My life has taught me three important things:

1.  We engage with the world through our Mindspace. So, guard it.
2. We have the ability to co-create our reality. Choose wisely.
3. Everything Is Figureoutable. Just go with the flow.

These foundational insights have been the compass guiding me through 5+ diverse career landscapes, from medicine to research to goldsmithing to corporate leadership including landing a $3M seed fund for the company I worked for when I knew next to nothing about pitching. Not to forget my latest transition to a full-time coach consultant. 

In addition to the personal challenges of marrying young, losing multiple pregnancies, overcoming ~3 years of physical disability... these are the experiences that make me the person that I am today.

And, in the face of adversity, I have learned to find strength in unconditional acceptance of all that life presents.

There is a wise fool within all of us.

You don't have to worry too much about him, though.

We stop believing in the wisdom of that fool and only remember his foolish ways with age.

Don't we see so many “adults” around us, as if their souls had been taken away with age?

I thought that was the deal if you wanted to grow up.

But no...we don't have to give up on that voice, no matter what comes our way.

It commands us to believe once again when our beliefs have been broken too many times, to smile alone... just a bit, when you remember its stupidity, but also the times when you actually felt alive.

It tells us when we stop appreciating the little things in our lives and commands us to be better. It mocks us when we start moping or forget to be the pain reliever — for others and for ourselves — because life already gives us plenty of pain.

It asks us to take care of ourselves, to push our limits with work, to go on a walk alone, to watch something randomly, to believe, to listen to everything innocent within us and around, and the stupid thoughts that somehow turn out wise with time.

Try to listen to it.
Today.
Tomorrow.
The day after.
And the life after.

That voice from the heart/soul knows the best for itself and for everyone beyond.

Time feels weird when you work from home. 

It tries to catch up with me, but I am all tucked up in my room, refusing to go out.

Weird, of course.

Who does that?

Who wants that?

I do.
That's why I revere my room. 

I want to make it as "me" as possible with time. 

I like to observe the world from the comfort of my chair.
I like to spend my days reading and writing and reading and writing, with watching stuff in between. 
Around that are conversations.
Around that should be outings. 

They should be long enough to look at that part of the world, adore the ocean or the mountains, and try skiing or surfing.

But back home, it should be exactly like this. 

Who wants to go out anymore beyond that?
At least I don't.

There was a time not long ago when getting something of ours published required a lot of money.


The ones who spent that money (the gatekeepers) only picked a chosen few who got to see the light of day and reach people.

There was a time not long ago when spreading the word, "I am starting a business," took newspaper ads, pamphlet distribution, and word of mouth, with almost no assurance of ever seeing that money again.


Now...
It costs time to write something, almost no money (excluding the internet expenses and gadgets), your own standards, no gatekeepers, and building a habit out of it.


Nice.

So what if you can write? What's the big deal? Can't anyone do that? 

Just the way anyone can pick a hammer and nails and do some carpentry...
Just the way anyone can cook the meals, do the home chores, and manage people...
Just the way anyone can watch a couple of videos on YouTube and learn how to fix the wiring in their home...
Just the way anyone can learn coding and make a program out of it...

What's the big deal? Can't everyone write?

You just need to express yourself, put your words in a way that feels relatable and honest at the same time, and get people to feel something....convey something...


Everyone can write, just the way everyone can talk.


The only difference comes when you can hold people while talking on a stage.
If something moves within them while listening to you,
maybe there is something in you that's not in thousands of those sitting there.

Maybe, at that point, you are better than the thousands of possible speakers sitting there.


It's the same with writing.

It's the same with any skill you have.

You know it when you look around and see that there is something within you that others don't possess, even if they might be capable of it.


The world says, “Don’t compare yourself with anyone.”

But I want you to.

And be honest with yourself — do you see something within you that's not in them?
At least I do.


If you see that...this skill, my friend, is yours and ONLY yours.

No one can do it the way you do.

No one can create the potential impact you are capable of creating.

It has to be a crime not to make full use of the gifts you’ve been given.

No matter what that skill might be for you...
If you are not going to make the most of it, it would be an insult to what you were endowed with that others weren't.


No matter who you are, you will feel a thousand times that your skill isn't important enough.
And it's not due to social media, where everyone seems to have what you possess.

Even when there was no internet,
a writer was pushed towards engineering, a designer towards architecture, and an actor towards law, where they got a chance to play a role their entire life.
(What a magnificent one that might be!)
There was always "no point" in pursuing a path that felt true to you.


It's your job to make the most of what you are better at than the majority.


And those who did their job no matter what...gave us art. In every field we can think of... In every field that leaves an impact...
