Just another LinkedIn sales influencer... but funnier and better looking than most.

Born in 1994 in the roundabout filled town of Milton Keynes I was always the odd child at school. 

After getting the worlds most pointless degree at University of Brighton I decided to go “find myself” by working in a French Ski Resort, backpacking through south-east Asia, before temporarily settling down in Sydney Australia where I got work as a recruiter and then moving to Canada. 

Now in North America I was determined to work in SaaS sales because I saw on Reddit that you can make BANK selling software.

Just a couple of years later after trying to find my footing I was the top rep on my team.

This gave me time to open up TikTok and on April of 2021 I made my first video, then I made one everyday for 6-months. 

This opened up my love for content creation and led me to my current career in marketing, keynotes, book writing, and sales training.

I judged a "Discovery Competition" at Salman Mohiuddin's Sales Sprint event this week

6 Sellers had 7-minutes to complete a discovery call with the bot that the team at Hyperbound uses as part of their Account Executive hiring process

Myself, Jen Allen-Knuth, and Eddy Bahnam then gave each seller feedback on what they did well with and how they could improve

I HATE giving feedback to strangers 😂

Coaching is intimate, and without knowing someone, their style, and how they like to be coached, you can end up sounding like a critical w@nker

As Babe Ruth said “The loudest boos always come from the cheapest seats.”

So I thought it'd only be fair if I also gave the challenge a spin and let strangers (that's you folks on LinkedIn) judge my performance

Relocation and resettlement in Toronto, Canada and feasibility study for new business ventures. 

It was the perfect time to do it.  

As a member of a family with roots in Canada and Australia, my wife and I always wanted to make sure that our children had the opportunity to experience the culture, and get to know their families in both countries. 

With the completion of work contracts for my wife and me, my daughter finishing elementary school and the sale of our house all coinciding, this was the perfect opportunity to move countries and spend time adapting (and adopting) to our new ecosystem.

During this time we moved countries (houses), did renovations, settled children into new schools, made new friends and helped the children adjust to their new environment. (Literally - much colder in Toronto than it is in Sydney.)

Professional development encompassed a deep dive into a number of potential new business ventures, including two-sided marketplace models for non-profit expertise and a corporate giving platform.

Reporting directly to the Global Commercial Effectiveness manager and then the CCO, I conducted an end-to-end global review of commercial processes including planning, sales role design, bid process, sales training/onboarding, process optimization and adoption.  

By close engagement with a broad internal customer base, including sales leadership, sales enablement, customer success, finance and legal, I defined future sales process quality and prioritized opportunities for improvement.  I mapped the functionality of enabling technologies, including Salesforce.com, and processes for maintaining and improving the use of Salesforce CRM.

Key to this was conducting over 60 face to face interviews with key staff members across 3 continents in order to ensure alignment and change management strategies were in place to achieve desired outcomes.

Global Commercial Effectiveness Associate (Contract)

Amadeus IT Pacific

Amadeus is a leading provider of technology to the travel industry. (14,000 employees, $5b annual revenue)

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, Pacific, I was promoted to drive business planning, strategic programs and tactical initiatives which then resulted in 35% productivity gains and a 20% increase in average EBIT.

Regional Strategy & Planning Manager

Reporting directly to the Senior Director, Sales & Marketing, I was headhunted to design and implemented the framework for sales operations and enablement within Australia, New Zealand and the islands.

Amongst my key successes were leading a revenue assurance exercise (six-figure annual savings), the review and execution of all internal staff compensation plans (30% uplift in performance), and the creation of strategic business reviews with key customers (100% retention rate and 100% contract compliance).

Senior Sales Strategy Manager

SingTel Optus

Singtel Optus Pty Limited (Optus) is the second-largest telecommunications company in Australia. (9,000 employees, $9b annual revenue)

Promoted to manage the long term planning, budgeting and forecasting process for 7 sales channels in the SMB division.

Reporting to the Sales Director, Small & Medium Business division.

I conducted scenario planning and model building for major business cases resulting in year-on-year revenue growth of 12% (3x market growth) as well as subscriber acquisition growth +20%.

Developed target-setting methodology and compliance structure for external channel partners and internal staff which increased forecast accuracy to 98% and decreased external compensation risk by 50%.

Senior Channel Performance Manager

Recruited to create the sales operations and enablement infrastructure for a new $1b division (SMB).

Responsible for partnering with national call centres, channel partners, and retail channels to increase SMB sales focusing on SOHO/Micro (1-5 employees) business segments. Executed strategic sales initiatives to deliver national sales quota representing 50% of total divisional quota.

Senior Sales Performance Manager

Seeking a new challenge, I took a role to create and manage the analytical ecosystem of the telesales environment.

As a member of the business performance team, I created the reporting infrastructure to give visibility of key metrics to sales staff and senior management - at a time when "big data" was a new concept, I synthesized key messages and trends to enable intelligent decision making. 

Designed internal incentive programs that drove staff engagement (an increase from 69 – 74), market share growth and profitability, whilst remaining 100% to budget.

Promoted to lead a team of 15 salespeople in a consumer telesales environment.
