As Chairman of Smarter Capital, my role is to drive results and find solutions that enhance the Groups performance. I am responsible for overseeing the acquisition of digital marketing agencies for the Group, as well as supporting acquisitions in the e-commerce and Support Services verticals. 

Since June 2022, we have successfully integrated eight companies into the Group, expanding our reach and capabilities locally, nationally, and now globally.

My primary focus is on growing the Digital Agency vertical and supporting the growth of our e-commerce vertical, each with a target of achieving £3 million in EBIT. This growth objective demonstrates our dedication to maximising the profitability and success of these sectors within the Group.

In addition to my responsibilities within the Group, I also prioritise assisting founders in maximising their shareholder value. This indicates our commitment to fostering strong relationships with the entrepreneurs behind the acquired companies, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their goals.

Furthermore, I am leading the development of our "Smarter Fund," which aims to generate above-average returns for everyday capital. This fund offers a secured solution that provides attractive financial opportunities while mitigating risk.

I returned to swindon in march 2002 and was given an opportunity to manage 16 properties that were already rented. This gave me an ideal start to form a business in the town and within weeks I was gearing towards doubling the number of properties managed.  I soon decided that there should be no limits to the agency and we took on a 10 bedroom House in Multi Occupation in the first quarter of trading.  As well as covering all types of 1,2 and 3 bedroom houses, we took on 2 executive homes in the Swindon area.  As I write this in 2022, we are now an established agent in the Swindon area,  managing upwards of 650 properties for 396 different landlords.  Our service is professional, fast and flexible with us being the only known agents to answer calls 24/7.  The company is built on old fashioned customer service, with modern professional marketing initiatives used in order to let properties quickly to professional tenants.  The company is expanding on a monthly basis with continued growth expected and aimed upon throughout the company.

I took up a role in an estate agents/mortgage company which was newly started in North London. I took the role as my career aim was always to get into property and the opportunity came at the right time. The company, although new, had some great ideas however a year in the focus was more on the established mortgage side than the property side. As this was a market I was not passionate about, I decided to start out alone focusing on rental properties in a town I knew, Swindon.

I was based in the Watford office, but also undertook a sales support role within the midlands team. Regus were, and still are, results and customer driven and gave me invaluable training and an insight into modern business. The company didn't believe in saying no to a client and instilled ultimate service throughout everything the staff and company undertook. I learnt key skills in IT Networks, telephone systems, conferencing, sales and service.

I worked in various departments before enrolling on a graduate management course ran internally by the company. The training I undertook enabled me to become focused on customer service whilst understanding about costs and budgets in a expanding business. The company at the time was undertaking a huge expansion programme and was moving very fast into unknown markets. Some of the management skills and role models I learnt from in my time with Tesco, in my opinion, remains part of me in my career to date.
