I’ve realised I’m the anti-version of most marketing advice....

I’m anti-hustle.
Anti bro-sales.
Anti-overwhelm.
Anti-chasing viral trends that disappear as quickly as they arrive.
And very anti doing things in your business that make you uncomfortable, "because that’s what works”.

I don’t believe marketing should feel like a performance, a personality transplant, or a full-time job on top of the one you already have.

I’m much more interested in:

✔️ marketing that fits around real client delivery
✔️ decisions you don’t have to revisit every week
✔️ systems that still work when energy is low
✔️ and visibility that feels intentional, not performative

Tell me, what are you anti at the moment?

There was a real turning point for me when I realised something uncomfortable: I was spending hours on marketing, but not actually moving anything forward.

My posts were getting attention, but not action. I had bursts of visibility, but no reliable pipeline. And everything felt like it was requiring far more effort than it should have.

That was when I stopped trying to “do more” and started thinking differently about how marketing needed to fit into my life and business. Instead of chasing daily motivation, I focused on building a rhythm I could actually stick to (even on my unmotivated days!) - something steady, repeatable, and realistic alongside client work.

I wanted a way of marketing that didn’t rely on me feeling inspired, that gave me energy rather than drained it, and that kept working even in the weeks when my head was elsewhere. Once I had that system in place, everything started to feel calmer and more intentional.

That’s the same system I now teach inside my programme — and for the first time, I’m sharing it live.

You’re not flaky, lazy, or “bad at marketing”, even if it sometimes feels that way.

What’s usually happening is much more practical than personal. Your marketing is relying on motivation instead of structure. So when client work ramps up, life gets busy, or your headspace disappears, marketing is the first thing to fall away.

Then the pipeline slows.

Urgency kicks in.

And you push hard to get visible again — until the next busy spell.

I see this pattern constantly with smart, experienced coaches and consultants. Not because they don’t care about their marketing, but because they’re trying to run it on spare energy rather than a system that actually supports them.

It often shows up as reactive bursts of visibility, effort without a clear direction, and a heavy reliance on referrals - even when you know that isn’t sustainable in the long-term.

The issue isn’t that you need to post more.

Without a clear structure underneath, every post feels high-stakes.

That came up in the questions after 'From Reactive to Reliable' (the live masterclass I ran on Friday).

Things like:

“Why do my clients never seem to engage on LinkedIn?”
“Should I even be doing sales posts when they get so little traction?”
“Would having a structure help me stop worrying so much about how my content is received, because there’s a bigger plan behind it?”

What struck me wasn’t a lack of experience or confidence.

It was how much pressure people were putting on individual posts to work.

When there’s no bigger plan, it’s easy to read too much into engagement (or the lack of it), second-guess yourself, and quietly lose confidence - even when you’re good at what you do.

Once we talked about structure, having some priorities, a rhythm, and a way of deciding what actually matters, the anxiety dropped immediately.

We didn't fix the problem, as that takes time and effort, but we named the problem, and I shared the solution.

Something you might not know about me...


Even though I’ve spent years working in marketing, marketing my own business didn’t come naturally at all.

Helping clients is one thing. You’re close enough to see what matters, what to prioritise, what to ignore. But not too close to lose perspective.

Doing it for yourself is different. You’re in it. Emotionally attached. Overthinking every decision.

𝗜 𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗻’𝘁 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗺𝘆 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗯𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗱𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺.

I built it by needing things to make sense.

I’m naturally someone who wants clarity before action, a plan before pressure, and systems that support me when life gets busy.

For a long time, I assumed that meant I lacked confidence. Or drive. Or whatever trait people like to credit success to.

What I eventually realised was simpler than that:

I just didn’t want a model that relied on constant output, hype, or being ‘on’ all the time.

Once I stopped trying to force myself into that way of working, everything changed.

That’s why the work I do now always starts with structure.

Not because structure is rigid, but because it’s what creates freedom.

When you have a plan and structure in place, decisions can feel lighter, executing feels do-able and marketing becomes something you actually start to enjoy.

Marketing Momentum exists because I couldn’t find a space that did this properly for experienced coaches and consultants - so I built the thing I needed myself.

One of the hardest parts of relying on referrals is that marketing never really feels urgent… until suddenly it is.

I’ve been there myself. You’re busy delivering for clients, which is non-negotiable. The work is good, you’re in demand, and marketing quietly slips into the background because everything feels fine.

Then a client contract comes to an end. Or a project wraps up. And all at once you realise how exposed you are.

You haven’t been talking about the work you’re doing. You’ve dropped off the radar a bit. And there’s no easy, reliable system for replacing that client without going into panic mode. You start wondering how many opportunities you might have missed along the way.

So you react. A short burst on LinkedIn. A half-formed plan. A promise to yourself to “come back to this properly”. But, of course, you don't.

Nothing is broken enough to force a real decision. And nothing feels settled enough to relax either.

What people don’t talk about enough is the mental load this creates. Marketing sits permanently in the background of your mind. You’re always half-thinking about it, half-worrying about it, but never quite trusting it to do its job. And that in-between state can be exhausting.

The Employment Rights Act is here. You need to take action.

From April 2026, large employers will be encouraged to publish a menopause action plan and by 2027, that plan becomes a legal requirement under the Employment Rights reforms.

Let me be clear. This is not another wellbeing checkbox.

Organisations that treat menopause support as an afterthought are facing two risks.

→ Losing valuable talent
Menopause symptoms can affect confidence, cognitive clarity, energy, attendance and engagement. Research shows people experiencing problematic symptoms are more likely to leave or reduce hours if unsupported.

→ Legal and reputational exposure
While menopause itself is not a protected characteristic under the Equality Act, symptoms that meet the legal definition of disability are. Tribunals citing menopause related claims are rising.

But there is now an opportunity to act.

Voluntary plans in 2026 mean you can get this right on your own terms, not under pressure in 2027.

A thoughtful, evidence based menopause action plan is:

→ not a policy on a shelf
→ not a single awareness session
→ not just a line in an inclusion report

It is a documented, strategic approach that explains how your organisation will support people experiencing menopause, from managers who need confidence, to individuals who want to thrive, and aligns to business performance and retention.
