Media Mortar is a full-service marketing agency. As Content Marketing Director, I oversee a diverse client portfolio spanning industries including tourism, hospitality, technology, alcoholic beverages, retail, education, and not-for-profit. In this role, I am tasked with devising comprehensive marketing strategies, pitching new campaigns and crafting compelling copy for various platforms including blogs, social media, and case studies. Additionally, I lead project management for large-scale campaigns, overseeing budgets, execution, and coordination with internal teams and subcontractors.

EdTech Group

In my role at EdTech Group, I reported to the owner and Managing Director, leading a small, agile marketing team to expand the company’s products across B2B and B2C markets. During my time there, I successfully launched CODEFLIX, an online coding platform for kids, which generated over 1,000 subscriptions in its first week on the market. I optimised B2C school holiday campaigns, resulting in a notable 33% increase in enrolments compared to previous periods. Additionally, I launched Cyber Pathways cyber security education to both B2B and B2C markets and provided support to the business development team and CODEFLIX resellers through the creation of sales collateral. I also implemented marketing automation and project management software to enhance team efficiency and output.

At VALD, a rapidly growing tech company, I played a pivotal role in various strategic initiatives. I established and expanded the marketing team to include 10 full-time positions and four casual roles. Through targeted efforts, I boosted inbound organic B2B leads by 30% by enhancing website conversions, executing content marketing strategies, and deploying regular email campaigns. Additionally, I oversaw a comprehensive brand refresh and the successful launch of six new products, complementing the existing portfolio of five offerings. My contributions extended to supporting global sales and client success teams with tailored collateral such as brochures, case studies, pricing guides, onboarding materials, and pitch decks. I also managed the build, operations, and marketing for an allied health clinic, which served as a research and development facility. To enhance team efficiency and productivity, I implemented advanced project management tools and software.

At Entegy, a founder-led event technology company, I initially joined to set up the knowledge base and write support articles. Once that project was complete I took the marketing reigns and played a key role in developing the partner program for distributors. This included directly supporting and coaching 50 distributors in sales and marketing implementation as well as leading go-to-market launches for new features and products. Additionally, I assumed responsibility for crafting all content, ranging from case studies and press releases to editorial pieces, blogs, eBooks, emails, product copy decks, sales brochures and pitch decks. One of my notable achievements included increasing inbound leads by 360% by implementing automated product demos.

Elise Hanslip Design & Marketing

As a freelance marketing and design consultant, I provided services to clients spanning hospitality, events, landscaping, interior design, and health and wellbeing sectors. Key accomplishments include successfully launching a skincare and soy candle business and developing its brand, style guide, packaging, and website. Additionally, I collaborated with a landscaping business to refine its brand and target audience, resulting in attracting higher-value projects. I also worked continuously with a natural cosmetic wholesaler to enhance its online presence and attract new resellers.

Hi there, I’m Elise 👋

My career started out in hospitality and events. From Maccas to bars, then running functions, conferences, weddings, exhibitions and a restaurant at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre. While working at BCEC I studied a Bachelor of Hotel and Tourism Management, with majors in events at UQ.

I soon became interested in writing and pivoted into a marketing role at BCEC, where I was responsible for the venue's websites, app, social media, campaigns, database, media communications, content and digital strategy.

To add to my skills I studied a diploma of graphic design whilst working full-time and starting my own freelance business. I've had the pleasure of working with a variety of clients across marketing and design to grow their business including skincare, landscaping, make-up, lighting design, restaurants and more.

In my next career step, I spent six years in marketing leadership roles for tech startups developing B2B and B2C marketing strategies for SaaS products.
